808 PureView screenshot from Nokia India website.How is the pixellation on the upcoming 808 PureView display?Almost every write up talks about either the camera or the low resolution.I have seen a C7 with this resolution but its screen is smaller than 4 inches and compared to my existing E6 it looks very pixellated?

View 17 Replies View RelatedI cannot get the media transfer to work with my 808 pureview, it worked fine with my E7 running Anna, but it just get stuck "searching for device" when I plug the 808 in. If I set the 808 to media transfer I get the message "your 808 is not in a mode used for media transfer" then when I swtich it back to Nokia Suite, media transfer gets stuck looking for a device?

This gets really confusing: Is the domain name an incomingt server or outgoing server, or something else entirely? Is the "Server" field for incoming or outgoing server? Is the "Port number" in advanced settings for the incoming or outgoing port?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe n8 has a minimum shutter speed of 1/15s in the default camera (from what I have read). With CameraPro, you can get it down to 1/5s (although I am sure I saw 1/2.5s). I would love a bulb stop, but a multi second option would also be great. Night shots could be enhanced - for example car headlight trails, star pics (ie. astrophotography).
Anyone know the 808 minimum shutter speed?

Tried resetting the settingso n the phone and updating the maps on the Nokia Store. Now I'm stuck. Nokia drive was my second reason for buying the phone after the camera, so I'm a bit distraught lol. I've been making fun of my iOS6 friends the last couple of weeks about their maps and now I feel a bit foolish.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIt's a couple of days that my newest 808 PureView fails to set up email accounts via the "Nokia Mail" option.
I choose the "other" email option to set up my university email, and after putting all the account information and settings, I get this error message:
"Cannot enable the mail service that allows you to fully experience your favorite providers because connection to the mail server is not possible with the settings provided.
Select 'Next' to set up mailbox without this service. You can attempt to connect to the server by adjusting the mailbox settings later."
I have noticed several other posts about this here and in other forums, but I didn't find any solutions. (I saw a post about setting the date/time correctly, which is correct in my case, and to not use Wi-Fi, which I tried as well, but the problem is still there).
I was able to easily setup my emails on my previous 808 phones and my N8 and other Symbian phones.
I have found that mkv video files I have which are larger than 2GB will not play on my new 808. They play absolutely fine on the N8. I have tried with both Fat32 and exFat file systems on my 64GB microSD. Anything smaller than 2GB is fine.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just tried adding a (degree) character to an SMS I was writing (from the Sym screen) and noticed that the number of characters remaining changed by 91. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has the same problem. Open a new SMS and you should see 160 (1) in the right hand side of the text input box. Press the Fn (Up/Right arrow) button and then the Sym/Ctrl button. Choose the ° character (third row down, second from right) and watch the available-character count drop to 69 (1).
I know the ° character isn't supported as standard, but I figured I'd try it seeing as how the device was allowing me to insert it, but only expected the count to change by a maximum of 2. Any ideas what's going on? I tried sending the message to myself and it displayed OK by the way

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 16GB Nokia n96, and it was working completely fine till a couple weeks back the screen went blank, so i assumed it had switched itself off. I took the battery out and tried switching it back on, but the screen didn't come on. The phone vibrated once like normal on start-up, then the keypad lit up and the buttons on the slide-up bit, but nothing can be seen on the screen. I can also hear the beeps when i press different buttons, and also I could remember off by heart where my music player was on it, so i pressed the right buttons and my music actually started playing!

When I turn the phone on, the screen is multiple coloured vertical lines across it, and can't see the software number pad to unlock the phone. I have bought it and hard reset it yesterday with button combination and also with factory settings option.Now, the problem is that when i start any installation, it asks to install it. When i press ok it proceeds to neXt dialogue, either asking for permissions or asking to close an app, depending o the sis file.NOW, a moment before this dialogue, i get totally black screen for milliseconds. And then i cannot touch any button when the prompt appears. I can switch to menu and hs using hardware keys but cannot touch anything on screen. Long pressing menu key allows me to touch the screen and close apps but i can't touch anything else. I can also use power key menu to shut down mobile.Everything else is normal otherwise, i even installed many apps today successfully but now this problem occurs.
