Just updated my BB desk top manager with the update version 5.0..1. Now I am not able to use the left side convenience key button to lock the keyboard. Just curious to see if anyone else has had the problem and if so, how did you fix it.
View 6 RepliesI had the curve 8330 before this phone and i could set the phone lock to both right and left side convenience keys. there is no option on the tour. is there any way i can lock the phone from the convenience keys? thanks.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIt may sound trivial to some but one of my favorite BB functions was lost during the recent update and I can't seem to find how to restore it. I used to have the keyboard lock function assigned to the left side convenience key. This was really essential for me to have and now it is not available for me to assign when I try to assign something for the left side convenience key. I know the Tour has the option on the top of the phone to lock it but even when this is pushed, it will still unlock in my bag. How can I restore this option?

1: The battery life it bad! I took it off the charger today at about 9:00, and have used some texting, about 20 minutes of Pandora, and a little bit of internet browsing, and now my battery is at 75%... I like in a coverage area with 5 bars (more on next one), and I am not using wifi very much, with screen at 10%, 10 seconds off, and auto dim, so I don't know what it is...
2: As above, I have 5 bars in my house, but when I hold the phone it will go down to two or one, sometimes zero, switch to no service, and not get good signal until I set it down and leave it there for a couple seconds. Very annoying, because it makes it hard to load web pages sometimes. I would use wifi but it is slower and less reliable than Sprint's network for some reason. If someone could help me with these problems, or at least suggest some things, that would be great!
I have an Blackberry Curve 8520 and I would like to know that my phone left portion of the screen got white lines and then slowly half of the screen has gone white. I bought this phone on march 2011. So phone is under warranty and what should be done?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had the Curve 8530 for about a week, and I noticed today that the majority of my contact list has disappeared. I started with almost 250 names, now I have about 25. Everything from A-D is gone, and about 75% of everything after that, just random names deleted. Also, when I pull up the contact list, I have to scroll down through a bunch of empty lines before I can see the numbers that are left, like all the deleted contacts are still there, just hidden. But if I search for names that aren't showing up, it doesn't find anything. I've tried a battery pull, and all that happened was the empty spaces in the list disappeared. I really don't want to have to reload my contacts every few days.

It sometimes works perfectly but then i try and press a button on the left hand side of the screen and it chooses the one at the right-hand side. This obviously makes everything very difficult! Any ideas as to why this might be/how I could repair it? I've tried the touch screen calibration about 10 times, it sorts it out for about a minute.I can send it to Nokia to replace but I could really do without sending my phone away
View 13 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the new OS when I plugged my phone to the computer... it sounded like a good idea to upgrade everything but I do not like how the UNlock function is only through the mute button now. I mean, if I wanted to just lock/unlock my phone that way with the push of only one button, I could use the standby (mute) button and press on it again to unlock it before. I really liked the previous version where you had to take the extra step of pushing two buttons (A and Send) to unlock it. Because I unlock my phone by accident a lot when it's in my purse and I reach for something and accidentally press the top button (mute button). Any ideas if Blackberry is planning on a new OS version soon that would restore the old locking/unlocking system? I do not necessarily want to downgrade to a previous OS version but I might have to as the "easy" one-button only unlocking option is not working for me.

I have a plastic case on it, so everytime I go to press the Mute buton, I have to take the case off. Now my fiance has the same exact phone, and when he wants to unlock, the message says to press the A key with the send/call key.

I can hold the A button and put it in what seems to be sleep mode, but my name and info does not show up on the home screen anymore. And you now push the mute button to unlock the keyboard. These are the only changes I have noticed. I liked the other way better.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Blackberry Curve 8530 last month, and everything has been going smoothly up until the past week or so.Every time I hit the "End Call" button it results in the Blackberry typing out the letters "NM" repeatedly. If I keep hitting it, it just types out "Nmnmnmnmnmnmnm" ... I have tried a battery pull, multiple times. I've tried a software update. I don't know what else I can do to fix it.
It's driving me insane, I'm in love with my new BB (first time user!), but this is really killing the enjoyment. I've read about this problem with other phones and I'm worried it might move on to other letters and keys, forcing me to not be able to use the phone at all.If anybody can help me I'd greatly appreciate it. I've combed these forums for hours looking for a solution, but to no avail. Someone want to give a BB newbie a break?
Maybe I just can't find it on my 8530, but is there an auto lock feature on this blackberry? Sometimes I forget to and it would be nice if it didn't pocket dial anyone on accident.I know there's auto dimming of the screen, if it locked also when it did that, that would be awesome.
