I have just purchased a Curve 3g smartphone. I have set up the phone with the wifi network in my home. In manage connections it is showing the wifi as open and receiving a signal however when I try to go on line or to email the phone comes back with "no IP address found" I have the IP address from the router manufacturer but can not fine anywhere to enter it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy boss is having trouble recieving e-mails on his BlackBerry Bold 9000. He has had the phone for about eight months and has experienced no problems until last Friday. He stopped recieving mail on his phone out of the blue, so he took the unit to his local AT&T store and they said it was a problem with the domain.
We reset his e-mail password and he is now recieving the following error message when we try to register the account with BlackBerry Internet Service using the AT&T setup page:
Email address domain not found: I have done some research on the web and these forums trying to find people experiencing the same problem. Based on that, I've done an MX lookup, a DNS lookup, etc. and encountered no problems with the domain. It is an established address that has been in use for more than two years. The domain is [URL]
I have tried entering the specific address of the mail server under Advanced Setup, but to no avail. We have three other employees currently recieving mail on their BlackBerry devices using the same domain and nobody else is experiencing problems.
I also tried creating a new e-mail address on the domain and synching that one, but I just recieved the same message.
I am unable to add an e-mail account to my bis account.
The error message I get back is
The email address domain cannot be found. I setup the mail host myself and I can send/receive e-mail just fine in outlook. The domain is tmconcepts.ca . I think it might be a dns issue but I am not sure.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got an unlocked blackberry curve 8520 in February. I did get it from Poland but everything is the same. I don't have a data package, but about a two weeks ago I found out I could connect to wifi anyways. I did this and it worked at my house all day that day. Then I left and when I came back it wouldn't connect to the router it was previously connected to or any others. After searching forums I've tried changing all kinds of settings but they all seem to be where they were supposed to be. I did notice though when I'm in 'options> wifi> menu> wifi tools> wifi diagnostics the status bar says "IP address no loner valid" for all the routers I try to connect to.

I'm trying to use the location-based reminders feature. It doesn't recognize my contacts' addresses.
So I've tried figuring out what's wrong with the addresses I've entered: I touch them on the contact details screen, and it switches to the Maps app, and after a quick search tells me "No results found". However the search string (the same address I had in the contact details) is still in the search bar. I just touch "Search" at the bottom, and it finds it straight away!
Now, if I touch this adress pin and "Add to contacts" it puts a usable address in the contact, meaning that _this_ address I can touch and reach the location on Maps just fine. However it does NOT save the house number, so it only locates the middle of the street, which isn't _that_ good for me.
Another try: If I remove the house number from the manually-entered address it also finds the location on the first go, but again: that doesn't allow me to properly set location reminders for my house.
More attempts: Entering a US address (my childhood house) also succeeds in finding a location on the first touch in the contact details, however it gives me the wrong location. Only a second touch on the "Search" button brings me to the right place.
I'm beginning to think that there is some kind of miscommunication between the contact list software and Maps...

First off, let me apologize in advance if what I'm about to ask has already been answered (I did a search, but I didn't find anything helpful)OK, so I got a new shiny N95, updated firmware to 31.0.015, installed OVI maps 3.0, so on and so forth. The phone works fine, but I'm having some problems with the maps.
Whenever I try to search for an address I get a (very) brief "searching online" progress bar, but every time I get "no results found", regardless if I'm searching for a full address or just a city.
I can't figure out why my S6 can't connect to my PC via WiFi using SideSync ... it appears SideSync installed properly on both my phone and my PC (Windows 7) and it works via USB, but I really want it to connect wirelessly.
Both devices "search" .. but the phone times out and/or the PC reports "No Device Found". Both have WiFi enabled ...
I just reinstalled the App on both devices ... now it works ... when in doubt, start over, I guess ...
I have multiple email addresses on my phone (Work, School (2), and Gmail). I have set my work email as the default under default services under advanced options. If I am in messages and I use the menu to compose a new email, the correct default email (work) is used.
However, if I am browsing my files, like a picture, and I use the menu to select send as email, it will attach it to a new email but it will be my Gmail address, not my default work address as the from address.
I have double checked and my work email is set as the default. Does anyone know how to fix this? This is not a battery pull problem either... It has been this was since I got the phone, and on my replacement as well. I reboot the phone often so its not the standard do a battery pull answer.
I have been using the X 2nd Generation for 3 months now. However I have been unable to tether my device for using my phone's Internet on other devices. It shows that WiFi is connected on other devices but when trying to connect to the Internet it says that no internet connection was found. This happens with my IPad, My Windows laptop as well as other mobile device.

I tried the router people (their "fixes" did not work), AT&T couldn't help, Motorola couldn't help and I even took my phone to Best Buy where I purchased it and their fix worked for a bit now I can't get it to work. There is a way to change the security settings and I can't get back there. Of course I found it by accident before and now I can't get back there. I am connected and can't use the browser. This is starting to tick me off!! I have had this phone 2 weeks and no solution to the problem. The thing is I can connect to my work WEP but not my home router.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed something strange since updating to Anna and the new version of OVI Store application (2.12.042). When I launch the application with 3g connection (over Orange) the application connects to the store without any issues at all. It now has an "Orange Selects" button, which I assume means the application has recognised my sim card as the phone is an operator free version.
The problem is that when I launch the application at home, it attempts to connect via Wi-Fi and is unable to connect to the OVI service. All other internet over wi-fi works fine.
My Xoom has always had some issues picking up the wifi signal in my house (probably due to the old lathe and plaster walls), so I installed a Hawking HWREN1 Hi-Gain Wireless-300N Range Extender to give me better range.
This has worked marvelously... until my husband's Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 plus entered the picture. Now, whenever he gets online with his G-tab, my Xoom will lose connection. Perhaps, not lose connection per se... if I stand in the room where the router (or range extender) is located, web pages will load. However, if I am anywhere near his G-tab, pages will time out and not load.
I am not educated enough to know if this is a RFI issue, or something I can configure differently so we can both be connected simultaneously. It is almost as if his tab is hogging all of the bandwidth...
If I turn on wifi and connect at my home my pictures from facebook, ebay, etc won't load. If I turn off wifi they load fine just much slower than on wifi. I haven't tried to upload pictures, just viewing them.

go into Wi-Fi settings > Advanced Wi-Fi settings > scroll down to MAC address at the bottom and jot that down. reboot phone and look at it again... did it change?

When it switches on it says "SIM card not found".When I go to Options -> Advanced Options -> SIM Card it says there is "No valid sim card". What is wrong? I am unable to pair my Blackberry with a Car Multi-media Kit (part of a McIntosh Sat Nav/Stereo system in a Subaru).I have tried both "Search" and "Listen" under the Bluetooth Options menu and get the following respective messages "No new device found" and "No device paired".
I recently deleted the previously paired Car Multi-media Kit (as it stopped connecting for some reason) but I am not sure if this is cause of the problem.There is no issue with the bluetooth in the Car Multi-media Kit as I was able to pair separately both an Iphone and an Ipod.
