My iPhone 3G developed a crack in the plastic casing on the backside right at the bottom (by the connector at the bottom). I've heard that this is a design fault and happens to a lot of iPhones, and that (if it's within warranty!) going into an Apple store and complaining will get you a brand new one to walk out with.
The problem I have is that the good is no longer under warranty, but I've only had it for a little longer than a year and the fault developed well before that. I'm asking more for UK members here who know what recourse I have here - is it worth mentioning to the staff there that the Sales of Goods Act says that a mobile telephone should last much longer than the one year warranty, and as such they're obliged to replace it? Will they even have 3G's in stock as they no longer sell this model?
The lock/unlock button has a crack next to it. I am afraid it will get bigger. The phone is 2 months old, the crack is from locking and unlocking, extra insurance through FUTURESHOP does not cover it apparently (last time I buy from them). This should not happen, does blackberry stand behind their products

Just got a new iPhone 4 the other day. I was charging the phone and it fell, only a couple feet at most. There is a small crack in the back of the phone now, and it won't turn on anymore. My friend has a iPhone 4 as well and we swapped out the battery and the back housing (just to make sure that the crack didnt short anything out) but the symptoms persist.
I have it plugged into the wall charger now, tried doing a hard reset (holding home and power for some time) but nothing. This is very frustrating to think that the iPhone 4 is this fragile. Does anyone have any suggestions that I could try to get this device back up and running? Any help at all would be very appreciated.
I understand lots of people have had the same problem, but I just cannot find a solution which works for my Blackberry 8520!It has a white screen showing nothing, it boots once you put the battery in, and the only way to power it off is to take out the battery, I think it also keeps rebooting.I have replaced the screen - still white screen.I have re-installed the OS - still white screen
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Curve 8530. Several months ago, during daily use, the screen would all of a sudden go black. A battery pull would solve this problem for a while. Eventually this became more frequent. Symptoms progressed (it seemed that if I set the phone down too quickly it would reset) Finally, the phone would turn on, then go immediately to a white screen where it was undetectable by my computer. I contacted my service provider and they said the phone was toast and (amazingly enough) gave me a free loaner to use for the duration of my contract (all info transfered via an old backup, so nothing was lost) After my new phone was working I left my Curve plugged in at my office. Yesterday as I was leaving I looked at the phone again, and the screen was white and telling me to reload software 507.
I plugged it into my computer to begin the process and to my surprise the computer all of a sudden detected the phone and successfully upgraded the software. All looked great, I got past the password stage, and was just going to begin reloading my information when the screen faded to blank again. I still have the free loaner phone, so it's not a big deal, but it's bugging me as to what the problem could be. As of right now the computer can no longer detect the phone again
my dog got hold of my 8530 and put a toothmark in the screen cover. The screen was also damaged meaning I could see white and grey stripes. I bought a new screen and replaced the old one. Now when I turn it on, I get the white screen and i cannot dial out or recieve calls. Basically the phone is dead. I was able to connect to my desktop and install the latest OS version. I put the old screen back in and I still cannot recieve or dial. I must have done something while taking it apart or putting back together? It is a very simple procedure so I would think it difficult to screw it up. Before I took it apart, i could get phone calls and dial out but i couldnt see the outgoing or incoming call screen. I took the battery out before I took it apart. Now when I connect to my desktop, the connection comes and goes as if you were plugging and plugping in the device.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry 8520 curve suddenly hangs giving a white screen and when i restart it - the screen remains white. After i put it into charge - then only a successful start is done. So the only solution as of now i have - is whenever my blackberry hangs - i need to remove the battery - insert it again - and immediately put it into charging via USB/Electric-Power. Even if i re-insert the battery - the white screen comes - unless and until i put it into charging Earlier i was guessing - my battery was weak.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have performed security wipe for the 6th times now. I am literally fed up and I am 1 step away from throwing my bb out from my apartment.I travel often to many countries and it is normal for people who travel often to have multiple sim card. Here is what happened.1. Back at my home country, I turned the option for Data while roaming "ON" in case the internet access is needed to verify my BB ID at destination.2. Arrived. Changed SIM card. Blackberry ID screen pop up and that is the only blue screen I will see until the 10th attempt. I am very sure the id and password are 100% correct because I double checked it with my laptop. The blackberry website accepted my id and password. But my blackberry can't recognize it.
I hope those 3 points are enough to explain the problem I am facing. Saw another posting by 18pcs which suggested these:a. Wipe data everytime you change sim card (oohhh pleasseeeeee)b. Don't insert email password to Apps World (but how to download apps if i don't insert them into Apps World)c. Suggested by some other people on the same posting: Do Emergency Call to get temporary reception and key in id and passwordCan someone please get me out from the misery? The hopeless Blackberry technical support team (if there is any) is hiding somewhere and dare not step up to solve this issue cause I think many people out there are suffering from the same issue.
How do I get a screen name?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was watching a video on my curve, when suddenly the screen went blank. The device would not turn on after that., When i try to turn it on, nothing happens When plugged into the power source, the "msg light" flashes red and occasionally the screen has the charging symbol in the middle of the screen, but the battery bar never fills up.I left it for 2 hours on the charger, yet still the problem persists.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI put my Blackberry 8520 into repair because the scroller broke for the 3rd time. Anyway, I got it back yesterday and it works fine except there is a very small patch in the middle of my screen. It's not noticeable when I'm on my home screen, photos etc. only on the black screen when you lock your phone. However it is still there because whenever I apply pressure to the corners of my screen or even the spot it moves around And I see it moving. It gets bigger and moves when I touch it but then goes straight back to the same size as before and back to the middle When I let go. My friend suggested water was in it but I don't think so. It doesnt bother me that much only when its on my black screen.
