How i can activate the automatic screen and keypad lock when i put my phone into the leather holster? My BB before the 9320 did this automatically , i did not have to activate anything , the new one doesn't to do it. And i have tried more than one holster.

My old holster is finally giving in after 5 years and I can't find a replacement.The new holsters advertised for the Torch - DO NOT WORK!!!! The magnet is in the wrong place. Sure, it sleeps the phone on the way in but when the phone is fully inserted into the holster, the phones lights back up. It passes the magnet on the way down and then thinks it has been pulled out and lights back up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to set up my 5800 to work in the car as a music/navigation/handsfree device. I created a Car profile with ring volumes and other stuff set up just the way I want it. However, I cannot make the screen not to timeout and turn off. Basically, the automatic screen lock is deactivated and shouldn't get into way. When I plug the aux cable into the phone I select the Music Stand accessory which is the only one that has a Screen control setting. It is set to On, from the default Automatic. However, the screen goes black anyway, but the buttons stay lit.

If so, do i have to adjust this option for every sound (i.e. MMS, e-mail, alerts, etc)?Or there an easy way to adjust these settings? I'm not very familiar with the BBs so please be gentle.

Yesterday, it happened while I was talking on the phone and it cut off the call. I cannot find an option on my phone to turn this feature on/off. View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone keeps emailing and calling random people from my contacts, because I am carrying it in my back pocket. The phone is very easily unlocked accidentally as the unlock button sits on top of it, sticking out of the holster. I have even tried placing it upward down into the holster but it still easily unlocks through the holster.
What is the most efficient way to keep the the device locked for back pocket storage? I could set up a password, but as the number of bad password inputs is obviously limited, I also do not want to have accidental password input.
Is there a way to deactivate the unlock button on top and use a key combination instead? Or anything else?
I just upgraded OS5 on my 8520 but after upgrading I can't see keypad lock option anywhere. Before there was keypad lock icon in menu but its just vanished now and I even checked all the folders its nowhere. How can I get it back?

I have tried to unlock it using the lock key and also the * key but both dont work. I have also tried doing a hard reboot ( removing the battery and then turning on the phone. View 1 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded from bold 9000 to 9700. I upgraded my OS to version .743. After that, I stopped getting visual voice mail notifications. The message is there when I dial "1", but doesn't show up at all under the VVM menu, nor do I get the visual indication(s). It did work on the AT&T OS out of the box. Second issue with this O.S.- phone does not lock when it is in the holster. I have to believe both these issues are with the .743 version of the OS, but I may be missing something. I've read others with the VVM problem, not none of the threads seem to offer a solution except to say that AT&T WAS having issues with this back in November.
