View 1 RepliesMy phone does not ring or make any noises whatsoever. If someone calls, it will only vibrate. My profile is set to loud. Both in and out of holster are set to vibrate+tone. The only time I can hear sound is when the headset is in. I have tried removing the battery, but still no luck. There has not been any water damage to this phone. It was working fine for a while, and then one day it just stopped.

1. Profiles. Reviewed my Normal(Active) profile under the Profiles menu tab Advanced. Tried several options on the Phone settings, including Out of Holster: Tone, Vibrate+Tone, changed the Ring Tone, changed the Volume. Made sure Mute, None, or Do Not Disturb options were NOT selected. Nothing.
2. Chose a different profile, such as Loud. Nothing.
3. Turned the phone off, pulled the battery out and reinserted. Nothing.
4. Turned the phone on, pulled the battery out and reinserted. Nothing.
I just tried to play a music but it failed untill I pressed Menu and selected Activate Handset instead of Speakerphone and the music start to play. My version is 4.6.1.206
It is not my mute button, the volume is turned up and the settings are correct. It is also not related to use of headphones.

3. Spoke with Apple support > suggested to do phone restore through itunes> but no issue problem still exist. Â

when I plug my phone in at night or charge it, it will not ring it only vibrates if someone calls or texts me it will only vibrate. I have checked the slider button on the side its not stuck on anything like that, the sound settings are fine i have a ringtone for both calls and texts. I have called apple and they suggested to do a back up and restore which i have done that and the phone will ring with a call but not a text so i'm still having the same problem.? My husband has the same problem & we got the phones at the same time, ( we thought it was a setting and we weren't familar with them yet) I have looked online and havent managed to find a resolution to this issue yet.

About 6 weeks ago I went out, dropped my phone and the next day I noticed the ringer wasn't working. I pulled the battery after I had no idea what else to do and the ringtones/notifications worked again. However about every 5 or 6 days the same thing happens and I have to pull the battery. I also noticed that when I check the ringtone options whenever the ringtones fail the BB says "invalid ringtone, please choose anther ringtone"could it be that the loudspeaker is loose? It's not busted because it works most of the time and a battery pull seems to solve the issue.Just now I had to pull the battery again to get the ringtones sounding.

When I have my phone holstered, it only vibrates twice and does not ring (though I have it set to Always for the ringtone) for my MMS/SMS messages. When its out of holster, it will only do the default text messing sound. I am not sure how to fix this though I have rebooted it twice in attempts for the settings.

When someone calls me, my phone rings once and then there is a long delay before it rings again. My daughter has the Bold and she uses the same ringtone and doesn't have this problem. I always took the back of the phone off too so that it wasn't coming through 2 little holes through the top. However whenever I check for updates via the blackberry site the desktop manger pops up and does not offer this upgrade. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone is usually set on loud, but at least once a day it randomly stops playing my text message alert sound, and when I get a text, it starts vibrating endlessly and won't stop until I check the message. It's saying that my ringtones are invalid and won't play any of them. It also won't accept picture messages while it's in this mode. I can fix it by taking the battery out and putting it back in, but then I have to wait the 10 minutes it takes to turn back on, and this gets very annoying.
