This afternoon, i looked at my blackberry and i saw my LED flashing, and on the screen the little message symbol is at the top. This obvioulsy means i have a message. The strange thing is, i dont have a message, or at least i cant get to it.Any help? LED keeps flashing, and the little envelope icon is there, but i dont have any SMS messges or Email.
View 14 RepliesI have lost the SMS text icon overnight and the ability to receive and identify SMS messages. I removed the battery and all the obvious re-boot operations. But I have got the following message "Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointer Exception". Does this mean anything to anyone and is there an easy way to reinstate the facility?

Lately (last week or 2) I get the new message icon displayed, but when I open my messages folder the red asterick goes away but the envolpe icon still is there and the count goes up. Currently it says 4 but I do not have any unread emails, nor any unread facebook messages. The only way to 'reset' this is a battrr pull. But then it starts generating again. I just updated 4.6.1.319 hoping this would help but sstill the same problems. If any other info is needed please let me know.

I have seen people that have their SMS inbox show contacts then when you open it, it shows the whole conversation between you and them, more like BBM. I'm still a novice using it, but I am having a problem getting the yellow envelope icon that alerts you that you have new messages to go off. On the message envelope (or just above it) on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen; when I highlight it, it says, "1 messages". The yellow envelope is also on at this time. But when I open the message box or any of the other email boxes, there are no messages. Of course this is on the home page if I didn't mention that. I cannot find an email, sms or mms message (new) anywhere. Anyone have a suggestion?

I find the coverage were I live is terrible I am in the B73 postcode, this is Sutton Coldfield in the swest Mest Midlands, this was depite being told by the staff in the Phones 4U shop that the coverage was good, so any tips on this would be greatefully recieved, this however is not my masin gripe. When I first downloaded Ubertwitter it worked fine but now I have the following problem.The application Ubertwitter has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy.

For some reason on this model SMS's are showing as coming from 1 contact (when there are a lot more) and when you hit reply it replies to that 1 contact and not to the person who actually sent it. I can't see any problems in the settings that could be causing this. Obviously the last thing I want to do is rebuild the devices so can anyone think of what might be causing this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Curve 8900 locked to t-mobile which i unlocked with a code purchased via a website, everything is okay and working with the orange sim card apart from the MMS message service with appears to be missing from the menu, updating the software via the update service dose not make any difference, also to access the internet the webNwalk from t-mobile application is still there, although this is not a problem i wondered if there was a way to remove that and find out where the MMS option is.

View 7 Replies View RelatedLast night my battery was on the point of dying. It was in standby mode with the light flashing orange but when i went to press some buttons, nothing. It wouldn't respond to anything so i removed and re-inserted the battery (without having it on charge). When it did finally fire back up my home page was adorned with the message 'Uncaught Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException' (with a highlighted OK option). But it's completely frozen. I can't press ok. I can't scroll onto anything else. I can't turn off the handset, Ctrl Shift Delete doesn't respond. Nothing. I've replaced the battery numerous times, charged the phone, removed and reinserted the sim.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a bb curve 8300 from sprint and for 4 times in a row with two phones, i have an error message that pops up after taking out the battery. every time i get it the sprint store resets the phone and wipes all my contacts and calendar entries. this is getting very frustrating and making me want to get rid of my blackberry even though i like it a lot. once i get the error message is says resent under it and if you press it, it looks like its starting up again but then the error message comes up and that it. it just does it over and over again.

All was fine until yesterday afternoon when I took the battery out while it was still switched on to reboot as it was being really slow and it came back up with an error message: uncaughtexception: java.lang.NullPointerException and all my MMS have disappeared! Also when I go to my photos as if I were going to send one as an MMS the option to 'send as MMS' has gone?!
I called T mobile and they made me do something with the host routing table (?) in advanced options which had no effect and then basically said there is nothing they can do (marvellous!) and there are some pics and messages on there that are really important to me that I don't want to lose :-(
I don't have any kind of back up stuff (see? told you I was technical ;-) on my laptop as I don't know what to download or even if it will work?
I've not got any applications or anything on there and I haven't done anything different lately- does anyone have any ideas?
Im having loads of trouble with my 8900.. i did a battery pull, but when i restarted, i got the message uncaught expectation: net rim.device.api.system unsupported operation exception ... when i pressed ok, i couldnt see my sms, email, facebook or BBM. I did several battery pulls but its not working.. one of the times my SMS reappeared, but nothing else..

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a little problem, if we can consider this a problem. When i receave a SMS from a friend X, my Blackberry lag (the screen doesn't change, for like 0.5 sec). But when I receave a SMS from let's say Y, it can take up to 5 to 10 seconds before the screen move or I can move with the track pad to see the message. It's annoying.
So here is what I think, Is this because.. :
- I have over 35 000 SMS in the DB ?
- I have like 100 SMS from X and 5000 from Y ?
- My phone is on the vibrator but for Y he has a music ?
- Is this OS 5 ? But he is faster then OS 4 and I updated a while ago ?

i'vehad the "new email" icon at the top of my screen for a good few weeks now, deleted all my emails from both accounts, checked on my laptop not even any "junk" mail, deleted all my bbms, whatsapps and text messages. Its not a messag from app world or anything, its the icon for a new email. its doing my head in!

I've reset the phone and pulled up my BB Protect. It's gone! and now because of my messing around my Help file won't open.
