View 2 Replies View Relatedi just got my 8520 last aug 23. it was all working fine,until last night i was supposed to charge it. it charged at first then it turned off. it didnt turned on for a while. i took off the charger then it restarted..everytime i tried to charge it, it just keeps on restarting. no error message at all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOK so basically my blackberry curve 8520 will turn on fine, but it keeps restarting itself at random times when I play music or if I am half way through writing a message to someone, if it restarts when I am playing music it makes a funny loud noise. It is really starting to test my patients and it keeps restarting when I type to people. Sometimes the blackberry will go onto a white screen before restarting, sometimes it will just freeze and go off, then sometimes it will just go off with a flashing red light. View 3 Replies View RelatedI recenty cleared my phonne with the alt+lglg and cleared some other history stuff, and i seen a thing for memory cleaner and i enabled it and i figured that might save me some time, it prompted me before i closed it that memory cleaner would run when the phone had been rebooted and something else. but now my phone has been rebooted and it wont turn on it just keeps restarting over and over and over again. i left it over nihgt hoping it would be working in the morning and it still rebooted all night.

The phone does not unlock and restart. Instead, I have to manually unlock it and it prompts me to restart. Idk what to do. I want to have phone restarted when I don't need it. As in when I wake up and hop in shower.

I haven't noticed a pattern as to when it does this, and it doesn't seem to be a regular interval. I'll have it sitting next to me on the table, and suddenly it lights up, shuts down, and starts back up, and carries on as if nothing happened.

Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.

Today I pulled the battery after it restarted and when it started up again the battery life had come back, but it restarted itself again about 2 seconds later. Is my phone on its way out? View 1 Replies View RelatedI had my phone outside with me while i was swimming. my phone didn't get wet at all and was never in the sun, and was covered by a towel. however, when i went to go pick it up, it was in the process of restarting. when it finally got to the tmobile screen, it vibrated, then turned off and restarted again. it's been doing this nonstop. i've tried taking the battery out, plugging the phone in, then putting the battery in. keeping it on the charger while it restarts. letting it die completely from it restarting so much. and leaving the battery out for a few hours before putting it back in. however, none of it has helped. I've looked at other forums and help sites, but it all says it has to do with a new os. i haven't downloaded anything on to my blackberry in months. i've seen things about using desktop manager, but my computer is broken right now, too. :/ for awhile, my memory card kept saying that it had an error and needed to fix it on desktop manager, but again, i haven't been able to use my computer.

Now it constantly reboots, stays on for 5 seconds and reboots again. I have tried removing the battery, sim etc, nothing works. I've spent all day looking online and trying everything possible but nothing has worked. I've updated software, taken out the battery, left it on charge, left it off charge, taken out the memory card, wiped absolutely everything but nothing has worked. I can't make it to the o2 shop until Wednesday but would obviously prefer for it to be fixed before then.

I read to reload software using Desktop Manager, but ever since I tried doing it, it gets stuck when it's Loading Module "net_rim_cldc.cod" and right at the middle of this process the phone restarts. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.

We now have official word from RIM via press release today that unless you have a 9650, 9700, or Pearl3G you have to buy a new phone to get OS 6:"Subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead, the new OS is expected to be available for the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700, BlackBerry® Bold™ 9650 and BlackBerry® Pearl™ 3G, as well as future BlackBerry smartphones."
That being said, are you going to be dumping your 8520/30 for something new just to get OS6?
got a 8520 a couple of months ago, and after two weeks the phone speaker would break up when making a call, so you could only hear 1 in 3 words someone was saying, and inbetween was silence.T-mobile sent me a new one out next day, but now after 4 months the new one has started doing it.Can make calls fine with ear piece, speakerphone is working for playing music, haven't tried it for calls, and handset speaker works fine for music too, but breaks up when phoning anyoneThe second time it happened was just after okaying an upgrade. Anyone heard of this before?
