I have a blackberry curve 8520 and my BBm messages go through only in certain areas which is really starting to annoy me! It used to work at my house all the time but now my messages won't go through at all!
View 1 RepliesI encountered this problem a long time ago but it just recently became very disruptive.(first off, my phone is a BlackBerry Curve 8530)It appears that a bug causes the trackpad to stop scrolling past a particular area for whatever reason.Some time ago, I encountered this problem in my iheartradio app. I was unable to scroll through all of the genres to get to the one I wanted. I can't remember which, but for all intents and purposes, let's say there were 20 genres. I could scroll down through genres 1-15 but I could not scroll any further in order to get to 16-20. I never figured out why it did that, but the problem was "resolved" after I updated the app (because of the interface change). The problem went away becauses the list of genres were oriented in a very different manner.
Now, I have encountered this problem in the App World app.I was bored and started playing in App World and came across "iSpeech Translator" (which is No. 25 in the "Top Free" category). When it was installing, I hit the back button to go back to the "Top Free" list (did this cause the problem?) and now it appears that my phone became "stuck" at No. 25....in ALL categories. Top Free, Top Paid, New Arrivals, Top Rated....in all of them, I cannot scroll past the 25th app....and it is incredibly frustrating. I can only scroll from 1 to 25...and no further.I've tried reinstalling App World, downgrading App World, and pulling the battery but nothing has worked so far. I was unable to find a reference to my specific problem through Google so I'm not sure what to do.
I have had my curve 8520 for about three weeks and whenever i get a picture message i try to retrieve it and i dont get it. it says receiving message for a while but then it just goes away, other times it will wont receive the message for a long time then after a few hours i get it. why does it do this? why cant i get the picture message right away?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSince the last Verizon OS update I did Thursday, my 8530 can't sent SMS messages. It can get them, but not send. BBM is working and so is internet. Haven't tried MMS. I did a *228 update and registered with BB.... still not working. I feel like I've lost a limb not being able to text. It's forcing me to actually talk to people.

I tried changing my firewall and MMS settings, but this has still left me without any incoming MMS messages. It is supposed to be included in my plan with Rogers.

also on few occassion der r multiple instances of the same msg thread...for eg..if i receive msg frm Mr. X

Possibly text messages as well, but not sure.Basically, all my emails and messages arrive at once, usually after a long delay. Anyone know how I sort this problem out?I need my emails for work, so it's not very good! On a separate issue, when I use blackberry messenger, often I can not read what I am typing. I just is blank, but i can carry on typing and when I send whatever I have typed appears. This is a problem pretty much since I have had the phone, so I do not think is related with the more important problem mentioned earlier.I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 and am with Vodafone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my curve for a few months with no problems until tonight. I hadn't backed my phones info up for a couple of months so I thought I would do it earlier on today. I back everything up fine on my computer but the blackberry software crashed when it was trying to restore the info from my phone { I don't know why it was trying to restore everything cause I've never done that before.} so I tried to reinstall my backup onto my phone and it seemed to work. I switched my phone back on it was working, I tried to go onto facebook and I got "A connection cannot be established to the Facebook server." so I uninstalled the facebook app and waited for the phone to reset and reload. it took ages and about 3 battery removals to get the phone to load up to the password screen, and when it did get passed that, the phone wont let me click on my text message or email shortcut. I switched the phone off and saw a white screen with an error number of app err 523. My phone has been fine since I bought it until tonight.

View 7 Replies View Relatedmy phone is approx 2 years old and a few months ago developed a glitch in that it shows the number of the text messages I have, and the number is increasing despite the fact that I have deleted all texts from the phone. I noticed that when I switch the phone on after a period off, it adds new messages and shows them as "new" (with that sparkly sign at the corner of it). I wonder whether there is a way of deleting this misleading icon from the home-screen?

I set the inbox settings so that some of the email addresses do not show in the Messages inbox, however, they still show a small icon notification at the top tray when there are unread messages there.
How can I customize the unread messages notification tray icon so that it doesn't show unread emails from certain email accounts?

Problem 1:
New messages wont show up, I have to go into general messages and select "View Folder" > "SMS Inbox"
I have it set to combined simply because I just want all my messages in the main message folder but whenever a new message comes in I have to go into the SMS inbox folder.
Problem 2:
I'm having the same trouble with my email, I keep getting the notification come up for a new email but it is no-where to be found.
Problem 3:
I've set my blackberry to the Vibrate profile, the only time it seems to vibrate is when I get a new facebook notification and thats it.
Every once in a while I would get one SMS message from an unknown number which was spam. Today, for the last 4-5 hrs, I've been receiving numerous spam SMS msgs from 2 area codes in the Atlanta, GA area that are 3 different mobile numbers, and some of which are from the same repeating mobile number. Is there a way to block any spam text messages? I've just been deleting them, but didn't know if you can filter or block SMS msgs like you can with emails. I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 through AT&T

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my iPhone4 to iOS 5. There were no problems at first, but suddenly my screen hanged. After rebooting my phone, the touch interface was no longer working properly. Whenever i touched an area, a white frame would appear around the item touched. I would then have to press the area a few times in order for the number or letter to appear. Swiping doesn't work, everything else is very laggy.

I like it because when I am texting from apps like tlert or biteSMS, it verifies that the text was sent. This is useful for me in areas where I have poor service as a verification. Why do I need this? Because I have often sent a text, then gone back hours later to see that it never sent. This is due to a combination of poor service in certain areas and the fact that I usually keep the ringer switch set to vibrate.
I searched a long time trying to find something that would make my phone vibrate when the message was sent, but couldn't find anything, so I went into the files and figured it myself. I did this all in iFile, because it was way easier then through SSH - but you can do either one.
1.) open iFile/SSH into your phone.
2.) Go to System>Library>PrivateFrameworks>Celestial.Framework and open the file "SystemSoundBehaviors.plist"
3.)* Scroll down to:

There are all other sorts of sound behaviors that you look at it in there, such as when you flip the ringer switch (whether it vibrates or not).There are multiple settings for each action. Look at the keys: Ring or Vibrate? Or ignore? Silent or Vibrate? Or ignore. Is the ringer switch on or off? Or ignore?
Is it normal if my phone stalls charging when charged in areas above room temperature?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy XOOM returned from 4G upgrade refusing to search for WiFi once it has been allowed to connect 4G. I have experimented with many ways to improve this including changing from CDMA/LTE to CDMA only (just to test 3G connections), disabling the 'data enabled' setting, disabling WiFi too, then turning on WiFi both before and after blanking the screen, and trying all 3 options of when to change from 4G to WiFi (after screen blank, etc.). The only fix is a complete shutdown and cold boot for it to wake up and search for WiFi. The WiFi in question are the same I used before the 4G upgrade and nothing has changed but the XOOM hardware and presumably software. If it is restricted to WiFi only and I move from home to office to a public WiFi, it will happily switch back and forth UNTIL I coax it into a 4G connection. Then, it takes a cold reboot.

Messages - catchall for everything
Desktop email icon
2nd/personal email icon
However, I switched back to the Curve (8530) because of the keyboard, and now I don't have a primary desktop email icon. The only way to view work email is to use the messages icon where everything else goes as well. Is there any way to create or separate the two email accounts so I can view the work email separately?
Does anyone know how to hide the previous messages with your sms messages? My screen has the history of every text message sent between me and the reciepient as if we are in a chat screen. On the curve 8330 all you had to do was go to options-sms-number of previous items and change the setting. Under the help option and in the user manual for the 8530 it says to follow those exact directions but for some reason that option is not available for me when I go to options-sms. I contacted my service provider Verizon and they stated the option isnt available on this model. So why would it be under the help menu on the phone. Can anyone help me I hate to read days and days of text messages between me and another person if I make a mistake and scroll up. All I want to do is see the previous text message in the new text message screen.
