BB Curve 8520/8530 :: 8530 Active Call / Incoming Call Screen
Mar 6, 2010I'm really annoyed right now.No matter what theme I use on my Sprint 8530 5.0 OS the active call/incoming call screen is the ugly default screen.Can somebody please tell me how to fix it or is plazmic working on the issue?It really sucks to have cool themes and this one screen is all jacked up.

Apr 29, 2010I looked through the forum and couldn't find this question answered before, so please forgive me if it has.Is there any way to do away with the Home screen altogether? I'd like to be able to just have the Apps shown. I'm sure there's probably a theme out there to do it, but I'd rather not have to use a theme.

May 15, 2010I have a curve 8530. How do I change the icons on the home screen? Also, the messages icons, there are 2, one plain envelope and one envelope with a earth on it. Do the same messages from the earth one (which I assume means email) go into the plain envelope one which I think means ALL messages including BB PIN Messages? And then to other texts show up in the plain one?

Aug 10, 2010I have a Curve 8520, and suddenly tonight, I have a read message icon on the home screen that won't go away. I have no emails or messages at all on my phone anymore, and I cleared the messages from the advanced tab thingy on the desktop manager. I've done a battery pull, turned it off and waited a few minutes before turning it back on, and nothing has worked. I even tried sending a text message to my phone from my husband's, and it showed up as 2 messages on the icon, but when I deleted that new text msg, it went back down to 1 read message and is still there.

Feb 15, 2010I've had my 8530 for a little over a month, every once in awhile after I end a call the screen goes blank but when I use the track pad the screen comes back in sections. After I use the track pad to scroll upper left then upper right the bottom right and bottom left the screen is normal. Has anyone else had this issue?

It has a 3 and right next to it is a black circle with a red mark on upper right edge of circle. Almost resembles the old round cartoon bombs from years ago. Just showed up on my phone last week.

Jul 7, 2010Did a OS ugrade to 5.0.0.681 yesterday as advised by desktop manager when I connected, problem is now no matter how I configure my profiles the vibration is always there when a call,txt,email comes in-done a battery pull etc.
Some new features are good-others bad!-like when you press the top 'play' button all it does is unlock the fone-instead of playing what music was playing before!.
Any clues on the vibration-it's turned off in all profiles but still ruddy gyrates!.

Apr 17, 2010I recently bought a Blackberry Curve 8530 last month, and everything has been going smoothly up until the past week or so.Every time I hit the "End Call" button it results in the Blackberry typing out the letters "NM" repeatedly. If I keep hitting it, it just types out "Nmnmnmnmnmnmnm" ... I have tried a battery pull, multiple times. I've tried a software update. I don't know what else I can do to fix it.
It's driving me insane, I'm in love with my new BB (first time user!), but this is really killing the enjoyment. I've read about this problem with other phones and I'm worried it might move on to other letters and keys, forcing me to not be able to use the phone at all.If anybody can help me I'd greatly appreciate it. I've combed these forums for hours looking for a solution, but to no avail. Someone want to give a BB newbie a break?

Dec 15, 2011The other day I updated my Quick Pull app. I forgot to reset the times in which i wanted it to reboot. Last night I remembered and set the time. I normally set it for 3, but since it was 3 it wouldn't be able to reboot until this evening. After I was done with my phone, I rebooted it manually by going to the app and clicking reboot. My battery was also low in the red so I stuck the charger in it. When I woke up this morning my phone was dead, if had fell on the floor and the charger came out. I put the charger back in a waited a little while for it to charge. When it came on, it only went to the Cricket screen, but would not go to the home screen. I took the battery out multiple times, I waited patiently, yet my phone is still stuck on the cricket screen.. Is there anyway to reset it so that it can work again?

Feb 16, 2010What's the best way to get rid of the dust under the screen of a 8530? I recently noticed this and my carrier said it was caused by dust getting in through the speaker area on top of the phone and that there was nothing they could do, they tried using a canned air, but didn't budge. I asked both U.S. Cellular and Verizon reps what I should do and they say that I need to replace the phone. (Contact my Insurance Company, which is DTS Insurance I believe my carrier uses.)
So far to correct the issue I've applied a case that covers up most cracks and a privacy protector which made it so I can see the dust under the screen. but, still I'd like to know how to fix the issue.
So far the only thing I can think of is to take the housing apart and probably just put a new housing on, but clean the lcd underneath the plastic screen.
