my phone is on silent now. does the light only flash on vibrate and loud? because it usually flashes each time i get a message/bbm, but not it doesnt. i just switched from vibrate to silent.. could that be why?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI installed the BB desktop manager for Mac yesterday, and this morning connected to remove some apps, create some space, and install all the updates. In the process of this it mysteriously just stopped doing anything right after it said "database cannot be backed up" and shut off. Now it's flashing red twice, pausing for about 2 seconds, and repeating the flashing. I pulled the battery and sim even though I was sure that wouldn't do anything, plugged it back into my laptop, plugged it into the wall both with and without the battery, and nothing has changed. The desktop manager doesn't not recognize the device at all.
I'm using a Curve 8330. Is there anything I can do or am I screwed totally? Also, and I know this is a long shot, but what are the odds that I can restore the device and save the data that's on it?
I have had my curve for a little over two months now && havent yet had really any problems until about a week ago...I've noticed that out of seemingly nowhere, the red LED light will start blinking like I have a message or something and when I check to see if there are any new messages, there arent. I still get new messages and everything works correctly as far as I can tell, but that damn light will start blinking out of nowhere and it annoys me and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to stop it. the only thing that fixes it is a battery pull and it happens probably every other day. i have smrtguard installed on my phone and idk if maybe the light blinks when its doing an antivirus sweep on my phone or what.

I just upgraded from the 8330 Curve, to this one and so far I am highly disappointed!My friend who has an iPhone said BB is trying to be more like it. From the layout of the texts to the options. It's frustrating! If I wanted an iPhone, I would have bought one...I like the BB for the features it has not for being like the iPhone.Sorry, I got a bit rant-y but I cannot believe this new version doesn't have a flash. Hope I'm overlooking something!

I charged it throughout the whole night and when i woke up this morning it wont switch on. The red light just comes on for about 10 seconds. My T-mobile 8320's trackball has learned the new trick of only working when the phone is in bright light!The symptoms: If the keyboard light is on, the trackball doesn't work. If the keyboard light is off, the trackball works normally. The trackball light never goes off, but stays at least dim even when the screen is blanked and the keyboard light is off. In fact, it is on even when the phone is in the holster.The phone has never been abused, nor experienced water or anything.
I've done the battery pull to no avail, and played with the keyboard/trackball settings and the backlight settings with the same results.T-Mobile says to try a master reset. I'll do that after I figure out what data is on my phone that will need replacing.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI updated my Blackberry 8900 Curve over the weekend to v5.0.0.1036(Platform 5.2.0.104) Provider is [URL] This updated was offered when connecting my device to BlackBerry Desktop Application.
After this update successfully took place I discovered the problem that the upper top right button (usually used to mute) does not send my device to standby anymore when being pressed longer than 3 seconds. This function worked perfectly prior to this update. Unfortunately I did not know on what version I was before, but as I`m doing updates on a more of less regular base I assume it was the prior available one.
Together with this problem I discovered something that is also working different than before. When I press the keyboard lock button (upper top left button) the lock now gets activated directly and the screen turns black. Before this update took place the owner details were showing up when pressing this button and the screen turns dark after the defined time to go off. The owner details are added correctly and show up when going to properties-owner.
I did a secure delete (security options - security delete) of the device and started from scratch twice already, but the problem remains the same.
Is there any way to get at least the standby working again. I´m using an case-mate holster with build in battery allow me to recharge my BB when no power plug is avail. Unfortunately this one does not have a magnet that send the device to standby automatically when plugged into the holster, so this manual standby option is important for me to extend battery life.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi've never had this problem until recently. i'll go to Internet's mobile site, perform search, etc. and when i go to click on the video, nothing happens. the browser doesn't open the media player at all. i've tried with my native browser and evn with opera mini, which ultimately requires the native browser anyway. i don't remember changing any particular settings on my browser so i couldn't imagine why i would have this issue. any help would be appreciated. just to reiterate, i don't even so much as an error message. nothing happens at all when i try to play the video. it just stays on the same page.
