BB Curve 83xx :: Why Doesn't Red Light Flash Anymore?
Jan 17, 2010my phone is on silent now. does the light only flash on vibrate and loud? because it usually flashes each time i get a message/bbm, but not it doesnt. i just switched from vibrate to silent.. could that be why?

Jan 25, 2010I used the program MaxMem to try and get a little more memory out of the curve.I deleted the ringtones, I made a back up like it repeatedly asks, but the backup did not back up the sounds, I of course didn't know that till after the fact... Now my bb has no sound at all and is kinda acting goofy.Is there anyway to get these sounds back, a package somewhere or whatever? If I put on a new OS would that do it?

Mar 25, 2010My friend upgraded my sister's OS with v5.0.0.509 (bundle {18}, Platform 3.5.0.44) and I just discovered that is also wiped out all the Sample ringtones on the Device Memory. Anyone know where I can download that ringtone bundle, or transfer from my 8330 (although the device memory sample ringtones are "read only")? Or, do I have to reload an OS. If that's the case, any tips on websites with a v5. FYI: I'm using a Mac.

Jan 31, 2011I updated my Blackberry 8900 Curve over the weekend to v5.0.0.1036(Platform 5.2.0.104) Provider is [URL] This updated was offered when connecting my device to BlackBerry Desktop Application.
After this update successfully took place I discovered the problem that the upper top right button (usually used to mute) does not send my device to standby anymore when being pressed longer than 3 seconds. This function worked perfectly prior to this update. Unfortunately I did not know on what version I was before, but as I`m doing updates on a more of less regular base I assume it was the prior available one.
Together with this problem I discovered something that is also working different than before. When I press the keyboard lock button (upper top left button) the lock now gets activated directly and the screen turns black. Before this update took place the owner details were showing up when pressing this button and the screen turns dark after the defined time to go off. The owner details are added correctly and show up when going to properties-owner.
I did a secure delete (security options - security delete) of the device and started from scratch twice already, but the problem remains the same.
Is there any way to get at least the standby working again. I´m using an case-mate holster with build in battery allow me to recharge my BB when no power plug is avail. Unfortunately this one does not have a magnet that send the device to standby automatically when plugged into the holster, so this manual standby option is important for me to extend battery life.

I have send it to t-mobile, they send it to blackberry , multiple times, but they can't fix it. Now they say that blackberry blocked wifi and you can only go online when you pay for it. Mar 11, 2010I am curious about BB Desktop Manager 5.0. My Curve 8310 came with BB Tools but it is version 4.3. I downloaded 5.0 from BB website and when I plugged in my 8310 with software version 4.5.0.153 it displayed about a dozen updates to my phone. I declined the updates for now because I didnt want to hack up my phone. Is it ok to update with the 5.0 version or should I stick to the 4.3?

Jan 21, 2010I am using a Verizon BB 8330 (refurbished) with Appalachian Wireless.My data plan does not work with BIS or BES.App. Wire. shoots me the service books, but says that Verizon has some sort of lock in my phone that won't allow my phone to work online. I contacted verizon and they said they do not use locks on phones. I use opera mini 4.2 to access internet.I can not download any apps ota because I always get the message from blackberry that no browser has been configured.I can not download any apps with DM using an ota downloader because I can not find the 'URL to .jad' files. BB Curve 83xx :: Compose Gmail Address Not Default Work Address
Feb 18, 2010I have multiple email addresses on my phone (Work, School (2), and Gmail). I have set my work email as the default under default services under advanced options. If I am in messages and I use the menu to compose a new email, the correct default email (work) is used.
However, if I am browsing my files, like a picture, and I use the menu to select send as email, it will attach it to a new email but it will be my Gmail address, not my default work address as the from address.
I have double checked and my work email is set as the default. Does anyone know how to fix this? This is not a battery pull problem either... It has been this was since I got the phone, and on my replacement as well. I reboot the phone often so its not the standard do a battery pull answer.

May 15, 2011The version 3.1.1.21 for the BlackBerry App World is not working for my BlackBerry Pearlâ„¢ 3G 9105. The problem is that I cannnot fully access to the app, because it frozes! Furthermore (and consequently I think) my network does not work anymore. I mean that the browser web is ok (and I can surf, even if at low speed), but all the applications do not work properly. And even when I am trying to download the official app world (again) from the official site it won't work. To download 2MB it will take all night long! This is not possible. Another example: the maps are not working anymore and the roads appear after a long time. It is not a problem of the mobile carrier!!! What should I do? I am desperate because I cannot use my phone anymore! I also tried to return to the previous version of the app but the problem hasn't disappeared yet!
I tried to re-install the software (v. 6.0.0.668) but had the same problem. Then tried again and deleted the file "Device" from C/Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader (not the "vendor" file because it does not exist). But anything happened! Thought it would have re-installed the previous version of the App World but it did not! I am really desperate because I do not know what to do.

Feb 3, 2010I do have a N97 mini for some weeks now (non-branded phone bought in Germany) and until today it worked fine.Since today the USB connection to a PC does not work anymore -- after connecting the N97 mini to a PC the PC does not recognize the new USB device and there is no selection menu on the N97 mini. In addition there's no message on the phone that the battery is charging.
I tried this with different USB cables and different PCs - on both PCs the USB connection worked before without problems.I can still charge the batterie with the normal charger (which also connects to the USB port).What can I do to fix this error?
