I just installed Vlingo 4.5 and now the missed call, calendar etc icons no longer appear at the top of my screen. I have done a battery pull and when booting up the icons will flash up on the screen but then disappear again. Has this ever happened to anyone? Anyone know how to fix this?

I'm new to the site, I just got my first blackberry about a week ago, an 8330 on the virgin mobile network here in Canada.I have already done the upgrade to OS 5.0, and love the differance. a friend of mine who has a Storm found vlingo app, but they want to charge 19.99 for a year of service. I have searched the forums some now and can't seem to find a free version that works on my phone. just wondering if someone might know where i can find it, or atleast a free alternitive?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI had my 8310 formatted lately and got a Ver 4.5.0.182 installed on the same. The PDA works fine and the software seems to work properly. However from the time I have got my phone back, there is no network coverage on the phone. Tried everything in the network connection. Tried manual too but it just does not get any network coverage. I did a wipe handheld to reset it o factory setting. Still the same. Even used different SIM cards to check if that would work.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen you want to delete an email, you usually get the 'Delete From Handheld & Mailbox', 'Delete From Handheld', or Cancel. All I get now is Delete or Cancel. My email reconciliation is set to delete on prompt, wireless reconcile is on, and on conflicts is set to mailbox wins. However, I am not being prompted. What is confusing is that on some emails it asks and on others it is not asking. I tried battery pulls, deleting and readding the email address. I only have a personal email and not business.

I've had my Curve BB for over a month with little to no problems (it stopped 'pushing' to my custom email a couple weeks ago, but I researched and resent the service books, etc. and it worked fine after that). Now, however, it has dropped/removed my two custom email icons. Poof. Gone. One minute they were there, the next, gone. I've already checked to make sure they weren't hidden. They're not. I went into email setting again and it no longer even showed them as having been set up - one of them being my home email that is pushed to my BB and the second being my BB email itself.
Is it possible to rename the icons for apps that I've installed?
I recently added "Business Calendar" but the icon shows up as "Business C" where the "C" looks like a crescent waning moon (or New moon in the Southern Hemisphere)
I'd like to be able to rename it to just "Calendar", if that is possible.
I just got my 9700 from Rogers, it came with OS v5.0.0.743 on it. However, I can't find the icons for BB Maps, Application Center, and AppWorld ! I checked in the "Applications" and it says they are installed.

When updating my apps in the App Store I no longer see the app's icon and all related fotos within the updated app.
The app is updated and works fine.
All apps updated before 01DEC2014 are displayed properly in the App Store.
On my iPad running on iOS 8.1.1 everything is fine, too.

I performed a factory reset today to remove MySpace from my phone (I was unable to remove it any other way) and now I am having an issue with my phone.A number of my notification icons are now showing in gray instead of in color. The two that stand out the most are email notifications from POP emails (the red stamp) and from Gmail. Each of these now shows as a gray icon. This is minor, but annoying that my phone is behaving differently than it should. I am running 2.3.4 and have tried multiple resets (full resets removing all data and media)

I have deleted it from the applications list and do not see it in the modules list but the icon still shows.I also have icons that have the "Hide" checked but are not really hidden. Awesome feature if you ask me, but there is one huge drawback to such a feature it is easy to leave on. This morning I wake up to my phone quite literally yelling email messages at me. When I attach the USB cable to the BB the system tray does not pop up with a notification that says "found new hardware" like it normally does when you plug a BB in. When the phone boots up it displays error msg " JVM Error 513". I attempted to looking into the device by using "cracmem" and "JL_Cmder" and no data is to be found and thus there is nothing to wipe. I suspect that the device has already been wiped thus the no data. I have pulled the battery from the phone and reinstalled; unplugged the usb cable during the BB boot process and nothing is happening. The DM application loader will not allow me to procede due to computer not recognizing the BB device thus it is not generating the "USB:UNKNOWN".
View 7 Replies View RelatedI installed the BB desktop manager for Mac yesterday, and this morning connected to remove some apps, create some space, and install all the updates. In the process of this it mysteriously just stopped doing anything right after it said "database cannot be backed up" and shut off. Now it's flashing red twice, pausing for about 2 seconds, and repeating the flashing. I pulled the battery and sim even though I was sure that wouldn't do anything, plugged it back into my laptop, plugged it into the wall both with and without the battery, and nothing has changed. The desktop manager doesn't not recognize the device at all.
I'm using a Curve 8330. Is there anything I can do or am I screwed totally? Also, and I know this is a long shot, but what are the odds that I can restore the device and save the data that's on it?
I've had my 8330 Curve with Verizon since November 2008. Very happy with it. I also happen to still be using OS 4.3.0.127 (202), which is what the unit came loaded with. I never bothered upgrading because I would always hear of people having issues or DM only backing up your contacts and not your apps, lower music volume, etc. I don't really need Docs To Go, but HTML e-mail would be nice and the biggest thing is trying to improve these BBM delays I constantly get when trying to send a message. I'm thinking an upgrade to the latest BBM might help change that.
Of course, in order to do that, I need to upgrade to 4.5. So I've decided to do it, but not before I ask for feedback here. I've scanned dozens of other threads here, all with varying opinions. It's been long enough. Is it wise to do this and, if so, what is the latest OS for VZW (is it .138)? What risks am I really running here? Need a reality check on this.
I don't know if this is possible or not so I thought I would ask here, is it possible to alter the way the menu functions in the blackberry curve? in example, what I want to do is like when I send a sms text message and when I hit the trackball and the menu options come up, the send button is highlighted, and what I would like do is modify it so that the check spelling is highlighted first and then send button is right below it, is it possible to do this or is this an internal Blackberry Software modification?
