Previously when using Vlingo Voice Command in "Driving Mode"... When asking the phone to make a call it would do so and automatically use speaker phone... Since the update to ICS I now have to switch the speaker phone on manually (Even when using Voice Command Driving Mode).. This now means my phone is not hands free

But I'm having an issue when it comes to receiving incoming calls.The phone always reads out the contacts name out loud, I've already deselected driving mode but it still keeps reading out all incoming calls which is really annoying.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my phone since black friday, and just yesterday started having a strange problem with it. It was in my pocket and it vibrated once so I checked what it was and it said "MTP initialization" at the top and "Charging" at the bottom, which is what it does when I plug it into my computer or charge it. It seemed weird to me because it definitely wasn't plugged into anything at all, it was in my pocket. When I got home, I plugged it into the charger for about 2 hours.then when I unplugged it, it did the same thing, but it kept doing it. It'd look like I plugged it into my computer when I didn't, and then a few seconds later the "charging" and everything would go away and it would say "Running Media Scanner" which is what it says whenever I unplug it from the computer. Since that time yesterday, it has literally been doing this every few seconds, cycling between thinking it's plugged into a computer and then being unplugged.In addition, for a while yesterday, the Voice Command kept opening and closing on it's own, not sure why. It seems to have stopped doing that now, but it keeps doing the charging/media scanning thing. I can actually use it when it's doing this thing, it just keeps vibrating every few seconds which gets annoying, and slows the phone down a little bit. But when the voice command thing kept opening and closing every few seconds, it was almost unusable because every time I'd try to do something, it'd cut out and go to the voice command.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLast night, I saw an article about driving mode and thought I'd set it up on my 1020 to try it out. (It would let me stop notifications of texts while I'm driving, but still take Bluetooth calls.)
Today, my phone wouldn't connect to my car's Bluetooth. I decided to disable driving mode as it was obviously causing the problem, but the on/off option was greyed out.
Eventually, after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, I decided the only option was to reset the phone to go back to driving mode not being set up. You can imagine what a hassle that was. But the phone still doesn't recognise my car, or, it seems, any other Bluetooth devices.
It is galling, because my new car (a Mini Cooper) doesn't have a Cd player, so Bluetooth is the only way I can play music.
All of the sudden my driving mode stopped working. I checked the Moto settings and it is checked. It just stopped out of the blue.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo my fiancee got an iPhone this weekend, and we also picked up a Plantronics BT headset at the store as well. I asked the sales rep which one would work well with the iPhone, and he didn't seem to ahve any preference and said anything should work. Well, unfortunately, it doesn't work with the iPhone's voicedial. When you press the button on the headset, it doesn't do anything unless you're answering a call. And I know it has nothing to do with being a cheap headset because I have a really cheap Southwing, probably cheaper than the Plantronics, that I got someplace for my old phone, and that works great. Can anyone recommend a ~$40 headset that works?

I have had my 8520 for 7 months, and within the last two weeks it started acting up when I tried playing music.Anytime I plug in the head phones it automatically asks me to "say a command" for the voice activation. Which is not something I use. It also doesn't always switch from speaker phone to headset and I have to manually switch to my output of choice, and last but not least when the "say a command" option appears I cancel it and then my MP3's play at a slower audio rate (or half the speed of the actual music). Turning off the device doesn't help and it seems to only correct itself when I do a reset (by removing the battery).

I was told it's not the phone, but possibly need to take it in to the dealer and it may not be compatible.
