IPhone 4 :: IOS 7.1.2 / Turn Off Voice Command
Aug 26, 2014While working I carry my iPhone in my pants pocket. When bending or lying on the floor which I have to do, the Home Button gets pushed and Voice Command is activated. It randomly calls someone or plays a song. How do I disable the Voice Command?

Aug 27, 2011Before I acquired a Nokia E51 and later on upgraded to E55 I had a great 6300 Nokia phone. One of my favourite features of 6300 was the voice recorder that worked in the background so that you could switch it on, then go back to the home screen and then do whatever, change the profile, check messages or even make a phone call, and it would still be working recording everything.
Unfortunately newer is not always better and both E51 and E55 have a downgraded (or buggy?) voice recorder that will pause whenever you go to the home screen. So say, you are recording a discussion at a seminar, then a message or email arrives and you have no way of checking it without pausing the recorder. For me it is the most annoying "feature" in those phones.
The question is then, does anyone know a replacement voice recording software that will work regardless of what you are doing with the aforementioned phones in the meantime?

Dec 25, 2011i did a hard reset of my nokia e72 and now realised that Voice Recorder application does not exists aymore in my phone. it is simply gone from mobile. i used search feature/ looked inside application, office, control center folders but it is simply ot there...i dont know what happened to it

Apr 26, 2012I have added the Voice cmds shortcut to a home screen as advised on another thread, to allow voice commands to be used after updating the E7-00 to Belle. Whenever I tap on Voice cmds there is a beep and a popup appears, saying "Voice commands cannot be used at the moment".I can see that Martin is present in the Phone Setup speech settings and that he is ready to speak in English (UK).

Jun 29, 2012The pre-installed Text-to-speech language is English (UK), and when I was first testing the phone, there were two Voice options, "Ellen" and "Martin", both listed as "built-in". Today, upon trying this feature again, only "Ellen" was present. I do not believe that I have accidentally deleted "Martin". I have, however, updated the phone software using PC Suite (to 071.003). I have tried installing the downloadable voice file, but receive an "Update error" when I do. I am able successfully to install other language packages and their associated voices. Mar 17, 2011Frequently when trying to turn the phone off, the keyboard would become backlit, and then phone was "stuck". Pressing the power button just generated the normal "vibrate", but would not turn off or on. Battery had to be removed.I got fed-up, called Vodafone support, who decided to ship me a replacement phone. In the past 2 weeks that I have had the new phone, the same problem has occurred 5-6 times.My wife's E72 had similar problem, but without the keyboard light on.I have only one new "app" on my phone - "SmartConnect", and my wife has no apps on hers (other than pre-loaded).

Feb 8, 2012I've had my phone since black friday, and just yesterday started having a strange problem with it. It was in my pocket and it vibrated once so I checked what it was and it said "MTP initialization" at the top and "Charging" at the bottom, which is what it does when I plug it into my computer or charge it. It seemed weird to me because it definitely wasn't plugged into anything at all, it was in my pocket. When I got home, I plugged it into the charger for about 2 hours.then when I unplugged it, it did the same thing, but it kept doing it. It'd look like I plugged it into my computer when I didn't, and then a few seconds later the "charging" and everything would go away and it would say "Running Media Scanner" which is what it says whenever I unplug it from the computer. Since that time yesterday, it has literally been doing this every few seconds, cycling between thinking it's plugged into a computer and then being unplugged.In addition, for a while yesterday, the Voice Command kept opening and closing on it's own, not sure why. It seems to have stopped doing that now, but it keeps doing the charging/media scanning thing. I can actually use it when it's doing this thing, it just keeps vibrating every few seconds which gets annoying, and slows the phone down a little bit. But when the voice command thing kept opening and closing every few seconds, it was almost unusable because every time I'd try to do something, it'd cut out and go to the voice command.

Jul 2, 2011Done a few of these now on my E72 so thought it would be plain sailing. Wrong. The process obviously froze, I gave it plenty of time. The screen said if necessary remove battery etc and reconnect USB lead which is what I did.The phone is now dead other than vibrating as you turn it on. I've tried a hard reset by holding shift, space and backspace while powering up but nothing (other than the vibrate).

May 25, 2010So my fiancee got an iPhone this weekend, and we also picked up a Plantronics BT headset at the store as well. I asked the sales rep which one would work well with the iPhone, and he didn't seem to ahve any preference and said anything should work. Well, unfortunately, it doesn't work with the iPhone's voicedial. When you press the button on the headset, it doesn't do anything unless you're answering a call. And I know it has nothing to do with being a cheap headset because I have a really cheap Southwing, probably cheaper than the Plantronics, that I got someplace for my old phone, and that works great. Can anyone recommend a ~$40 headset that works?
