BB Curve 83xx :: Att Icons Missing / Limited Apps?
Feb 5, 2010
Missing all icons . Limited apps. I can get to a few applications by hitting call button then going to menu and switch applications. Guy at ATT store suggested I try this Web sight. They had no solution for me at ATT.
I booted my phone in safe mode and when I returned into normal mode many of my apps' icons are missing. They are missing both from the home screen as well as the app drawer. They are still installed. I can open them through Google play and I still get notifications. I tried a cache partition wipe with no luck. how to get them back?
I just bought a Tour used. I havent activated it yet but through my laptop I installed all my info (contacts etc..) through the desktop manager. The service provider is Sprint. I have noticed that there are some apps/icons missing from the menu. Most importantly there is no web/internet icon/app and no BlackBerry app world icon/app. There are also others missing, Pandora, Sprint Nav, Sprint TV and a few others. These I am pretty sure I can download for free, but what about the web and app world? Why are they missing? Is it because the phone is not activated yet?
I just installed Vlingo 4.5 and now the missed call, calendar etc icons no longer appear at the top of my screen. I have done a battery pull and when booting up the icons will flash up on the screen but then disappear again. Has this ever happened to anyone? Anyone know how to fix this?
So by mistake I deleted some folder On my Blackberry Curve 8330 and now I have NO icons on my phone at all. I can't use my left "quick access" key but when I type in a contact name everyone is there. Also my camera seems to work. Tho there are NO icons at all, none... I totally broke it!?
The best part I don't have the software at all. I have no idea where the CD is now. There is no back up, I never backed my phone up. I think all my info is there, but there are just no icons to click on.
Just downloaded a new theme from App World, my Facebook, Twitter and Call Log Icons have diappeared, does anyone know how to get them back and keep the new theme
the BB 9360 of my friend fell and the screen broke. It was fixed in 24h and an complete clean up was also made on the phone. Now, the problem is that there are some icons missing, like the blackberry icon, the app world icon, social feed icon, whatsapp & FB. (the latter two are not so important of course). How do I do to find and install them again?
A few days ago, I noticed my default calculator is missing. The icon is not hidden or anywhere to be found. I've tried searching for outside apps. to install, but they're all so much more advanced and I just want something simple. Is there any way I can re-download the native calculator or find it somewhere on my device?
Might anyone know why, when I'm in my browser and I hit menu, the option 'Go To' is sometimes not there? Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't . . What's the deal? It isn't there now for example, so I can only go to pages that are either in my history or my bookmarks. Anyone know why, or have this problem also?
Ok, my SMS icon has disappeared for no particular reason. Nothing I've seen in other threads is helping. I have an 8330 from NTelos. I also keep getting the "nullpointer" exception after battery pulls.
-It is NOT hidden
-It is NOT combined
-battery pull does nothing
-the software is updated
-'restore theme defaults' did not fix it
-changing from 3rd party theme to stock theme did not fix it
-re-registering with the network did not fix it
-uninstalling/reinstalling BBM does not help
anything else i can reasonably try before i throw it out the window?
this morning I took my phone off charge and it crashed like I'd taken the battery out but I hadn't.It got stuck on the O2 loading page and wouldn't turn on so took the battery out and it did the same thing getting stuck on the O2 screen. I found that if you turned it off and on with the power off button it would turn on.After it turned back on lots of the icons were missing, BBM, Browser, Facebook, Emails, Profiles icon (for changing from vibrate to silent etc) and other things that I can't remember just know there's more than that missing as the folders and menu are very empty.I can now get to BBM and the browser using the switch applications menu and they work fine so the applications don't need reinstalling the icons have just disappeared.
I've looked for them in the folders and checked the 'show all option' and changed the theme back to the original and still nothing. Also done lots of restars taking battery out and waiting etc. I haven't upgraded anything recently so can't have been that changing any settings. Also I don't have the cable to attach phone to the computer to back it up and reset to factory settings Really hoping there's a different way as the applications are there and work fine just need to find the icons?
I am missing many icons on my brand new 8530 Curve BB, like the lock icon, call log icon, bluetooth icon, Setting Icon etc etc, how can I load these? is there a website I could download them from?
is anyone having a problem when you plug the usb cable in to charge the phone/sync whether it be wall charger or computer connection, after un-pluging the cable some icons disappear on the home screen just a tool icon is visable? and when you press it message pops up *linked app not installed on phone*? then i have to re-boot twice and the icons and apps on homes screen go back to normal and the app is usable?
First off when I take my phone out of lock or wake up it from sleeping the icons are missing till i wipe my finger across the screen.. its weird to explain but its kinda like i have to swipe the whole screen for the icons to be visable the same thing happens when my phone goes to sleep and the keyboard is open.. any ideas?
and another thing is sometimes ill be writting a msg and my phone will make 3 beeping prompting type of noise any idea what this is?
I have a BlackBerry 8330 and I am having problems with my SprintTV, NFL Mobile Live App, etc where I cannot watch any video or audio from those apps. I took it into a Sprint Tech Store, and they thought that maybe it was becuase I either had an after market App that was interfereing with the audio/video feeds, or that I was simply using too much memory and it was interfereing with the audio/video. Tehy couldn't tell me where to look for the Device Memory and had no idea how much it came with out of the box and how much I was using.
I need to know how much Device Memory comes on a BB 8330, where to look in my BB to find out how much I'm using, and need to know if there are any suggestions or tricks I can perform to free some up without deleting too many apps (if that's even possible). From the other forum answers I've read, I don't think there's a way to free space without deleting content. I see Device Memory in my Options, but it only says: File Free: 27080648 Bytes
Is that a lot left, or is that close to being depleted? Is that actually the Device Memory, or is that something else? There's nowhere that tells me how much I started with.
Tired of manually pulling the battery and don't want to take up memory space with an app such as quick pull/restart me ? Well there's a way. Just hold Alt + (right) Shift and Del (Alt + Shift + Del). This will force the BB into performing a restart. And I think now the secret is out that apps like quick pull and restart me do nothing more than what I just explained. They simply press a few keys for you and restart your phone.
I have a curve and I want to sell it. I tried to wipe handheld and when I did the wipe the apps were not wiped, I saw a post about dialing ##000000 and some setting I can do to wipe the apps, but no clear discreption. Anyone have any ideas on wipeing this apps not one by one so I can sell this phone.
I have touch BB curve 9380, suddenly the options in any app have disappeared. E.g: Messages have no option of forward, reply etc., getting highlighted.
I am having problems installing the latest Maps. It insists on loading into the C: I have tried Memory Reorganiser and I have set Ovi Store to load apps to E: but every time it loads to C: I have firmware firmware version 20.0.019. Does anybody have any suggestions please.
I'm kinda new to Blackberry, been toying around with my BB8310 and was trying to organize the applications into folders and such. I've searched and read thru some tutorials and stuff on how to do it. However, whenever I press the menu or alt + trackball when I highlight the application, there's only the "move" option. There's no "move to folder" option. What am I missing here? I am on a BB8310 with OS 4.5. Can someone please enlighten me. Sorry if this has been discussed before. I did a search on this in the forum itself and didn't find anything.
I replaced a Torch, 9800, with a replacement unit. All seems to work except the icons on the bottom of the bbm screen. They are normally "send", view contact info" etc. However, I just show a single star in the middle bottom where the icons should be.
I am using Wanam lite custom rom and for some reason, the arrows indicating that there is a data activity are not showing up. There is also no data icon like 4G/3G/R etc to show that I am connected to the internet.
My data is on as I can browse and internet is working fine but this is important as well. I have tried changing LTE value to 4G in CSC features but that did not work....
My daughter recently inherited an env2.In playing around with the phone, she somehow "hid" all of the icons/indicators (battery, 1x and EVDO).I cannot figure out what she did. I've tried a battery pull to no avail. Any idea of how to "unhide" these?
