I booted my phone in safe mode and when I returned into normal mode many of my apps' icons are missing. They are missing both from the home screen as well as the app drawer. They are still installed. I can open them through Google play and I still get notifications. I tried a cache partition wipe with no luck. how to get them back?
View 3 RepliesI just bought a Tour used. I havent activated it yet but through my laptop I installed all my info (contacts etc..) through the desktop manager. The service provider is Sprint. I have noticed that there are some apps/icons missing from the menu. Most importantly there is no web/internet icon/app and no BlackBerry app world icon/app. There are also others missing, Pandora, Sprint Nav, Sprint TV and a few others. These I am pretty sure I can download for free, but what about the web and app world? Why are they missing? Is it because the phone is not activated yet?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using Wanam lite custom rom and for some reason, the arrows indicating that there is a data activity are not showing up. There is also no data icon like 4G/3G/R etc to show that I am connected to the internet.
My data is on as I can browse and internet is working fine but this is important as well. I have tried changing LTE value to 4G in CSC features but that did not work....
How this happened but my s6 has lost some of its icons from the tray like the private mode and data toggle. I have uploaded a screenshot of what I mean. I have no clue how to get it back.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Samsung Galaxy S5 (verizon) for about two months. I just ran into a problem where many of the icons are missing when I bring up twitter. For example, when I'm at my home page, if I look at the menu bar near the top of the page, I see the words ""Home", "Connect", "Discover", "Me", but the icons above each command are missing. Also, the avis in my feed are missing.
If I click on a specific tweet, then the poster's avi does appear, but the icons for retweet, reply, favorite, etc. are completely missing. However, if I touch the screen where they should be located, the commands do work.
Rebooting the phone (off/on) did not work. And this is not affecting any other apps that I have noticed.
is anyone having a problem when you plug the usb cable in to charge the phone/sync whether it be wall charger or computer connection, after un-pluging the cable some icons disappear on the home screen just a tool icon is visable? and when you press it message pops up *linked app not installed on phone*? then i have to re-boot twice and the icons and apps on homes screen go back to normal and the app is usable?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter my recent SD card swap, I've run into a problem. I have a few apps that show as not installed, and are no longer on offer at the play store. Unfortunately, the icons for these apps still appear in my app drawer. If I hold one and try do delete it, I'm told that system apps cannot be deleted. Trust me, Cookie Crush is not a system app.
Any tips for getting rid of these icons and cleaning up the app drawer?
First off when I take my phone out of lock or wake up it from sleeping the icons are missing till i wipe my finger across the screen.. its weird to explain but its kinda like i have to swipe the whole screen for the icons to be visable the same thing happens when my phone goes to sleep and the keyboard is open.. any ideas?
and another thing is sometimes ill be writting a msg and my phone will make 3 beeping prompting type of noise any idea what this is?
after installing the Android 5.1.1 update on my Galaxy S6 edge almost all home screen icons have disappeared, even the bottom ones like phone, contacts and messages.The apps icons in the app drawer have also completely disappeared. The apps are still there and working, but I can only access them when I get a new notification.I have tried rebooting several times, and clearing the Touchwiz launcher data, but nothing changes.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI used Ultra Power Saving Mode last night for about an hour. When I reverted back from that about half of my icons were missing including my stock Voicemail, YouTube, Yahoo Mail, all my games...etc.
Looked a little further into it this morning on Application Manager and the apps are still present on the phone and installed, but "Turned Off". If I tap on them, some have a button that says "Enable" (which appears to be all the pre-loaded apps that came with the phone) but most of them don't.
I've used Ultra Power Saving Mode as recent as two weeks ago with no problem.
My s6 (all stock) Is missing 6 folders full of apps. I have the apps in my applications menu, and I can only access them if I go through Google play. A few of the sideloaded ones I can't get to at all. I have tried rebooting numerous times.
It occurred after I updated on Verizon to 5.1.1 and my phone died. After charging a bit, I booted the phone and it went into safe mode. I turned off the safe mode and rebooted, still missing. Booted into safe mode separately... After turn off and reboot. Still the same thing.
None of these apps are disabled...
Restarted my phone and most of my apps are not there...

The phone icon went missing and it's not listed with in the apps area/drawer. However, when I check under Application Manager, its shows three phone applications which seem to be dupes. They can't be uninstalled or disabled. I've done force close and restarted the phone but no luck. I'm using Nova Launcher. I just got the the phone set-up the way I wanted so the the thought of a factory reset makes me queasy.

I can't use my left "quick access" key but when I type in a contact name everyone is there. Also my camera seems to work. Tho there are NO icons at all, none... I totally broke it!?

View 7 Replies View Relatedthis morning I took my phone off charge and it crashed like I'd taken the battery out but I hadn't.It got stuck on the O2 loading page and wouldn't turn on so took the battery out and it did the same thing getting stuck on the O2 screen. I found that if you turned it off and on with the power off button it would turn on.After it turned back on lots of the icons were missing, BBM, Browser, Facebook, Emails, Profiles icon (for changing from vibrate to silent etc) and other things that I can't remember just know there's more than that missing as the folders and menu are very empty.I can now get to BBM and the browser using the switch applications menu and they work fine so the applications don't need reinstalling the icons have just disappeared.
I've looked for them in the folders and checked the 'show all option' and changed the theme back to the original and still nothing. Also done lots of restars taking battery out and waiting etc. I haven't upgraded anything recently so can't have been that changing any settings.Also I don't have the cable to attach phone to the computer to back it up and reset to factory settings
Really hoping there's a different way as the applications are there and work fine just need to find the icons?
The words that are usually over the icons in the gallery and the email app and other places on the system are being cut short or turning into ".." randomly. Sometime its sorts itself out and sometimes it stays like that.
