BB Curve 8300 :: Desktop Manager Incapable Of Locating Outlook

So why does Desktop Manager force me to use it? I despise Outlook and have for years. I've always used Thunderbird for email. If Blackberry wants to squirrel away my data in Outlook, I guess I can't do anything about that. At least it is somewhere. But why is Desktop Manager incapable of locating Outlook unless it is set as default email? I'm about tired of setting it just to sync my calendar and then resetting it when I am done.
Can you add contacts using the Desktop Manager software? I'm really, really lost on how to enter them without having to type them in with the tiny little keyboard.
I'm new to the Blackberry Forum and would really appreciate some help! I bought a new blackberry, installed the OS from the Black Berry Website, but the desktop manager had no applications on it. My blackberry did not have blackberry messenger and notepad/memopad. I was able to download blackberry messenger, and that does show up on my desktop manager now, but I haven't found a notepad/memopad to download. Can anyone offer suggestions as to how I can get a notepad on my blackberry?
Carrier: Verizon Blackberry Curve 8330 Recently I upgraded my Desktop Manager to Version 6.0.0.40 and now I can't transfer media files to my Curve 8330.One thing I tried was to update my device OS to 4.5.0.175, this did not work.The DM shows that Media Options are not available,that I have to trun on mass storage mode from the device.Under the options menu on my 8330, I open Media Card and sure enough Media Card Support is On, Mass Storage Support is On, and Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode is On (I've tried when I switch to Prompt, but that did not work either).I've removed the media card, reinserted it, reformatted it, made sure it was recognized by my device (it is), so obviously the problem is with the Desktop Manager. With previous versions, I had no problems with Media Sync, only with the new DM version. The DM will recognize my device when plugged in via USB and I can sync my Organizer with no issues.What else can I try to get my DM - Media Sync to work with my 8330?
I have an 8310 that has been syncing just fine wtih my MC Outlook 2007 calendar (on XP SP3) - until the last week. I have changed nothing that I know of - other than a month+ ago, updated the BB device to the current, but it was still working fine after that upgrade.Last week my entries that I had in my outlook synced to my BB, but were then delted from outllook and I can not get them to sync back to outlook. I have changed the sync settings to sync to one-way and two-way - nothing seems to get them back to my outlook.I have just tried updating destop manager to 5.0.1.37 - still nothing.
I am new to Blackberry desktop manager for mac. It is all set up and first sync is done without a problem. Now when I try to sync, I get a message that over 600 of my past calendar items will be deleted if I continue with sync. I need to keep previous calendar items, is there a way to solve this problem and not delete past events? I am sorry for asking this question, I am just new and very unsure of what I am doing. I had used missing sync before, but when my blackberry had to be replaced, new blackberry wouldn't work so I wanted to try desktop manager.
I have been synching both Yahoo Address Book and Yahoo Calendar successfully for months.Suddenly, Address Book no longer synchs.Yahoo calendar still works.The problem occurs aftew Desktop reads all the contacts.It halts while "Synchronization Progress reading from Yahoo Address Book" displays.That message has displayed for up to an hour with no progress.I then disconnect and halt Desktop.I can still synch Yahoo Calendar.I have not updated desktop or device software.
I have a Blackberry 8520 curve which does the job perfectly apart from one little problem im having. I sync my calender with Outlook few times a week which works fine when I sync one way. Phones > Outlook. unplug, replug, Outlook to Phone.If I try and sync both ways, it just doesnt happen and gives me some error message. I'm using windows 7 and have the latest Desktop Manager software.
I do not have wireless sync capabilities so I need to do it through Desktop manager and when I try it says:"Synchronization is currently unavailable for:Address Book Because the application is configured for wireless synchronization Desktop Sync for the above application will be disabled click help for information an how to disable wireless Synchronization on your device" "If wireless data synchronization is available for your BlackBerry® device, but you want to synchronize your organizer data using the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager, verify that wireless data synchronization is turned off on your device. I have a person who when I make the connection between their BB Desktop Manager and their Outlook Profile all of a sudden outlook sends all incoming email to the Junk E-mail folder.Another behavior is that if I add the sender to the Safe Sender List, the next email from that person will show up in both the outlook Inbox and the Junk-Email folder.Any help would be great as I think I have everything setup correctly.If I break just the email outlook profile connection the problem goes away. AKA, Outlook doesn't put emails into the junk folder that shouldn't go there.
I upgraded to new Desktop Manager - 6.47 and now I can't sych my organizer data.I always get a message that wireless sychronization is in place but when I check this is not true.There are not even options to synchronize - memo pad, contacts, and tasks on my device.I even shut off all wireless services and still no change.Can't get satisfaction for Blackberry so called support.
I have recently purchased a new laptop that uses the Windows 7 operating system. I downloaded Desktop Manager for this new PC and when I try to configure the synchronization with my Blackberry to Outlook 2007 I keep getting a runtime error.
I spoke with technical support at Verizon and they told me that I was not able to sync my Blackberry to Outlook because it is not yet compatible with Windows 7.
Can anyone verify if that is true and know if Blackberry will soon be able to use all sync options - email, contacts, etc. - with Windows 7? I know have to continue to sync with another PC.
After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..." I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
I have a Blackberry Curve 8300 I just got. I need to sync my Outlook Calendar information on my work computer. At work we are NO LONGER using Exchange Server. It gave up the ghost a couple of years ago for some unknown reason and there were not fixes available according to IT.Anyway, I connect the device but do not find applications that will work. No ali or alx files to be found. The whole reason I went to this phone was because it was supposed to work with Outlook from what I understood, and get email.
I can't connect the blackberry to the desktop manager, it doesn't recognize my phone on the computer, but that happened when I updated my desktop manager to the next version. Because before that it worked very fine.I tried to change the configuration on the desktop manager but it didn't work out. My computer doesn't recognize my phone as an usb device either.
When downloading the blackberry desktop manager,the form asked of country and city,but it showed loading countries without it loading,now I can't download the desktop manager so as to connect my smartphone to my laptop

I have a Curve 8330 and cannot get the Desktop Manager to connect with it. This was a frequent problem for a long time until the latest DM upgrade. Suddenly, now the same thing is happening. DM just shows "connecting" but no connection takes place. I have uninstalled then downloaded and reinstalled v6 but all in fain.
i am unable to sync with my laptop (with new 9330/curve 3G) as Desktop Manager says my BB isn't connected. i am using the cable that came with thenew 'phone.the laptop can access the media on the 'phone, the laptop recognizes that the deivice is connected.
It worked great for a few weeks then when something updated automatically and no more sync .I get a "operation terminated unexpectedly" pop-up. I've read through the forums and tried putting an end time on my recurring dates, and followed the instructions on the iloptcfg.cfg file and still no go.Address, memo and tasks works fine, but the calendar won't. I even uninstalled the BB Desktop manager (v5.0) and reinstalled v4.7 and no go.
Every so often, I check Outlook and notice e-mails that were never received on my Blackberry.Here's what I know:
1) the problem only rarely occurs, so I can't recreate it for others to see 3) a user can send me dozens of e-mails without a problem, then inexplicably one will go missing (so it isn't a single user issue) 4) carrier is Verizon they claim it is Yahoo's issue, because no other e-mails are effected (I use Yahoo Small Business e-mail) 5) Yahoo claims it is not their issue since e-mails are being received in Outlook 6) Outlook is configured to leave all of my messages on the server (it is a pop3 account if that matters) 7) The e-mails are not being received into Spam or any other folder

The Specs: BB Curve 8310 (EDGE) O/S v4.2.2.170 (Platform 2.5.0.30) Carrier- AT&T BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) Vista Home Premium 64 bit- SP1 BB Desktop Manager Version 4.3.0.17 (Nov. '07) The Problem: Please provide step by step instructions from start to finish on how to transfer my organizer data from my Blackberry (BB) device to Outlook on my PC without losing my BB data. I define organizer data as Calendar, Contacts, tasks and memos. I am not referring to email in this problem. History: I have been a BB user synchronizing my organizer data between my BB and Outlook on my laptop for a year. Then my hard drive crashed on my laptop and I lost all of my laptop's Outlook organizer data including calendar, contacts, tasks and memos. But luckily, I have my BB organizer data (calendar, contacts, tasks, memos) from my last sync before the hard drive crashed, as well as, some new additional entries on my BB. So the BB data is good, and the laptop's data is gone and Outlook is empty. Currently: I now have a new hard drive in my laptop recently loaded with Outlook from a CD. Outlook has no data in it and is empty. I want to transfer my BB device's organizer data to my laptop (Outlook). BB data ---> laptop [Not the other way around]. I have just loaded on my laptop the Blackberry Desktop Manager from the CD. I have not set any settings and have not done any synchronization yet because I fear that I may accidentally wipe out (lose) my data on my BB because the data transfer went the wrong direction. I need your help. What settings do I need to set up before the first synchronization occurs?I am very nervous because I want the BB device data to over write the laptop data on this first sync. If I screw up and do this synchronization the wrong way, I will end up with no data on my BB or my laptop and have lost years of contacts and calendar data, etc.BTW: I use the BB Desktop Manager with a USB cable to do the synchronization between the BB device and Outlook on laptop.I am a new user to the setup process and would really appreciate a detailed step by step approach from start to finish to solve this issue. after the first sync above (when the correct BB device data is on the laptop), do I change the conflict resolutions options to something else or just leave them? I tend to use my BB more (by 98%) over the laptop for calendar, contact, etc. entries. I want the BB device to be the "master" and the laptop be the "slave" BUT most importantly I want any change I make on the laptop to be immediately transferred to my BB device and also the other way around when I sync. Any thoughts? Or is this just confusing the matter.
My phone asks me where i want to charge, Usb or media sync. and my computer asks if i want to open the files but really all i want to do is use desktop manager. Ive tried the Device manager method, ive uninstalled and reinstalled i dont know what to do?
I have bb 9380 curve which has 7.0 OS, i want to update it to 7.1. I have downloaded 7.1 device software and installed it in PC but when i try to update this through Desktop Manager it shows me " There is no update available for your divice" ...how can i update?
