i am unable to sync with my laptop (with new 9330/curve 3G) as Desktop Manager says my BB isn't connected. i am using the cable that came with thenew 'phone.the laptop can access the media on the 'phone, the laptop recognizes that the deivice is connected.

Some bacis information:
Device: Bold 9700 v5.0.0.593
Device PIN: 2228EE7B
PC OS: Windows Vista Home Basic 32bit SP2
Desktop Manager Version: 5.0.1.18 (installed from CD)
Installation of the DM went through fine. When it is started up, the following message is displayed:
"Before you begin, verify that your current Blackberry device is connected to your computer."
When I connect the device to the computer via USB cable, DM is forced to close.
I, stupidly, recently upgraded to the new DM v6 when prompted to do so.Since then, I have not been able to prevent emails arriving wirelessly when my BB is plugged into the software.I WANT THAT ABILITY BACK! Ok, I realise I may be weird in not wanting to have to deal with emails twice (desktop AND on my BB) but I have been happily using my BB for untethered email only. So, the question is: how do I stop my BB receiving emails while it is plugged into the DM? (I've not yet tried rolling back to the previous version of DM as that kinda offends my sense of progress.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a 9105 and recently downloaded Desktop Manager 6 onto my PC running XL. When running the older DM I was able to use the programme a few times then it stopped recognizing that my phone was connected. I have not managed to connect since upgrading. I have spent many hours in this and other forums trying every reasonable idea. I have removed the version 6 and loaded 5 again, removed 5 and clean installed 6. Checked all the different USB options and drivers. Changed USB cabels and connections. Removed the battery countless times but nothing will get it to connect. Windows and the device manager see the phone and I am able to remove/add files. I also upgraded my Documenyts To Go so that I can sync the docs on my desktop but this also fails to see my phone. Having read most KB's in this regard I am now not sure where to look.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAs of 2 days ago my 9550 won't sync with Outlook (USB or Bluetooth). Has worked fine for 2+ years. I have made no changes or updated any software. After 10+ hours of tech support with RIM they tell me its a software glitch they are aware of and don't know when or if it will be resolved. Verizon is not aware of the issue...RIM has me waste 10+ hours of my time and their techs time...and they both have told me your out of luck.

I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
I can't connect the blackberry to the desktop manager, it doesn't recognize my phone on the computer, but that happened when I updated my desktop manager to the next version. Because before that it worked very fine.I tried to change the configuration on the desktop manager but it didn't work out. My computer doesn't recognize my phone as an usb device either.

My blackberry did not have blackberry messenger and notepad/memopad. I was able to download blackberry messenger, and that does show up on my desktop manager now, but I haven't found a notepad/memopad to download. Recently I upgraded my computer to Windows 7 from Vista.Now, the computer doesn't recognize my BB, and Desktop Mgr doesnt *find* the BB when plugged in. I sync my calender with Outlook few times a week which works fine when I sync one way. View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm writing from Austria, Europe. I just got my BlackBerry Curve 8900 few days ago, everything's fine, I like it a lot. I've got just a problem with the desktop manager software. I installed it through the CD delivered with my BlackBerry and got the newest version of the software through the internet as well. But somehow, when I open the Media Manager Section, I got a button to install the Media Manager, and when I click on it, it doesn't work. I tried it several times already, but I alsways get a notification, that there's a problem and I have to put the user tools CD or try it when I'm connected to the internet. I put the CD and I'm also always connected to the internet, but it doesn't work. So I can't put any media files into my BlackBerry.

I tried accessing the the BlackBerry Device Manager and it says 'The application has failed to start because XmlLite.dll was not found. Re-Installing the application may fix this problem.' - Of which I have done twice already. Is there a problem with this version of Desktop manager or any resolutions to fix this?
