My girlfriend left me and moved to Australia but she still likes the Bold 9900 that I bought her. It was on Rogers and worked great. Before she left, we had Rogers unlock it. She now has an account with Telstra in Brisbane. She has a new Telstra SIM installed and BBM and data work fine but not voice calls apparently. So far Telstra seems unable to help. Does anyone have an idea of why this issue would be present? Are there some advanced settings that need to be adjusted to provision on Telstra that are different than Rogers? Just to be clear, the phone is not roaming from Rogers to Telstra,it is unlocked and set-up on a Telstra account.
My iphone is not working correctly when making normal voice calls, as in, I can hear the person I called but they cannot hear me. The weird thing is, when using skype it works fine.
So I had a question regarding SMS messaging and phone calls on my iPhone 5s when connected to the wifi in my dorm room at my university. As you can assume, I have zero service when in my room which requires me to be on WiFi whenever I'm in there. The problem is, I can't send any SMS text messages or make any voice calls when on the WiFi. iMessaging works just fine, along with pretty much any other app I use (twitter, ESPN, snapchat, Soundcloud, etc.), it's just the SMS and voice calls that don't work. I'm pretty sure I've been able to FaceTime a couple times, though the connection was obviously horrific, but that still doesn't make sense then why I can't call anyone, iPhone or not, or send any SMS messages when in my dorm room. I am aware that I am updated to the latest software version, and I really don't want to have to tamper with factory resets and all that jazz,
Phone was 18months old. Intermittent problem from 1 yr. Able to make/receive calls but other person not able to hear me. However voice recorder still working so not sure what's causing problem. Genius bar unable to help but person next to me with same age phone had identical problem. Tried all suggestions on message boards with no sucess.
I couple of days ago it shut itself off again. I took out the battery to reset it, but when it came back on the home button quit working, on both the front screen and the keyboard. Also, all of my calls are going straight to voicemail and the Happenings widget isn't working right. When there are no current happenings it says "keep up to date with friends in social networks". If you touch it, it says to setup a Motoblur account to use this service, but I already have one. I've tried just resetting the password on there, but that did nothing. And if I try to set it up, it comes up with a force close screen.
Blackberry Bold 9700 on contract with Virgin, I have now unlocked the phone and put my works Sim (o2) in. When I switch the phone on I recieve 1 possibly 2 calls then all further calls go to voicemail, I dont get any notifications that I have voicemail and don't know unless I call 1 or 901. If I turn the phone off and on again It then repeats the process. It appears to forward all calls to voicemail after a couple of hours. Call Forwarding is set to Conditional and does not change. I have reset to factory settings but it still does it.
I tried to make a call while wi-fi was on and connected, it wouldn't go through. likewise, when someone tried to call me when wi-fi was on, they went straight to voicemail. i tested it when i got home and same thing...wi-fi on, no voice. wi-fi off, voice calls work just fine.the only think i can think of is that i have skype installed but not logged in yet, so maybe it's trying to make calls that way? i'm going to be kinda bummed if i have to turn off wi-fi to use the phone.
I am new to Blackberry and I have some questions about my 9700. I have tried looking to see if this has been posted but I didnt see anything. I recently installed the .602 OS and did the battery pull and all that hoping it would fix the problem but it hasnt. The problem is when I miss a phone call and receive a voice mail. I do have the visual voice mail set up and to my knowledge that works fine. The visual voice mail alert popup shows up first and when I go to play the VM, it starts playing and then the missed call alert popup shows up on top of VM. I can either open the missed call to view it or dismiss it. If I open it, I cant do anything to the VW since it is still going or not going anymore in background and if I dismiss the missed call, I have to go back a view the missed call in the call log to get the icon to go away. Also, once everything is done, my SMS & MMS folder opens up for no reason that I am aware of. Is this normal for everyones phone? If not, do I have a setting wrong that I am not aware of? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Your carrier: T-MOBILE Model info and OS version: Bold 9900 / 7.1.0.284 (7.1 Bundle 998)
Lately when placing and receiving calls I cannot hear anything put dead air. No ring tone when calling out, or the voice of the caller when accepting a new call. To fix the issue I have pulled the battery. However, a few hours later the issue will start again.
Voice dialing on my Bold 9700 has worked for a long time. The phone is only 2.5 months old.Since last night though, when I click voice dialing, it just says "Scanning contacts", it reaches 100% very quickly, and closes. It never prompts me to say a command.I've tried battery pulls, going into settings -> Voice dial, changing things, and it still happens. If I try to Adapt my Voice, it just scans the contacts, and closes like above. It's rather strange because I haven't made major changes to my phone. I'm still using the main oem theme, and I have absolutely no programs running in the background. (I've held the menu button to see what's open.)
I was using WM for many years, but now the BB9700 is my choice.I have several contacts from different countries in my phonebook, therefore characters like čřžýá and others are common in my phonebook. When I push the Voice dialing button, there will appear "Scanning Contacts, please wait...", it will go till 26% and then it just exits and no voice dialing occurs. When I remove all my contacts and I will create a new contact, the voice dialing works well. The solution to remove all my contacts which contains special characters is not acceptable (I have over 600 contacts).
i recently changed my curve for a bold 9700 been using it with no probs at all now all of a sudden i cant receive sms or send them or receive or make calls i can use bbm an the internet i have roobooted put my sim in my old phone and it works perfect.

Because I use a Mac I plug it into the desktop software and it should offer me the chance to update to version 6. It doesn't. Using BB5 1022 at the moment.
After installing BlackBerry Device Software V5.0 BlackBerry App World is not working anymore I tried to reinstalled it.The installation seems to be OK but after installation , I can not find it Is some one can help?
I just got my blackberry a few weeks ago, and it was working perfect up until I downloaded BlackBerry Desktop Manager, plugged my handset in and updated it.... It operates much slower. There's a good 5-15 second delay when trying to access the menu, and it will freeze while I'm trying to answer incoming calls. Also my alarm clock doesn't work anymore. There's no sound coming out when it goes off, the volume is set to high, but it will still ring when someone calls me. It was working prior to the update, and I didn't change any settings after. Is there a way to roll back the update. I thought updates were supposed to fix problems and issues, not create them.
ps it is a BlackBerry 9000 carried by Rogers, O/S version 4.6.0.303
So i've been using att for about two months now since switching from Verizon. Everything was fine at first but recently i would say within the past month i've been dropping calls and having problems with the data services. I'll be streaming slacker radio and all of a sudden it stops and i have to reboot to get it working again. The dropped calls thing is pretty much random. Im running 5.0.0.405.
Anyone else having this problem? I mean the whole surfing while talking thing is nice but if this keeps up im going to have to just bite the bullet pay the early term fee and switch back!
About a week or so ago, the handset stopped working on phone calls on my Verizon 9930. I would have to put the phone on speaker in order to hear the person on the other end. I just updated to the latest OS that was released yesterday (7.1.0.580) and the problem is still there. Can't remember what triggered the handset to stop working, as I didn't do anything different to the phone, or drop it, etc. I should add whether receiving or making the call, it doesn't work either way. Also I've tried soft pulls (alt + upper case + del) but not a battery pull. Figured the OS update worked the same as a battery pull.
My 4 month old Blackberry Bold 9700 bought through Bell Mobility stopped working 2-3 weeks ago; was unable to send/receive calls or text even with the signal strength indicator showing full strength and the 3G symbol showing. Returned the phone to Bell Mobility for repairs and the phone was returned after about 2 weeks, but still not working. We could not find any scratch at all on the glass that covers the LCD display, and phone does not work, so have to wonder if they looked at the right phone. I Called the Bell Mobility service center, and they had the tech at the store reload the software again, third time this was done, still not working. Also reloading software on my phone apparently takes much longer than normal, about one hour.
Tech support at Bell finally told me the phone was not fixable, and gave me a ticket number to get a replacement phone through the Bell Mobility premium plan warranty I had purchased. Called thinking I would finally get a phone that works, but the insurance company that deals with the Bell Mobility warranty said that because the phone is under the one year manufacturers warranty they would not cover it, and it would cost me $150 if they were to replace the phone.
The customer service lady would not tell me what revisit means, but it seems to mean I will not be getting a working Blackberry any time soon. RIM also does not seem to offer or honor a warranty? I find it hard to believe that RIM offers no customer support or warranty on their Blackberry products, but could not find any information on a warranty in the booklets that came with the phone. Either way, the service rep at RIM told me they do not offer warranty repair services for their products and I would have to deal with the company that sold me the phone, Bell Mobility. These Blackberry phones are not cheap, so I cant really afford to buy a few of them for back up.
I have upgraded to the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and I am having trouble getting the BlackBerry Appworld to work ... I have updated it to the latest software available and it still says that my BlackBerry does not meet the system requirements.Has anyone got any suggestions?I am with 3 and I have the BlackBerry Browser and email package on it too ... also there is no option for me to set up my hotmail account on the system it is only allowing me to use a BlackBerry Enterprise Server account.
many people say me when i call them, that they hear my voice not clear, and voice goes up and down.it's problem with the mic of the phone? what can i do?
During ALL calls people complain to me that they hear their voice echoing all the time. This problem remains whatever I have tried to do (activate/deactivate the Voice Clarity option, with/without handsfree).
Randomly my phone decides it doesn't like being a phone. The call connects, but I can't hear anything and neither can the person on the other line. I'll hang up, call my voicemail, can't hear the automated messages and keypad tones don't register on the voicemail's end. Sometimes a battery pull fixes, usually not. Sometimes it works again after an hour. Two days ago it decided not to work, didn't work yesterday or today until just now either, longest I've seen it not work. When that happens I resort to calling from Google Voice on my laptop.
Others cannot hear when I talk...Went to Apple store and they gave me a different device but it has the same problem. I had iPhone4S previously and I never had problems with it.
Have problems with your voice cutting out during calls? I get numerous complaints that people can't hear me. They say that they can hear ever 3rd or 4th word.
My bb 8520 suddenly says 'supplementary error:general error' when I try to make calls or even checking my airtime balance.I removed de sim card and use it on anada fone it works fine.so de problem is wit de fone hw do I fix dis.internet is working fine\
