BB :: Can't Turn Off Wireless Syncing On My Curve 9370
Jan 31, 2012I can't turn off wireless syncing on my Curve 9370 so that I can sync using the Blackberry Desktop software. The directions given suggest going to the Calendar application and/or Contacts application on my phone and "press the Menu key then Options and then change the Wireless Synchronization field to No." But, that is not one of the options in either of the applications.

Sep 19, 2011I want to push my outlook 2010 contacts to my BES enabled Torch 9810 on AT&T running 7.0 Bundle 1355(v7.0.0.261 Platform 5.0.0.469).When I go into Desktop Manager 6.1.0.35 it says my calendar and Address book are syncing wirelessly. Nothing I've tried gets Desktop Manager to recognize that I've turned off wireless synchronization.
I've tried going to Messages->Menu->Options->Email Reconciliation and clearing the Wireless Reconcile checkbox. I do the same thing in Desktop->Menu->Options->Email Reconciliation and clearing the Wireless Reconcile checkbox.Other posts on the internet talk about going into the contacts application, going to options and shutting off wireless synchronization, however I think this is for other devices. There is nothing in there about wireless synchronization.
BB Torch :: Unable To Turn Off Wireless Sync?
Feb 23, 2012A few weeks ago there was a software update to BlackBerry Desktop which now precludes me from synching the new Contacts from my Outlook on computer to the device (Torch9810).
I have tried unsuccessfully to turn off wireless snchronization but this device doesn't have that option. I went to Contacts --> Options --> Synchronization but the only alternative there is to uncheck AT&T Address Book Automatic Synchronization.
It doesn't import new Contacts either way (checked or not). Used to before the software update I relunctantly downloaded. But not now.

Mar 20, 2012I just picked up a MiFi 4G device and I carry it at all times. However since it has a cap on data per month I want it to be secondary to several other unlimited WiFi networks such as my office WiFi, home WiFi, free WiFi hotspots, etc. Is there any work around to make the MiFi wireless (or any permanent wireless network) 2nd to all other recognized networks? This is the ideal set-up for my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 WiFi. I don't want to have to turn the MiFi on and off constantly, I want it on in the background as a seamless secondary option. I appreciate any insight and find it odd that you cannot prioritize networks. Meaning if I "forgot this network" and start over will the 1st joined or most recent joined become primary when there are multiple networks available?

Oct 11, 2015I am trying to figure out if there is a way that I can turn off background data/automatic syncing in all of my apps when I'm connected to Wi-Fi. Besides going in to each app and turning off the syncing.
The reason for this is that I'm going to be going on a cruise and the Wi-Fi on the ship is not exactly cheap, so I'd like not to go through a lot of data every time I connect to it because all of my apps decide that they are going to connect.
I have a Nexus 5 running 6.0.
I've read about the "Metered Wi-Fi network" settings, but it doesn't say exactly what it does - it mainly talks about restricting background data on a mobile network, and setting data limits on a mobile network, even though it's supposed to be about Metered Wi-Fi networks.

Mar 23, 2010I've had my BB 9700 for just over a month now, without having any issues whatsoever with the handset, my 9700 refuses to connect to my wireless home network, it finds the network, acquires an IP address, a displays the signal strength and connection speed , but looking at the Wi-Fi diagnostics on the BB there seems to be a problem with the Infrastructure, it attempts to connect and continuously fails.
I am using a Netgear DG934GT Router, running Firmware 1.03.23, all my other wireless devices (laptop, iPod Touch and PS3) connect fine to the wireless network, I have tried restarting the BlackBerry, and the router, this doesn't seem to solve the problem, I've also removed and re-added the wireless network to my BlackBerry, this has not solved my problem either. I am on T-Mobile and the BB is not unlocked or anything of that nature.

May 8, 2010I have my cell service through T-Mobile and recently upgraded to a Bold 9700 with internet service. I can browse the internet over the 3G network and at a Hot Spot location using the Wi-Fi. What I can't do is access the internet through my wireless router at home. The Netgear router (WPN824 v3) works fine through the cable modem for laptops and my daughter's Motorola Click smartphone. When I turn off the 3G network, I get a "can't find the server message".

Nov 18, 2010I started the wireless update last night before I went to sleep. It got to the restore process and has not moved. I tried a battery pull, I left the battery out for about 2 or 3 minutes. The phone itself is not frozen. It keeps pulling up the icon that lets you know it is TRYING to work, but no progress is being made.
