I have a bold 9900 with OS 7.1 on it and about 1000 contacts, everytime i try to look up the location from the address in one of my contacts using Blackberry map, it says " location not found" 100 percent of the time, yet show on google map always works, as does Poynt from here always works.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA week ago I installed IOS5.1 on my mothers iPhone 4 through her iMac and iTunes account. I thought everything went well, but unfortunately, while her contacts are still in her contactlist, when she tries to use a contact and clicks it, the contactlist disappears and she's send back to the mainscreen of her iPhone. I've tried to synchronize the contacts again and even restored her iPhone through iTunes, but after both attempts I received the same error: "Synchronizing isn't possible because your iPhone uses the contactlist. Close it in your Contact settings and try again." But when I try to open 'Settings>E-mail, contacts, agenda' it closes immediately and I'm send back to the mainscreen of the iPhone again..

I have been synching both Yahoo Address Book and Yahoo Calendar successfully for months.Suddenly, Address Book no longer synchs.Yahoo calendar still works.The problem occurs aftew Desktop reads all the contacts.It halts while "Synchronization Progress reading from Yahoo Address Book" displays.That message has displayed for up to an hour with no progress.I then disconnect and halt Desktop.I can still synch Yahoo Calendar.I have not updated desktop or device software.

Upgraded some applications from BB World (don't know if there is a connection) and tried adding a new contact but this error message appears: Uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_addressbook_app (216) is not responding; process terminated (by the way the two upgrades were for Twitter and BB Messenger)Is it coincidence that I've just installed a couple of upgrades and this has now happened?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI enter a contact's address diligently into each entry field but when I browse that contact later, the whole address is cramped into one field: Address 1 leaving the rest of the entry fields blank. When I do a Find Location (for getting directions) on BB MAPS and enter that contact name, I get errors like 'location not found' or something about the my "search request contains an unsupported character".
When I re-arrange that contact's address back into each entry field, save it then use BB maps to find that location, it works perfectly and gives me proper directions. So I suspect it has something to do with the address being grouped into Address 1. Then later, when I edit that same contact (to add a Note), I noticed that the whole address is cramped into Address 1 again!!
I noticed that none of the discussions on how to add an email address to a contact (not from Incoming message) in Contacts focuses on an email address you may have been given which you want to manually add to an existing contact.

I don't know how it happened but when I was composing an SMS message I noticed that I have the same contact twice with the same numbers. Some of the contacts are just copies and some have a facebook name on it. I have tried deleting and reinstalling facebook but the issue is still there. My question is: is there I way I can quickly delete all this duplicate contacts without doing it one by one?

It doesn't crash if you first enter the first/last name - tap done - open the contact and edit it. After "Contacts" crashes the new entry is not saved.
It is very annoying especially if you are on the go or you ask the person 3 times for their contact details...

I have tried without success to contact Blackberry re persistent BBM requests from someone I do not know.If I decline the request another request comes within a minute.If I ignore it ,it comes again within an hour or two.As I have had no reply either on here or via Twitter and cannot find an email address in the contact us section here, I have now involved the police as this has now become a stalking issue.

I just discovered that if I add a new contact on the phone, using the stock contact app and being sure it is added within the corporate synch account, when the synch happens with outlook, the name transfers over, the phone number transfers over, but the email address is not transferring over. It is blank even though I added it on the phone. I add the email address a second time on the phone after i see the contact synch on outlook and it still doesn't transfer over. I tried it with a test contact on the phone and the same thing happens.
The ms exchange service (3rd party) is telling me to make sure the data is current on outlook and remove the account from the phone and re-synch the phone w/ exchange. However I can't tell how much info will be lost by doing this (and am not going through to compare contacts from outlook to the phone) so am discounting it for the moment. They then say that the phone handles the synching.
Prior to posting I added on the droid, the business name, title, address and notes to the contact and they synched to outlook, but still no email address. I rebooted the phone, no email address. I deleted the address, saved the contact, waited 5 minutes, added the email address back and no email address synch with outlook.

New here and a tad bit upset with my failure to synch the address book. I had it in originally, I used a 'skype out' product to export skype contacts to Outlook, then I usefully synced to Outlook, but had a bunch of repeated addresses. Found a solution to delete address book and to reimport from Outlook. Successfully deleted address book on BB. Tires to sync but now it fails to do so. I have reinstall 1, battery, 2, SIM card, 3 desktop program. The synch starts - to be certain- I even go so far as the option to approve the sync or snot. Then it begins to do the syncing and the countdown of addresses yet to by synced clicks downward, as it should, then there's a 'bink' sound, and then nothing, and I check my BB, and no addresses have moved over. I have tried SEVRAL TIMES even 'syncing all' I have arranged for the synch to be for the addresses only. I have arranged for it to be from the computer to the BB. Hopeless. Extremely frustrated.

This might sound like a silly question but i've set up facebook on my blackberry which is fine, then my mom brought the same one and asked me to set up hers aswell for her, and somehow on my moms i managed to do something that made peoples facebook pictures come up as there contact photo in her address book, but now i cant figure out how to do it on mine! lolll. I am wondering if there is a way to delete contacts from my phone, while keeping them in the address book of my Macbook? I have many contacts that I would like to keep permanently for future use, but am hoping to clean up the contacts on my actual phone. Each time I delete a contact from the iPhone, the contact is simultaneously deleted from my Macbook address book.

Many of my gmail address book contacts contain long notes/memo section. Seems that since receiving the recent droid software update, the long notes section of contacts are only partially displayed when viewed on the Droid. On the Cliq I never had this problem. On the Cliq2 when people update their FB default pictures, it doesn't sync and update them in my address book anymore. Motorola said it should but it doesn't. They offered me a new phone but hello this is my second Cliq2 that it hasn't worked on. Apparently it's not the phone. It's motoblur!
