I tried to unlock my blackberry and I put too many attempts out of 10 attempts, and now it said there's no more chances, is there any alternative way to unlock the phone? Or is there any way to put back the attempts to make it become 10 more chances?
View 1 RepliesI bought a Bold 9700 about a month ago and everything was fine un til I had to call T-Mobile to get an exchange about a week ago. I got my new Blackberry 9700 but the only problem is, when I set my password and enable it, the phone doesn't prompt me to enter the password whenever I unlock the phone. It only asks if I go to settings>password lock or when I reboot the phone. I'm new here, and I apologize if this has been posted before.

I'm assuming once you login correctly once that the number if incorrect attempts resets to 0, but I've seen statements in various articles that state or at least hint otherwise.
I'd like to increase the number of attempts to insert the password in my password keeper but I do not seem to have the option to do so. This is the procedure I should follow right? My Blackberry encounters an error every time i access Facebook mobile as I don't use the app. The error reads: "Exceeded maximum redirect attempts to server m.facebook.com." It's funny though as it only does this with a particular facebook account. I Restored the device to factory settings and most common troubleshooting operations have been performed. I now don't know what to do now.

Later, it got broken and I took the device to the store and it got repared by an official tech of RIM. It now works, but I am unable to unlock it (make it work with ohter telephone companies) with the same code I used previously.

I called t-mobile and they won't provide me with a code because I haven't had it for 60 days yet with them. So i too to do one of those phone fixers in the corner stores that say they unlock phones and they punched in a bunch of codes and it didn't work. So i took it to another person said yes yes of course I can do that for you, punched in a bunch of codes and again, failed. So now my phone only has two more attempts on it to unlock it and I am scared to take it to another place or try one of these online codes you can buy as I don't want to end up with a $600 phone that is permenantly locked.Any sugestions? I could just wait the 60 days out and call t mobile back again but by then I will be in australia and if things don't work then I can't exactly just take it back into the. T mobile store.Could it be that the codes aren't working because the phone is programed not to be allowed to be unlocked for 60 days?

Enable Quick Selection: YES

View 6 Replies View RelatedWe just switched our business account from Vodafone to O2 and got MEP unlock codes for all our phones. One of our Blackberry 9700 handsets is hardlocked. I obtained the unlock code from Vodafone but the user managed to put the MEP code in wrong too many times and now I get a message: "Enter Network MEP code (0 left)"I've tried resetting factory defaults as per Vodafone advice and updated to latest OS but still get the same message. Vodafone have basically now told me to contact RIM. Will RIM sort this and how much will it cost?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to call a number (LAN LINE) that has a block on unidentified callers, I get the message "The number you are calling does not accept unidentified calls please enter your 10 digit phone number" The funny thing is that this problem just started to happen. A week ago it was fine. When I do call a number that is not blocked, my number comes up correctly on the caller ID but shows as unidentified. Sometimes, it shows up as international.Now, funny thing is that if I put my SIM in my Pearl, I can make calls no problem. There are two settings on the Bold under general options. One is called "Restrict My Identity" In this case, I have have it set to NEVER. I have also tried NETWORK DETERMINED, but neither of them make difference. The other setting is called "Show My Number" and this is set to YES.I have talked to AT&T until I am blue in the face. They say it is a problem with the phone and that it needs to be replaced. I hardly believe that. I have a friend with the same phone and it has the same problem.I did see some threads on this before in other forums, but never did see an answer to the problem.Finding a solution would be very nice.Already tried doing a factory reset and a security wipe on the phone.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI own a blackberry 9700 since 2 yrs. I tried for the first time to save my device data on my computer by using the BB Desktop Software. To connect my cell phone and my PC, I had to provide a "password". I typed my device password and then my SIM Card pin #, without any luck. An alert message indicated that this was my last chance to enter the right code, and if I don"t, all my device data would be merely erased.
I also cannot access anymore to my cell phone as long as I don't provide with this "mysterious" password. The point is also that I switched off my device. If turn it on, I will have to type the word "blackberry" first, and then the said password will be requested: at this step is it the SIM card PIN # or necessarily the device password?
I didn't use my cell phone for several weeks since that time, so scared to do a wrong thing. When I just tried to reload the battery, I saw the phone doing like a "reset". Then I took off the battery to stop the process. Did I do something wrong? Is it now too late to get back my data?
I have been trying to find a way to 'hard enter' line spaces when texting so as text can be sent in paragraphs rather than block.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just updated my BB 9700 for the first time (511 updates to be exact). The upgrade is currently at 11 out of 12 upgrades and it is taking about 45 minutes to initialize before it gives me the message: "The desktop loader is unable to connect to the device, you may need to enter a password on the device."
The BB is not asking for password and I do not have any password protection on it. I have unplugged the USB from computer and the phone, reconnected and clicked retry and it continues to give me the same message 45 minutes later. I am freaking out a bit because it cleared all my contacts off and I believe the process it is trying to do is to restore that information.
I lost my pattern and now it says "Too many pattern attempts". When I to get it through email id it does accept.
