Xperia X10 :: Locked Out After Too Many Pattern Attempts
Nov 15, 2010I have what seems to be a resonably common problem with my phone being locked out after too may pattern recognition attempts (My son's playfull fingers methinks).
I have consulted the forums including this one and it seems clear that the Log on fix for the google account using null as the password may work for some but hasn't for me.
I have tried to do a repair on the phone, but using pc companion i cannot get this too work, i cannot get into pc companion normally because the software is asking me to put the phone into Usb connect mode which i can't because i am locked out the phone.
method (that works) to get me phone to being useable again? perhaps i am doing the repair method wrong ( holding the back ket then connecting the usb cable does nothing)

Apr 17, 2012I was used HTC hero Screen Pattern Lock software but my younger brother entered more time wrong patterns therefore my fone is screen locked and gives me just one option is that "Too Many Pattern Attempts!" and also gives me the accessibility to the gmail account but I have a problem to access the internet because i just enable the internet from phone settings thus I unable to access the phone setting and I had also tried on pc to synchronize the phone but there is also in vain ....

Sep 6, 2012How many unlock attempts you get on these phones? (As default - I'm sure you can customize the security settings but I haven't done this.) I've left my phone somewhere, won't be able to get it for a while, and would like some peace of mind that it locks out after a certain number of attempts!

Mar 1, 2011I've got a problem with my Xperia X10. The kids got ahold of my phone and tried my password too many times eventually locking it out for too many attempts. The phone is now asking for my g-mail account and password. I tried entering the information requested, but it kept saying incorrect login/pass. I successfully went through the steps in g-mail for password reset, but the phone still is not taking the updated (correct) information. Is there any kind of a reset available for this phone? I can't make it past that g-mail account login screen.

Nov 17, 2010I set the trace a pattern security system for the phone. Later when trying to do two things at once I got the pattern wrong five times. I then compounded the problem by getting the succeeding attempts wrong as well until the phone locked me out. Like many others it seems I set-up my gmail account without recording the pertinant details, gmail address and password, these are the requirements to unlock the phone. The official X10 user guide is no help on the subject. I have also been to various websites looking for advice and have found no information at all, apart from don't do it of course! I went to a phone shop and their advice was to use PC Companion to reset the phone but of course I need to mount the phone in order that the software sees it. I am resigned to resetting the phone as the solution as I am backed up but even if I reset I will still need the gmail info to enable all of the Google features. I know it is the result of being a dufus but it seems like a bit of a terminal cul-de-sac at the moment.

Oct 24, 2011When ever I try to unlock (dragging lock button from left to right) , I am unable to unlock in one go. It is taking multiple attemts to unlock my phone.I also observed that when I get to call, to cancel dragging the icon from right to left this is required multiple attempts.i.e many time dragging icon from right to left.
I don't know whether it is software problem or hardware. I have tried the repair operation also. my xperia neo is uptodate and running 2.3.4 os.I also tried to un install apps but I couldn't find any difference.Also once I unlock, those 5 screens, I can scroll inbetween and can touch home button. But when I long press on the screen to add widget/folder I am unable to do it as soon as I unlock phone. It is taking some time to respond.
As I purchased this phone in UK and using it in India, I am not sure how much service I can get in india from SE.I have bill for the mobile too.in other posts somebody told me to remove yahoo and i did the same but didn't find any difference.in short the touch scence is not responsive during unlock and for a while once get the home screen. I also installed andvance task killer app and killing apps frequently that also not making any help.
