Jun 12, 2015I use a pattern lock and the security lock timeout is set for 30 minutes. I have the screen timeout set to 30 seconds. I have disabled the power button to immediately lock the phone. Every time I open my phone I still have to take the extra step to slide to unlock even though the phone is technically not locked. This is just an extra annoying step. Is there any way to skip the slide to unlock step?

Jun 14, 2011The upgrade to Gingerbread has been seamless aside from one issue that has recently popped up. I prefer that the only screen lock on my phone is the slider, but suddenly this option has gone away. When I hit the lock button, I expect that my phone's screen will go off and in order to turn it back on, I need to hit the lock button again and slide to unlock it. I do not want to enter a pattern, a pin, or a password. In order to get the slide lock to consistently show up after hitting the lock button, I need to add a pattern, pin or password. The slide lock will show up, but I also have to enter the pattern, pin or password after unlocking with the slide lock if the security lock timer setting has elapsed.

I want my phone so that when I only have to do the pattern.The security options on the phone allow for "None", "Pattern", "Password", and "Pin". Nov 15, 2010I have what seems to be a resonably common problem with my phone being locked out after too may pattern recognition attempts (My son's playfull fingers methinks).
I have consulted the forums including this one and it seems clear that the Log on fix for the google account using null as the password may work for some but hasn't for me.
I have tried to do a repair on the phone, but using pc companion i cannot get this too work, i cannot get into pc companion normally because the software is asking me to put the phone into Usb connect mode which i can't because i am locked out the phone.
method (that works) to get me phone to being useable again? perhaps i am doing the repair method wrong ( holding the back ket then connecting the usb cable does nothing)

Nov 17, 2010I set the trace a pattern security system for the phone. Later when trying to do two things at once I got the pattern wrong five times. I then compounded the problem by getting the succeeding attempts wrong as well until the phone locked me out. Like many others it seems I set-up my gmail account without recording the pertinant details, gmail address and password, these are the requirements to unlock the phone. The official X10 user guide is no help on the subject. I have also been to various websites looking for advice and have found no information at all, apart from don't do it of course! I went to a phone shop and their advice was to use PC Companion to reset the phone but of course I need to mount the phone in order that the software sees it. I am resigned to resetting the phone as the solution as I am backed up but even if I reset I will still need the gmail info to enable all of the Google features. I know it is the result of being a dufus but it seems like a bit of a terminal cul-de-sac at the moment.
