Jul 2, 2010I'm working in an area of Virginia in a few weeks (National Boy Scout Jamboree) and I was told that the Sprint coverage is "very spotty to none xistant".AT&T is a sponsor and is "saturating" the area with voice and data coverage.Can I just go to an AT&T store and buy one of those "one month" or "pay as you go" sim cards and throw it in my 9650??That seems to easy. Do I have to change any settings on my phone??? Will my email still get pushed to it? Anybody ever do this before?Yes, I know I'll get a new number but that's not an issue to me.

May 11, 2010I just bought an unlocked BB 9700 a couple of weeks ago and brought it to Costa Rica, it was working like a charm, until last night. The phone died (no charge) and when plugged back in, it started rebooting itself. I didn't notice this until this morning (it rebooted all night long) and now I am able to use the phone without the SIM card in, but as soon as i put the sim in, the phone goes on an endlees reboot.

Feb 27, 2010I bought a great at&t 9700 today which i tested before i paid for. I got home and noticed the sim card was tough to get in and i forced it. Doing this broke a contact point off in the sim socket giving initialization failed message. I took the phone apart trying to come up with a fix of my own...... no success

Nov 14, 2011Device info Your carrier: Celcom Malaysia Model: 9780 OS: OS6 Battery Pull didn't solve my issue. my previous sim card had a problem and I had to change sim card but still keep the phone number.Now when I managed to change sim, the BB Protect gave me a notification within the app itself notifying me about my sim card being changed. Being prompted to login using BB ID to verify this change, I tried to log in but it was with no success. Now, my 9780 isnt connected to BIS regardless of having 3G coverage.I also had BB Protect on with my previous sim, when I changed card it gave me a message to confirm this change and asked to login with my BB ID, but tried over wifi and BIS but cant connect.
Having so much diffculties, I made a backup on my pc and run the security wipe. But, still unsuccessful.I tried rebooting, called my telco but still no success. Also, my telco told me that BB Protect had nothing to do with any of this and I'm from Malaysia.
