BB Bold :: Unable To Unlock The Keypad?

I recently upgraded my BB to 6.0 bundle 2949 and since then I haven't been able to: 1. Unlock my keypad. I can lock the keypad using the A button or the button on the top left of the phone, but the only way I can unlock the keypad is by restarting the phone. 2. Install application. I use the Blackberry Desktop Software to see what applications I have and the upgrade seems to have uninstalled most applications. But now it won't let me re-install them, which also means that I can't get any applications from App world.

I lock my bb my pressing the top left keypad lock button but when I press it again to unlock it it won't unlock!! The only way to unlock is to take the battery out and put it back in! It only started doin this yesterday.

If I lock the keypad (holding down A), I cannot seem to unlock it. I'm new to a blackberry, so maybe I am missing something. But according to the phone, manual, and plenty of googling, it should unlock by holding down the A again. (or A + send button)I've tried plenty of different keypad combos, but no luck.Powering down does unlock it. In fact, I usually just power it down, then interupt the power down (by hitting any key), and the keypad is then unlocked. But that's pretty incoonvenient.

I have a BB Bold 9700. My service provider is Telstra (Australia). And before you ask, no, a few battery pulls didn't fix my situation.My "4/S" button on my bold has turned super sensitive. if you breathe the wrong way - your text/screen will be filled will dozens of little "s" on the rampage. For example, if you type in the question "How are you today?" it will come up as, "ssshsow assrsse you tosssdssasssy?"As this is a hardware problem with my phone and as I am at the end of my contract, I am quite content to purchase a new phone.
However, due to the "s' button repeating like a bunny and my being half asleep when i checked my phone last night and accidently turning it OFF - I can not enter in my pin number nor my puk number into my phone. (the numbers come up as stars so I can't see which is the number I wish to enter over forty-seven thousand little 4s insinutating their way in.
Typing in the 4 numbers of my pin comes up as "********************"
Tying in the 8 numbers of my PUK comes up as "*******************************************************************"
The keyboard being broken is neither here nor there but I am explaing this to illustrate my dilemma.
(1) is it possible to somehow fiddle something so I can actually see the numbers instead of stars when I enter in my pin and puk code so I am able to delete the "4/s" when they occur and be able to open my phone and then do a backup or
(2) Is it possible to do a back up or unlock the phone using the computer while my phone is now asking for the PUK?

I have always assigned my left convience key to lock my screen. After updating to 545 I have lost the option to even choose the keypad lock opt. Does neone know where this went? I updated with the official not the beta. Also I notice volume adjustments while on a call is not precise when lowering or raising.

I have a 6300 and when I lock the keypad - pressing joystick then * It locks ok but if it remains locked for a while unlocking it takes a few attempts.It's as if the joystick button needs to be pressed a few times.It is on power saver and sleep mode and when I hit the joystick button there is a darkened screen and I can make out the instruction to hit * but hitting * doesn't unlock it.I then have to hit the joystick button a few times till a brightly lit up screen appears before I can hit * and unlock it.

I have a BB 8900 and just updated the OS to version 5. My "lock keypad" button on the top left of my device has been broken for a while so I've gotten used to locking the keyboard by holding down the * key and unlocking it by hitting * and Send. The problem is that now, when I hold down the * key the keyboard locks but hitting * and Send fails to unlock my device!

I've had an E72 for a week now, and must say that I find the keypad unlock combination of top-left followed by top-right combination most annoying! the phone continuously unlocks itself while in my pocket, and then starts calling, taking pictures, etc.. Using the (very tight) cover does not make any difference. Is there a way to change this into any other combination? (like power button first, then top left or right? or use the center button which is well protected?)

I've updated my device software on my curve 8900 to version 5. But now i can't unlock the keypad. It will lock as normal by holding down the 'a' button but using 'a' and call button now doesn't unlock but merely fades out the screen.

I just upgraded my blackberry curve 8520 smartphone to the newest software upgrade. Now when I lock the keypad I need to press the mute button to unlock it. My problem is, when I put the phone in my holster it always unlocks itself by rubbing the mute button in my holster. Is there any way to change the button to unlock the keypad?

I have exceeded the number of attempts to verify my password for blackberry protect .... n now I'm unable to login to my app world n blackberry protect ... also I am unable to edit my blackberry ID due to the login problem .... I have tried rebooting it yet no changes .... currently my wifi is on .... each time I try to edit my Blackberry ID (under the option>device>blackberry ID) , it says i have exceeded the number of attempts to verify my password , try again in 15 minutes, when the security lock out time ends .... even after 15 minutes it still says im unable u to unlock it ... n the same message appears ... and also under the blackberry protect it shows:Blackberry ID :

I use A BlackBerry Curve 8900 I had to shut down my phone and when I tried to pwer it up the keypad lock was activated . I have tried to unlock it using the lock key and also the * key but both dont work. I have also tried doing a hard reboot ( removing the battery and then turning on the phone. This has not worked either. Is there anywya to bypass the keypad lock and also can the keypad lock be deactivated.

I'm currently unable to unlock my BB 9700. I get the password prompt but upon entering the password it just goes back to the locked screen with the padlock.Using Alt + Back button I can scroll through a number of open apps but can not open or close them it, then freezes and displays a white screen until I pull the battery.
Numerous battery pulls later and still no joy.The only change on my device yesterday was a number of failed attempts to download Docs to Go ver 2.0 from the App World yesterday. My BB does a scheduled battery pull each night at 2am and the phone has been like that since the last scheduled pull (forget the name of the app).
Edit to highlight - I know the password is working as it re-prompts if I type it in incorrectly on purpose and after 2 attempts asks me to type in Blackberry.

My battery was going on my phone so I went and got the charger and on my return my phone had died. I plugged this in and gave it the 5 mins to charge up a bit. However when this had loaded and turned on - my screen was locked. I clicked the side button to unlock this which asked me to type my password in! It wont allow me to typeit in .... its like my phone doesnt pick up the buttons I am pressing. After turning this on and off several times whilst also taking the sim card out etc etc it still wont allow me to do get in my phone.

My bb don't recognize anymore the save screen password and instead to write this (*) it show letters and now i can't use it anymore because I did already 9 attempts and on the 10th it will erase all the info inside the mobile. I really don't know what to do!

i connected my phone to a "unprotected" pc to download a mp3 song. after i did that the phone started to lock and unlock his keypad without beeing touched and when i pres the buttons sometimes the phone does what that button should do and somethimes it doesent. my question is "The problem is a virus (if yes how do i deal with it) or it's an hardware problem (with the slide or something else)?"
