I've had my bold for about a year now, and just today, the blackberry logo has been missing from where it shows how much reception you have, whether you've got 3G etc. According to my reception bar, I have full signal and 3G but am unable to send emails, bbms etc. I haven't moved in the past year, and have tried doing a battery-pull but to no avail.

View 8 Replies View RelatedEvery time I charge my Bold (9650) I loose 2 bars of reception, this is not good due to the fact I only get 2 bars of reception in my house, my job requires me to be 'on call' and many times I haven't been notified of a situation that I need to address due to the fact I have lost reception- it will have low reception initially after it is plugged in but after an hour or 2 it looses reception completely- after I unplug the phone I immediately gain 2 bars of reception- also many times when I am texting the phone will freeze for approx 20 seconds - to the point of throwing the freaking phone against the wall (durable phone though).
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn places with not very good reception (1-3 bars) of T-Mobile EDGE, my phone seems to be defaulting to AT&T and thus I get SOS. But I know service exists, since I've tested other phones in the same location, even another 9700. For example, we were sitting side by side today, he was getting 3 bars of EDGE while mine was sitting on SOS. We switched spots and still same deal.It happens whether I choose Automatic or Manual carrier selection, or just 2G or 3G and 2G. Does it sound most like a software issue, hardware issue, or SIM card issue?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI need help getting cell tower reception on my phone. Using China Unicom as Network Carrier. I am located in Guangzhou China (a major metropolis). The problem is not with the SIM Card itself because it has been tested and placed in other phones & it works well. Reception Bars fluctuate between 0-2 bars at most, both in and outdoors.Have noticed these problems since upgrading the phone to IOS 5.0 & now also on 5.1.1. No problem with Wi-Fi Networks. I have also tried Resetting the Network & taking out the SIM Card and putting it back in, but this has not helped.

i charged my iphone overnight and it is turned off. i noticed for the past few days that the plug symbol when an iphone is fully charged never appears. the iphone seems to be still charging. but when i turn on my phone it says that it is 100% charged. why wouldnt the charging symbol change into the full plug symbol when fully charged?

My new Bold 9900 has stopped automatically searching for the network, so basically every time I go on the underground, it loses reception (obviously), but then it doesn't automatically find it again when I am out in the open. I don't think i have changed any settings..

View 7 Replies View RelatedI know there are multiple threads out there discussing this and I looked at most of them but this is different. My 9700 has gotten great battery life since day one, but this weekend I went out to the desert and didn't use my phone much because I only had EDGE but it was dropping in and out constantly, I had a full charge on Thursday morning and when I got home Saturday afternoon I had 20% which is pretty damn good I'm not complaining about that. When I got home I charged it fully and then on the middle of the day on Sunday my batter was almost dead. Same thing Monday and same thing today. I fully charged it yesterday afternoon and this morning it was at 25% and I hardly used my phone yesterday. SOMETHING has happened to my battery life, I'm running 5.0.0593 which hasn't ever gotten me fantastic battery life but its been okay but now its just shot.
I haven't changed anything on my BB for this to happen so I'm posting here for ideas of what could be causing this, I've looked at programs running closed everything I can and do not have WIFI or bluetooth on and Have constant good 3G reception.
i did couple time reinsert battery n stay same...cant load...want to wipe with bbsak also cant.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 9700 on swisscom, and I have a problem. My phone used to connect to the 3G Network and BIS perfectly fine until about 5 weeks ago. It still connects to the 3G, but the symbol stays small (no data/no bis). If I turn the network settings to 2G only, I have no trouble connecting to the BIS and Data, and I also don't drop the signal. The wierd thing is that it used to work perfectly and now 3G just doesent properly work.I have tried everything I can think of, I bought a new sim card, reloaded preveious OS versions where It worked on, resend registration message, deleted my bis and so on. What else could I try? as this is 3G phone and I want to use 3G.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had my Blackberry 9700 for about 5 months. In the beginning I would get about three days out of my battery, with normal use. About a month ago I noticed the data symbol operating all the time (data in and data out) and my battery started lasting less than a day (even on days that it was hardly or never used). I took it back to Telstra (Australia) who sent it away and then provided me with a replacement (with no explanation of what was wrong with the first one.) Unfortunately the new one does exactly the same thing!
I have been on numerous websites looking for an answer to no avail. I have tried all the battery saving hints and check I leave nothing open. I have rebooted daily, still to no avail. I am on the brink of tossing it and going back to Nokia, which is a great shame as I had been really enjoying my Blackberry until now. The nature of my business means that I have to have a phone that is reliable and will work for more than 12 hours away from a power source.
I feel something is operating behind the scenes but I have added nothing. I haven't even put my email on this new one yet and I am a little tech challenged so I have loaded no new apps or anything, it is as new.

I was given a blackberyy for BBM. I bnought a sim and memory card. It was activated. I have been sending messages and all I get is an "action pending" symbol. No incoming or outgoing connection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just called a friend of mine that was planning on snagging an iPhone 4 within the next couple of weeks. He has a 3G and SWEARS BY using protective cases. He had multiple cases for his 3G. I asked him if he was going to get the new iPhone 4 anytime soon, and he replied "i'm going to wait until they get these reception issues fixed." I replied by saying, "well you use a case on your iPhone, so you shouldn't have any issues at all. In fact, I get BETTER signal strength with this iPhone." He went on to basically say that he was still going to wait until they fixed this "issue" with a software update. I don't understand why anyone that regularly uses a case on their iPhone, would be hesitant to buy the iPhone 4. A case shows the reception issue out the window. It's too bad all this bad publicity is making people think twice about buying this amazing phone. I know there are other issues besides the reception problem, but the reception issue is the most common. Everything else should be easily fixed by getting a replacement. I don't understand why there are still people complaining about sensor issues. Go get a replacement already.
