Using BB 9900 Bold with 7.0 OS on Bell. Want to update to 7.1 but the desktop manager is always failing (not only can I not backup my data for backup/restore, it wont allow the OS update to work).
View 2 RepliesI can put a iPhone together with my eyes closed but when you are talking about jailbreaking and syncing I havent done much of it so I need some help. I have a 3Gs 16gb 3.1.3 NOT jailbroke or unlocked. I didnt see the need before so I updated it and now I want to tether with my pc backed it up before I sent it in to Apple for warrany work. I transferred my info to a 3G 8gb that was 3.1.2, it is jailbroke. when I transfered my info from my 3gs it changed my 3g to 3.1.3 (but it did not updated the firmware through iTunes cause I was watching for it) but anyway the 3g is still jailbroke.
I got my new 3gs from Apple today and want to syn my old info plus maybe some new info from the 3g over the last several days and put it all on my 3gs. I really only need my contacts, my text messages, and apps if I can but I can manually download the apps again if need be but I have 100's of contacts for both of my business.
Ever since I have updated to iOS5, I have been having problem with updating my song info (artist, album. song title however seems to work). I manage my songs manually and they are shown to be updated in itunes. However this is not the case when I browse my songs in the music app in my iphone.
I have tried various ways such as switching off 'group by album artist' in setting, updating ID3 tags, but these did not work. The only way to get the songs showing up normally is if I add my songs to the itunes library, change the info there and drag them back to my iphone in the Device section. Is there any way I can update my song infos in the device section and have them correctly showing in my iphone like the old days?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently had the app error 523, and because I stupidly hadn't backed up on my PC, I lost everything as I had to reload the OS etc. I use things like my calendar etc a lot, so hate the idea that my blackberry could stop working again at any time and I'd lose everything since my last back up.
So is there a way to wirelessly backup through the blackberry's own internet, or is doing it through the desktop manager the only way?
when i was trying to load os 6 to my bold.my bold was disconnected during the process. then my bold 9700 just stuck at the loading screen when its turned on. then after a while, a white screen with "App Error 200" is shown on the screen. so,what should i do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had my email service set up for a while now, I just went through and deleted a ton of emails on the comptuer and realized that it did not delete them from the phone. No big deal I just did the delete priors on the phone, well it deleted all emails up to a certain date. I did delete prior again and nothing, I tried to manually delete these emails one at a time and they wont go away. They are also not on my email account when you access it through the computer.

View 6 Replies View Relatedwhenever I plug it into my computer or search the Device/System folders manually they are hidden (on the bb) or they are simply not there (when i use the explorer) i hat to format the bb a few times, and the problem gets solved for a few minutes.the deal with this is that when i sync the music, wheter is copy and paste on the explorer music folder in the pc or using the BB desktop manager media sync software, it uses the device space, the music gets actually synced into the device but I cannot access this music from the media library. when i try to it says that there is only 1 song, and its the default one that comes with the cellphone; so I look up in the Files app, Device/System folders and they are all Hidden.
I dont know why this folders are hidden so whenever i wanna have access to my music i have to go to files, device folders, show hidden stuff and finally i can see my songs... the thing is that i have to play one by one and i cannot change or switch apps since its not streaming in the media player....im worried about this, Ive reseted the cellphone, backed up, even formated it at the my computer, blackberry(M) properties..

i'm trying to update my OS Software to the 7.1 version (7.1.0.1997), I currently have the 7.0 Bundle 2392.I'm trying to update the software using the Desktop Software on a Mac. It has trouble connecting to my device and indicates the need for an update, but when it gets to the part of backing up social feeds, it gives me an error message and disconnects my phone. I also can't back up my phone using the desktop software (it gets to the same part of social feeds and then gives me an error message as well).

View 1 Replies View RelatedToday, I signed up for Blackberry Email Service with T-Mobile. I got a message that an update was available, so I downloaded and installed it. However, when the Blackberry rebooted after the installation, (which seemed to take much longer than normal), the screen reads "Blackberry Platform 6.6.0.195" followed by a listing of all of the programs and apps on the Blackberry. There's also an error message that reads, "Uncaught Exception: java.lang.Null Pointer Exception". When I click "OK" there is another message reading, "Uncaught Exception:ApplicationRegistry.wait For(0xbfca09409ffe99e5) timeout. Then I get another reading, "Uncaught Exception:java.lang.Error" Every application on the list seems to have an error, and nothing will open. But I can't even shut the phone off. I have tried all of the four different reboot methods, but nothing seems to work.
I am wondering if I were to sync the Blackberry with the Blackberry Desktop Manager on my lpatop if it would reset the OS to the way it was before the update.
I can access blackberry App World but cannot access my world. It says load latest blackberry ID then go to UPDATE but after that it gives an error : "Sorry, there is no compatible version of Blackberry ID available at this time"

A backup was made before installation; and although a second update attempt was succesful, I am unable to find or use the backup that the loader made. I also tried connecting the phone to another computer that I had previously backed it up on, but the computer now recognizes the phone as new, and not as the phone previously backed up. how to correct it? Another problem is when i use it for gps navigation, i type a new addresss i need to gets to and i display it on map, when i drive, the spot showing me is moving, however the map is not moving along with it, after a while it just goes out of the map. When I send an e-mail using gmail, from the browser client or outlook, it will automatically update the message in my sent messages folder in the device.However, this does not happen with IMAP. When I sent an IMAP email from a browser client or outlook, the e-mail never shows up in the sent messages folder on the blackberry. I can't get it to either.
This confuses and disorganizes me sometimes. Sometimes I send an e-mail through an IMAP account through outlook. Since it doesn't show up in my phone's sent folder, I sometimes send a very similar message though I already did. I have 8 e-mail accounts on my phone. One is gmail, the remaining 7 are IMAP.
I TRIED updating my nokia 5230 by using OVI suite and during update my nokia 5230 suddenly turned off and updating stopped. I disconnected usb cable and tried to turn on the set but it wont turn on. I tried to recharge it and restart it but it also didnt work. Now its still off and I don`t know what to do anymore.

When the phone is locked (not just the keyboard but password enabled) there are times that the time is not updating unless I unlock the phone. My old Curve never did this, it showed the current time regardless of the password.Is there a fix for this? I saw a thread in the 9700 forum that this was an issue back in April, guess it still is? Any suggestions would be great, since I don't wear a watch anymore. My blackberry is the only way I am ever on time anymore.
