I have a 9700 Bold with version 6.0.0.570.6.6.0.212 and the desktop version 2.1.0 build 24 on Mac. Now the problem is that when I try to do a backup it comes up with the following message "The backup failed due to an unexpected error. Try backing up your data again. If this continues, please contact RIM technical support" I have tried this over and over with the same result.
View 3 RepliesI did a normal backup and just before it finished, a message came up saying the DM could not backup one Theme. I clicked OK and then it comes up with another message and it says Backup completed ... click OK .So is it just one theme that's odd and not being backed up? (which I don't mind) With (hopefully) the rest of my stuff backed up as usual.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently got an update that required a backup. I left my phone on over night. I woke up and discovered an App Error 603. I clicked reset, then it restarted the phone. However, it takes me back to the backup your data screen at 0%. Then an application permerssion notice comes up with Allow or Deny. I try to click either one and it freezes and goes back to the App Error 603 notice.

And it has been a disaster since I received the update thru the Update Software Section on my phone but since then is has only gotten to 3% of the backup. I have restarted the phone several times, and pulled the battery several times and well and left the phone for hours hoping it would get itself together, to only occasionally fine (app error code:603) and yes at this present moment it is still stuck at 3% back up, this is 3rd day.

It continues to sync after that and move apps and music around, but it won't back up. I tried again after that and it wouldn't sync calendars, contacts, notes, etc. Whats going on here?By the way this is on a Macbook with the newest updates for Snow Leapord and iTunes.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI continue to get an error message without a specific error code when trying to sync and update my iPhone 4S (5.1) to iTunes (10.6.1). This started after an Apple Techincian had me restore the iPhone because I was having WiFi issues, which continued even after the fact. This is a replacement iPhone 4S. My original 4S had battery issues and had to be replaced. Unbeknownst to me, Apple replaces with refurbished iPhones, a practice I do not agree with. I experienced the WiFi dropping from the get-go with the replacement/refurbished iPhone 4S, but hung in there hoping it was just a fluke. It appears this iPhone 4S will need to be replaced.
Back to the issue at hand. I have removed all backups from iTunes. Of course now I have no backups stored on iTunes or iCloud.I have run Disk Utilities to repair permissions. I have reset the iPhone. I tried to restore it, but it will not restore since it cannot backup current data. I have made sure all OS software is updated. I have made sure permissions are unlocked in Backup folder on my HD.

I recently updated my iPhone 4 to 5.1.1 and updated my iTunes to 10.6.3. Today I tried syncing my iPhone and after letting iTunes create a backup, it showed me this dialog: "iTunes cannot backup iPhone [name] because an error occurred." There was no error code included. I tried everything, I deleted my backups (i backed them up first (backupception lol)), I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, I rebooted my PC and iPhone.

just updated my xperia x10 to the new 2.1 op. Followed the instalation to the letter, backed up my files using the new backup n restore etc, updated it n then began the restore, now this is the frustration part. i did everything SE said to do even did 2 backups but when i try to restore it takes ages n then says could not complete. not only have i lost all contacts but more frustrating i have lost all my apps, both paid and free. my google account seems to be wrong although i cant realy remember it, tryed to get the user name/password sent to my hotmail but seems to of created a new account n i dont have these "links to re-downloads" ur android apps.

I'm consistently getting an error when trying to backup my call log in Kies (2.3.2.12054_20). I can backup everything else but the call log. I get this on 2 computers I have.
This is the error I get:

Is "Root" required for the call log to be backed up? If so, how is this done on the S II?
Pretty new to the forums and in need of some assistance. Recently and successfully flashed+debranded SE w705a. Made sure to backup contacts and restore them, no problems there. Backed up sms also by using the move to mem card option as well. As I moved them there I assume they are alright. Tje problem is however with the new FS and whatnot that came with the flashing, when I try to move them back onto the phone, they are not detected on the memory card. When I moved them to the mem card the phone gave some message in regards to losing them if you update software or something to that effect. I tried SE suite to see if I could grab them off the memory card but to no avail. Is there another program or something that I can use to transfer the sms back onto the phone?When I flashed I used the guide here: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1221924 -- using FS for Hong Kong also.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI went to the Verizon place a couple of days ago to see if they could get my phone to stop freezing and running slow. Well they accidentally deleted over half my pictures and my phone is the only place I have those pictures. Well luckily, I thought, I have a backup file and my pictures will be on there. But whenever I try to run it I get the error "data not recognized by desktop!" Some of these pictures are really really important to me and I want them back. Is there anything I can do to make the backup file work? Will it even contain the pictures? I have a blackberry storm and the verizon place said I have the most updated software.

When I try to text it sometimes goes through immediately but most times it tries with the red box and check mark and then it gives me a SMS error 97. Sometimes I get an SMS Error 0. I can no longer resend the message. This has never happend with any other blackberry I have had. It always tried to send the message until it got it through. While this is going on I still recieve e-mails and text messages. What is the problem and how can I address it?

I have tried to sync my phone to both my old desktop and my brand new laptop running the lastest version of iTunes but I keep geeting the same error. I have also tried deleteing the old backup file from the backup folder I'm trying to backup my old 3GS because my friend game me a new 3GS in perfect condition and I would like to transerfer everything over to it so I can start using it. I had a curve 8310 on o2 and moved to a bold 9700 still on o2.When i moved i used the desktop manager and did the device switch over, all went well including bbm etc.However whenever i tried to send an email i recieved the error message 'transaction error failure at service' - I tried to log into my bis account online to update my pin but i couldnt log on! i havent changed the password or username since my old blackberry so i cant log on to change it online. on my blackberry when i try to log on to email settings it says the username field is blank!
i called o2 they put me through to geek squad and wanted to charge me to help!!! I havent had the phone 2 weeks yet.Now i think that i need to call o2 again and ask them something like releasing my old pin maybe from my bis account or resetting the bis account,any ideas what i should do or the type of questions i need to ask o2 if i have to ring them again.
