Problem adding new contacts? When I go to my contacts book - to "new contact" and click to add -- nothing happens - it's as if I didn't click it - or else it freezes up and I have to do a hard reboot. Same thing if I go to the call log and click to "add to contacts" -- nothing happens. Blackberry Bold 9700.
View 3 RepliesCan't seem to revert to OS 5 coz my desktop software (fully up to date) can't seem to connect to the device. The USB connection worked perfectly 10 minutes ago before I upgraded to 6. My problem is that I can't use the trackpad to click accept on the licence agreement, the trackpad seems dead itself, can't scroll or anything and the agreement is on the screen all the time..
View 2 Replies View RelatedRandomly, my BB will start sending/recieving data (the rx/tx arrows constantly changing back and forth) and the entire phone will lock up. None of the buttons work, it wont respond to anything for about 2-4 mins. Then everything returns to normal. I notice it most in the facebook app or Viigo, mostly because thats when im scrolling a lot. Occasionally, the last button pressed will register after it wakes up from its coma, ie, if i press the back button when its frozen, and nothing after that, when it wakes up, it will *sometimes* register the button. I never get any messages or anything when its doing this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday my phone got cut off (forgot to make a payment. Sue me). I called ATT, made the payment and got the phone up and running. Problem was, my blackberry browser, ubertwitter and Facebook didn't work. But for some reason my opera mini did work. I called ATT and they did whatever it is they do and my phone worked again. This morning my phone froze. It stayed on the main screen and didn't do anything else. I did a battery pull and got the same thing. Now I can't even do a wipe because the phone stops responding when it gets to the main screen and my desktop manager doesn't recognize the phone when I plug it in. Can anyone help? I'm starting to wish I had just bought a damned iPhone.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI did a forum search for my problem, and couldn't find an answer for my specific issue, which is this:My AT&T 9700 worked great until about a month ago, when it started to freeze while I was text messaging. Looking through the forums here, I noticed that it was happening when I had large numbers of saved texts, and I started deleting the threaded messages so that I was never over about 20-25 texts per person. That solved the problem for 2 weeks.Last week, I started deleting all text messages beyond 15 texts, total, and still I have the issue. I just had the phone freeze and refuse to allow me into the threaded portion of the text after just 3 texts (2 from my wife and 1 from me)!Does anyone else have this problem? I have done the following as well, in order:
Battery pull
Factory reset, no additional applications
Upgraded to the latest AT&T approved OS (5.0.0.602?)

Each time, the problem has recurred. I never have less than 105MB of application memory available.
I run my practice via email and text messages when I am (frequently) out of the office, so this is becoming a critical issue for me. Ideas?
I have a Bold 9700 upgraded to OS 6 about 1 year ago, in the last 2 - 3 months my phone seems to freeze constantly and the only way to stop it is to pull the battery. Another issue I'm having is that I get an "application memory low" message about twice to three times a day asking me to delete applications, I am now down to two applications on my phone....a banking app and a music app....and I'm still getting the message.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
So my 9700 today decides to act up. And now on re-boot/battery pull the progress bar on the black 'BlackBerry" boot up screen freezes at ~ 60% complete...UGH!!! HELP!!!!ATT US stock OS...

I searched the forums for the exact same issue and didn't come across a thread. If anyone has any ideas or possibly a link to the solution feel free to toss err in.

The sync works between the two devises however it does not recognize the loads of contacts that are on my blackberry devise. I have tried all of the options on the advanced sync option to try toget outlook to download the contact from the Blackberry 9700. How do I get these two to synchronize?

so i cross my finger while it was doing it. to my relieve it starts ok. But after few hours when i want to call somebody on my phone book, to my horror, the whole contacts on the address book are gone, not even 1 left, it’s totally empty. bbm, notepad, email, bookmarks, sms are fine , nothing is missing only the contacts are gone, and I’m now overseas for company meeting, and i didn’t bring any backup file with me, I’ve been a maniac for smart phones, i used Symbian, IPhone, android, winMo, etc and NONE of them ever give me such a problem out of no where, my 2000+ contacts are gone. And no I didn’t install or do anything to my phone since few weeks, cause I’m on my business trip.
is there any solution to my problem? I’ve tried sending service book bust doesn’t seem to help. Seriously, if Any of RIM employee or designer happens to see this post, i got question for you. This supposed to be a business phone, and now all my business contacts are gone.
My apologies if this is discussed somewhere else, I looked, couldnt find it. So does anybody know of an easy way to sync my contacts FROM my blackberry TO my gmail contacts? I have google sync on my phone, but that only messed up my contacts by dumping a bunch of duplicates into my BB contacts and it doesnt seem to reverse sync. I have since deleted my gmail contacts so I dont suffer this fate again, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to reverse sync from BB to gmail.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded to the 9700 from the 8900. Having issues synchronizing the address book through the DM. It synchs only 3/4 of the addresses and none of the email addresses. For example I have 361 contacts. It synchs only 290 of them and leaves off all the email addresses on all of them. Never had an issue synching before on the 8900 or 8350i.

I did a couple searches but I didn't find my problem. I'm sure there's a thread and sorry if there is as SMS problems with the 9700 are relatively common.
google sync is duplicating my contacts, even though in my gmail contacts there are NO DUPLICATES.

1. Can I download my contacts to a PC via Bluetooth or USB to manage them - update, alter, delete etc and be in sync with the Berry as I do it?
2. Can I replace all sim contacts with the then updated contacts list held on the phone?
3. How tough is the screen? After using phones with a hard surface for so long I was surprised to find a sqishy (technical term that) type screen. Are the screen protector companies and RIM one and the same?
A bussiness phone with a delicate screen, surely not, you wouldn't buy a car and drive around with a cover on it in case it got dirty and the paint washed off.
When I add a contact, is it automatically saved to my sim card? Or do I have to do something else? Can't really find an answer in the phone.

When I choose Compose sms, then choose a contact or type in a number, the chat window always appear with the same contact. And I don't seem to be able to send txts to any other one..I tryied a soft and a hard reset with no effect.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my service was shut off for 1 day because apparently it takes ROGERS more than 6 days to receive a payment made online...but that's another story. Got my service back on today and decided to reboot it and make sure the 3G and everything could fully reset. THEN I realize that my contacts are messed up, where some are completely missing, and others are multiplied 3,5,7 or 10 times! And this is not because there are multiple #'s under one contact - the same number and name is listed multiple times.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the bold 9700 V5.0.0.321 I had all my contacts duplicated due to sync of my phone with the gmail.on one the contact it duplicate about 10 names and when i tried to delete one of them it deleted everyone of those names. I found out (maybe the wrong way) that you go to the address book press Options -> then press R S E T -> which deleted all of my contacts in the address book and now I cant restore it back. Every time I input the data names and numbers it wont save it. I had the back up but it says the DM doesn't recognise the data. Is there anyone that can help me on how to put my contacts back into my phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBasically none of my contacts are showing up on my contact list, they seemed to have all been deleted! Also I am not using any filters. As well as this, all my text messages have no contact names assigned to them, just their number. However in my call log, my contacts names come up... And when I click on view contact through the call log, the contact's details all come up! For example, one of my contacts, John, is saved on my call log and when I click on view contact through the call log, his address and number comes up, so it is saved. However when he calls, his name doesnt come up. So I'm assuming my contacts are saved on my phone somewhere, but they dont seem to come up on my contact list or text messages!! I recently added my gmail account to my Blackberry.

In between I added the Facebook application as well.
