Blackberry bold 9900. Using the desktop software. Just did some updates. Now synching my address book to Yahoo Contacts is no longer an option. The only option is Windows Contacts. Only option for Tasks is iCalendar.

I downloaded Google sync and it said that it synced calendar and contacts but I think the contacts went from the bold to Google since I don't actually use a Gmail account.Is there an easy and safe way to import/export my yahoo contacts into my blackberry?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm done banging my head against a wall and have searched and searched on how to fix this, as although I'm a newbie to this site, I feel like I can generally navigate myself around my BB to fix issues here and there. This one, I cannot, for the life of me! Here's the situation: I had to wipe my entire BB Bold the other day. I did that successful, reloaded all my settings/applications and all was well and good, including syncing my Calendar and Contacts. I realized that my contacts were double, triple and sometimes quadropled during the syncing process, thus having the duplicates on both my device and Outlook. Not to mention, totally reconfigured my "File As" in my Outlook - but that's another topic. Issue at hand, after turning the Wireless Syncronization OFF, checking my Default services and following any advice here on the forums. I now can't get ANY of my contacts to sync from Outlook to my device. Except 2 random contacts. When I go to sync, it registers the address book and asks if I want to delete 8XX contacts from Outlook to Device, which I DON't!Anyway, long winded.

I inputted my Exchange account and my Yahoo! account and added the Yahoo! carddav file and everything worked perfectly... for a week. Yesterday, one by one, my contacts were dissappearing. My son's name was gone, just his phone number in my favorites; several of my contacts disappeared.
I deleted my Yahoo accounts from my phone, readded them, and nothing! I've even delted my Exchange account to see if that was an issue and only had the Yahoo account active, and still nothing. Do I need to move all my Yahoo! contacts to gmail? Is there a solution or reason why Yahoo! is not syncing?
I read that if you sync your phone with Itunes, you can collect your yahoo contacts, but here is my question. Does syncing Itunes and Yahoo via usb stop the data from wirelessly syncing also?
My goal is to not to have to plug my iphone into my computer to sync my contacts.

When I sync my iPhone 4 with my computer, it says it can't sync with my Yahoo account (as it has been for the past year) because I don't have an internet connection. I have wireless interent connection and I've checked everything - it's hooked up and I've tried to close out programs, restart etc. I have the latest iTunes version on my computer.

i recently switched phone providers from ais in thailand to t-mobile in the netherlands. shortly after, i decided to activate my ymail account on my bb and, of course, synced my contacts. before i get to the problem. i had one issue earlier already, regarding address book contacts that were sent via bbm. i couldn't erase them, ever. i did tried removing the battery as suggested in other threads but it didn't work.anyways, what happened shortly after the ymail sync is that all my contacts disappeared, while the contact that was not erasable multiplied. i have it about 10 times now. in addition, this error message turns up on startup:
uncaught exception java.lang.NullPointerException
i looked around in other feeds but couldn't find a solution. i checked the address book filters (they are all off). when i chose address book >> options >> ...@ymail.com it appeared that all my contacts still exist on the yahoo server. i just can't access them for some reason. i downloaded them from yahoo for now. i'm sure there is a way to import them but i started worrying that my device software might be corrupt.so, before i start looking for a solution to reimport the contacts, i would like to know whether anyone ever experienced the multiplied contact error i have. because having 12 identical contacts that i cannot erase in my address book is kind of annoying and i would wipe the device before reimporting the contacts if there is now way to delete them.
I have a new BB 9700. I have managed to get both of my e-mail addresses on it without any problem, I have also managed to sync it with my BT Yahoo contacts list but for the life of me I cannot get it to sync with my online BT Yahoo calendar which has 10 years worth of past and future entries on it. I am using BB Manager 5.01.28. BT won't offer any support because they say it is a Yahoo issue. There doesn't appear to be any Yahoo support and my provider Vodafone has been completly useless and has promised that one of its "advanced technical team" will phone me back on two occasion but never do. Can anyone help please. i'm beginning to wish I had stuck with my old Nokia 6310.

I can no longer add a contact on my phone and expect it to be added to my Address Book automatically after the next sync, and the whole 'Groups' thing confuses the crap out of me. I have my Yahoo account linked, but now I don't actually want anything to do with Yahoo (or Google) when it comes to my contacts: all I want is contacts on my phone and on my Mac, nothing else. I want to Synchronize my device address book with yahoo's
After experiencing some problems I decided to start from cero and deleted all contacts of my yahoo address book. I then synchronized with the Blackberry desktop manager (arrow pointing out in both directions) and loaded all data from the device (address book) to yahoo.
When I do changes using my PC directly in yahoo and then sync with device all works apparently OK, e.g. if I modify a name adding a surname that will be synchronized correctly in the device, however the changes I do in an existing record in my device with the sync won't be done in yahoo.
What shall I do to have all changes done to my device's adress book in the yahoo account.
I am trying to sync my Yahoo calendar with my Blackberry Bold 9700 via the Blackberry Desktop Manager (version 5.0.1) and am getting the error message "Connection to Yahoo server was lost" when the calendar sync is occurring. The only option on the screen is to press "OK". Once "OK" is pressed, the Blackberry Desktop Manager returns to the synchronization screen. The address book syncs successfully, but the calendar does not. I have tried syncing one way and both ways without success.
A few notes about the environment: I am using the newer version of Yahoo Calendar which I have seen recommended on other postings. I am using standard Yahoo not the small biz version. I have seen this recommended, too.I am connecting my Blackberry Bold 9700 to my laptop via the USB cable that is supplied by Blackberry.
Since this month, I have not been able to sync my BB calendar and contacts with my Yahoo account using the BB desktop manager. The process starts, but it never passes the address book part (it freezes and eventually crashes). I contacted Yahoo and they referred me to their Yahoo Intellisync. Which they don't support. I would switch to Google, but I recently changed my e-mail account; doing so one more time would be bad for business.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSince I did the current update I'm no longer getting my Yahoo (which is my primary account) email notifications (I was before the update). If I go in to check email I have messages. My Comcast accounts works fine. Background data is enabled.
Under "email settings" I have "Data Push" selected ( I even tried it with it unselected). I have fetch schedule "every 15 minutes" checked. I did notice that when I go into "Folder Sync" All the folders say "manual". I've also tried several battery pulls. If I go and open the email apps it does download the emails.
All of a sudden the phone couldn't automatically log into my yahoo email. I've changed the password and everything. Now I deleted the account from the phone and tried adding it again. It says "authentication failed, verify username and password". I'm 100% certain both are correct.

I have google sync on my phone, but that only messed up my contacts by dumping a bunch of duplicates into my BB contacts and it doesnt seem to reverse sync. I have since deleted my gmail contacts so I dont suffer this fate again, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to reverse sync from BB to gmail.

I thought maybe it was my bb desktop/outlook. i downloaded google sync and tried to sync that way. doing that on my phone still only recognizes 30. i went thought all my menus on my phone trying to see if the 30 contacts that sync have something selected that the others dont.
