BB Storm :: 9550 Outlook Sync To Contacts?
Sep 6, 2011I am having a lot of trouble with my address book and keeping my contacts. I cannot sync with desktop manager because says address book not installed. I also cannot restore from desktop mananger or blackberry protect (only interested in address book). I keep this thing updated and backed up in three seperate places just because I can, but now this does not even help. I have read several post with different options about rebooting, downgrading to earlier os version and nothing has helped. When I do a hard boot I get a java null error. I even took it back to the service provider and they wiped the phone (I had already done the same) and still nothing other than I have to start all over with reinstalling 3rd party app ( poynt and xobni) this all I have added back to my phone.

May 31, 2010Hi, wasn't sure if this was the best forum to post this issue in or not. I have yahool email through BIS on my Storm 2. Recently, my blackberry fails to sync with messages deleted in my yahoo inbox. I have to go on the device and delete the email a second time. Has anyone else had this issue or can you offer any advice to fix the issue?
I have tried waiting an hour or more to see if the blackberry will reconcile and remove the messages. Also, I go into my email and select reconcile now. These things did not work. I have not changed any of my email sync settings from when the blackberry was syncing fully. They are still set to inbox wins. Also, I even tried resending service books and deleting/reinstalling the yahoo email. None of these have worked so far!
BB Storm :: Crashing While Copy Contacts To Yahoo?
Jan 7, 2012I have a Storm 2 9520 and want to copy all my contacts to yahoo, I have about 550 names and numbers and have been through the synchronization procedures loads of times but each time it gets about half way through and crashes. I am using 5.0 Bundle 1611 and have tried it on Windows Vista v6 and Windows 7, but it just stops and says "Blackberry Desktop Software has stopped working" I have removed any odd symbols from the contact names just in case that was the problem but to no avail.

May 24, 2010I am having issues syncing to Outlook. I am running the 5.0.0.713 version (Bundle 1206 Platform 4.2.0.323). I dont' know if it has any bearing but Verizon is my carrier.
The basic problem is that when I want to sync my information from Outlook to my device the sync wants to put back into Outlook all the information I have removed from Outlook. The option to have Outlook win in any conflict does not seem to have any effect in filtering out these entries. This also occurs with Calendar, Memo, and Tasks.
On my Palm I had the option to OVERWRITE the device with the information from Outlook. Is there such a feature? It seems a waste of my time to delete all the information each time I want to sync the device.

I inputted my Exchange account and my Yahoo! account and added the Yahoo! carddav file and everything worked perfectly... for a week. Yesterday, one by one, my contacts were dissappearing. My son's name was gone, just his phone number in my favorites; several of my contacts disappeared.
I deleted my Yahoo accounts from my phone, readded them, and nothing! I've even delted my Exchange account to see if that was an issue and only had the Yahoo account active, and still nothing. Do I need to move all my Yahoo! contacts to gmail? Is there a solution or reason why Yahoo! is not syncing?
I read that if you sync your phone with Itunes, you can collect your yahoo contacts, but here is my question. Does syncing Itunes and Yahoo via usb stop the data from wirelessly syncing also?
My goal is to not to have to plug my iphone into my computer to sync my contacts.

May 7, 2012When I sync my iPhone 4 with my computer, it says it can't sync with my Yahoo account (as it has been for the past year) because I don't have an internet connection. I have wireless interent connection and I've checked everything - it's hooked up and I've tried to close out programs, restart etc. I have the latest iTunes version on my computer.

Jan 24, 2011i recently switched phone providers from ais in thailand to t-mobile in the netherlands. shortly after, i decided to activate my ymail account on my bb and, of course, synced my contacts. before i get to the problem. i had one issue earlier already, regarding address book contacts that were sent via bbm. i couldn't erase them, ever. i did tried removing the battery as suggested in other threads but it didn't work.anyways, what happened shortly after the ymail sync is that all my contacts disappeared, while the contact that was not erasable multiplied. i have it about 10 times now. in addition, this error message turns up on startup:
uncaught exception java.lang.NullPointerException
i looked around in other feeds but couldn't find a solution. i checked the address book filters (they are all off). when i chose address book >> options >> ...@ymail.com it appeared that all my contacts still exist on the yahoo server. i just can't access them for some reason. i downloaded them from yahoo for now. i'm sure there is a way to import them but i started worrying that my device software might be corrupt.so, before i start looking for a solution to reimport the contacts, i would like to know whether anyone ever experienced the multiplied contact error i have. because having 12 identical contacts that i cannot erase in my address book is kind of annoying and i would wipe the device before reimporting the contacts if there is now way to delete them.

Everytime I download the OS onto my computer (.517 and .607) I do the whole downloading process delete the vendor, go to application loader, it says new updates available for your phone, it does the whole downloading process but my phone still ends up with .320 --no changes. Am I missing a step, am I not supposed to delete the vendor.xml file or something.

Jan 18, 2010I have a bold 9700 right now and my dad is looking for a phone and he wants a bold 9700. before i get him one im wondering if i should get a different phone and give him my bold. I love the bold but the couple things that have been really bothering me are the dropped calls and over crappy service.
Hows the 9550 on telus? and would u guys suggest switching to one? Hows the keyboard for someone thats used to a physical keyboard? the only two phones i have had are the tour and bold 9700 and i really like the keyboard, but im willing to get something thats not as good for a bigger screen. I just dont want anything thats glitchy. Im pretty picky about my electronics and especially for my phone i just want it to work.
So basically my real question is is it worth it to switch to the storm? and are there any issues with the phone that someone thats a bit finicky would be pissed off at? (im not obsessed about little issues but keyboard is a huge deal to me)
Edit* and is the storm 9520 out? and does it run on hspa bands?
id like to stick to gsm and not switch back to cdma :/. and any other suggestions for phones if you dont think the s2 fits?
Edit 2* and whats all this about a 9550 gsm? is the 9550 a "world" phone? and if its gsm im assuming its the international gsm bands and i cant get gsm on telus?

Feb 12, 2010I have just bought a Storm 2 9550 that is from Verizon USA. The device is GSM unlocked, and I am using it from Hungary on a local carrier. I am in the middle of a carrier change that has Blackberry services, however I currently have 3G web access on my actual carrier. However, the integrated browser that came with the phone, does not allow me to use the 3g network, only WIFI service. I cannot even set it to 3G on the browser options tab, as it only offers "hotspot browser".
Is there any way I can find a http browser that supports the 3g network, so I could surf the web on this carrier until I complete the carrier change? Is there any on Blackberry App world? I didnt manage to find one.
Also, I would like to have a POP3 client on my device that can communicate through 3G with a pop3 mail server, as the integrated email messaging software that Blackberry device software 5 offers is only capable of having a mail account through a BB service provider.I am very staisfied with the device itself, great for managing calls, and multimedia - did not face any crashes at all (maybe once when I wnated to take a picture and it frozen when the flash lit up).

Jun 3, 2010Have the Storm 2 and have it set with a password lock. Since sometime in mid-April, I have intermittently had an issue with it locking me out and requesting "to unlock, enter ""blackberry"" to continue." I have entered the "blackberry" password but the phone does not respond to it. I have tried turning it off and also a battery pull.... only thing that clears it is hooking it to my laptop and opening the Blackberry software program. This is rather annoying and inconvenient.... don't want to carry around my laptop in case my phone doesn't work. I have not been successful in resolving this....

Jun 13, 2012ok so here goes. as my profile states , i have an 9520 on Orange , i have BIS activated and normal data plan. for some weird reason , yahoo messenger DEDICATED APP ( the one from blackberry , or blackberry yahoo messenger how others call it) will not work. it launches , i write my user & pass , i tap on sign in and then it says "signing in as xxxxxxxxxxxx..." for a very long time after which it gives me an "Internal error" error and after i click ok on that it gives me an "Could not connect to server" error. yes , i deleted the cache , cookies , etc , yes it does work to sign in from the browser/opera and yes i did reinstall it a thousand times and yes i did asked for my service books to be resent and i replaced them.
