just bought a brand new bold 9900 yesterday and was feeling all excited about it.however, when i tried to typed messages be it a sms, whatsapp or on bbm, as long as i pressed c, z, m, n or space, the screen will get locked up immediately. tried updating my OS to 7.0 and 7.1 (current) but that doesnt help at all.wondering is the hardware defective or the problems lies with the OS.

As when I tried my phone placement outside the holster it seems to be able to auto lock if i placed it abit lower. Is there any way to get the holster replace?

As a Vodafone customer this Bold9900 is completly useless - Vodafone cannot connect my Bold9900 and I see the T of Telekom Why does RIM not have a quality assurance ? I will have it on the swipe or code lock and several days later it will just auto put it back to no screen lock. Same is happening to my wife's S5 and we have a few same apps that we have had for a year. It could be several days to one day.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my HTC one m8 for a month or so now, everything has been great till now, my phone won't auto lock. When there's a pop up notification from WhatsApp, the screen will remain lighted till I manually press the lock button. If I leave it on after surfing the net or doing anything else, it won't auto lock either.
I've tried setting the auto lock timer to screen timeout from 15 seconds to 2 minutes. All that seems to do is to dictate the time the screen takes to dim. But it never locks.
I've been googling ard and it doesn't seem like this is a common problem. I suspect it has to do with exposing my phone to a magnet.
I have a BB 9900 with OS 7.1.0.694 and the Auto Dim Backlight feature adjusts the brightness of my screen, even when the box is unchecked in Options/Display. Is there a way to deal with this OTHER than reinstalling the OS?

I think it's an big error/problem for this phone. It costs 600 euros, it costs like and iphone 4. I cannot scan document. The next time I will buy an Iphone. BB bold 9900 0 - Iphone 1. Iphone wins!!

Reason is that when I unlock it again, I am at the previous screen, I have then to cancel screens to go back to my home page to start again, this is a pain.
I have a S5, the screen would just auto turn on even after lock. I have tried everything in setting but none can stop this. I have tried to move my hand above the sensor while it is locked, then the screen would turn on. The sensor would have a blue light first then the screen turn on.
Even the phone is in the bag or on the table while I am having meeting, the screen would just randomly turn on. It is very embarrassing while I am having important meeting and the phone is on the table. People may think I play phone or something like that.

Got a bold 9900 with software version 7.1.0 bundle 1149 and my carrier is vodacom South Africa. My phone will auto answer private numbers without ringing at the exact moment the call come in. Went through the settings and there is nothing wrong. Auto answer is deactivated in call options.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set my phone to go into lock mode after a period of time (like 5 min or something). I've only been able to auto-lock it with a password protection but I don't want to enter a password every time, I just want to hit the button on top to unlock it.
Also, I don't use a holster...I just throw it in my pocket. Most of the time I remember to lock it before I put it in my pocket but every time I don't, I end up calling someone. I read the other threads prior to posting and nothing.
when i press the lock button at the top of the phone to lock it, or the backlight switches off when it is idle, the phonee freezes. when i press the lock button to unlock it (or press any other key) the keys and trackpad light up, but the screen stays blank. after a few battery pulls i finally get the phone to reboot and have to do this every time. how do i fix this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using bold2-9700 for the past 2 years and till today I havent faced any problem with it but recently, like 3 months back I bought a new bold 4-9900. It was working fine but by the second month it started giving me hangs and it got a bit slow, I know that was expected so I dint really care much but from the past 2-3 days I have been facing a new problem; my bold 4-9900 lock button is not working at all, I have even checked the settings but I could not find any thing related to it, I am really tensed as it has just been 3 months and it has given me problems.
The second problem I have facing is my scroll is not working properly as well, If I am on the menu then I am not able to scroll up or down unless and until I touch the screen. I went and checked the settings as well but no luck, but I did notice that when ever I open something on the right corner EN box appears and I think that is the thing which is not allowing the scroll to move. Please help me out as I dont want to give it for repair.
A quick question. Can't seem to be able to configure the Bold to switch screen off after certain idle time. Have set backlight timeout: 30 sec automatically dim backlight: On, but the screen stays on even when I keylock.
