I am still noob at this...i was a iPhone user since 3G...I'm only switching between the bold is really nice looking but still cant get off the lack of feature BB has, but not having to charge the BB everyday is a plus lol.anyways how to turn off auto-capitaliztion and turn off these dumb smiley face icon...we arent all women and kids using bb...

I am brand new to Blackberry - just got a Curve 8530. Playing with it, I found that two of the included "smiley" images for SMS text messages are switched - the emoticon view does not match the graphic & "name" of the picture. The items that are switched are "Straight Face" and "Whew". Is there a way to fix them - so I know which is actually sending within the message?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia 5530 XpressMusic that is 3 months old And I've had no problems with it until recently.It has come to my attention that When I send smiley faces or winks such as ^___^ or ^___~, the ^ and ~ signs do not show up to whomever i send the text message to and only the underscore ___ is seen by the reciever. In my inbox it shows those symbols but in the reciever's inbox it's just an underscore. I'm not sure if that happens to other characters since i mainly use those two.I update the software/firmware (I'm not familiar with the terminology) frequently. So I'm not sure if this problem is just the phone that I recieved or if not all phones could recieve the ^ /~ sign (i doubt it though).

I can make the change in the auto signature box, hit save, everything looks great. Except when I send messages it's still the old auto signature. If I go and click auto signature "off", the auto signature box goes away, everything looks great. Except when I send messages, the old auto signature is still being applied. I've reconciled, pulled the battery, did a quick on/off.

I used to be able to just sync the few songs I wanted to add, but since I upgraded to 6.0 it automatically tries to sync over 1000 files. I don't use the BB Desktop Software, I've been using Windows Media Player because I could sync single songs..

It works fine for close up pictures i.e. I press the button softly once and the camera focuses then the square goes green to say it focused, then I press again and it takes the picture fine. When I do the same for further away pictures I do the same process but the square never goes green....so the autofocus did not work. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
The camera settings are on normal for autofocus BTW.
There's no auto phone book function in 9700? For example, I saved a contact 12345678. Hence, from the main screen when I pressed 123, the contact I had saved earlier didn't show up. Is that a common problem of 9700?

The pictures look great and seem to adjust under bad lighting, great camera but when i installed barcode scanner program and tried it i realized the auto focus is not working and from what iam reading, even it it worked you have to use the right convence key, makes upclose pic hard to take. I tried pulling the battery, lowered quality setting "whats the point in that?", set auto focus to "normal" and "upclose" but still the camera's not focusing. I tried all this through the barcode program and just using the camera, someone please help, everything else seems to be working great.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set my phone to go into lock mode after a period of time (like 5 min or something). I've only been able to auto-lock it with a password protection but I don't want to enter a password every time, I just want to hit the button on top to unlock it.
Also, I don't use a holster...I just throw it in my pocket. Most of the time I remember to lock it before I put it in my pocket but every time I don't, I end up calling someone. I read the other threads prior to posting and nothing.
Mine is at 50% and no auto-dim.

When I delete emails on my BB, I noticed that the emails get downloaded again when I access my Mac Mail. Likewise, when I've deleted emails from my mac, they get downloaded again on my BB. How can I configure my BB and mac in such a way that the emails will not get downloaded from the server again after deleting?
I've tried going into: Options>SMS>Disable Auto Text>Save. It doesn't work. Is there another way to disable this fucnction? I get tired of seeing the box with word suggestions as I type messages.

Once I transfer language from eng to other language with the keyboard shortcut (alt+enter ) the auto text stops working. Furthermore, the option box just disappears from the menu (options - text and languages ) !. Reset by battery removal fixes the problem.But, onces you repeat the above action the auto text complete disappears again...Some bug is there.... tried it with all 5 devices of my office.I contacted my provider- they were not aware of the problem and I demonstrated it to them. They dont know how to solve it...

Suddenly this morning the wifi stop working. I'm unable to switch the wifi on even clicking on it many times.
