i've had my 9700 for a few days now, but the screen continues to amaze me. it's really down to the super high pixel density - but everything just looks amazing on it!!! i converted a few dvd's to h.264 format to watch on it, and even these regular dvd's look like hd on this little thing!!! i'm just amazed... photos from website look so vivid! and i've had iphones since 07 (a 2g, then a 3gs), and nexus one for a couple weeks (returned it - too many issues). i will say the 9700 screen, despite being small, still looks better than the famed oled nexus screen... if a bold style screen gets released by rim in oled/amoled version... watch out!!! now, if only there was a way to get high quality Internet vids to show up on it (rather than the horrendously jaggedy low res versions...)

I was helped last night to move the converted files to my BB, when I go to test them as ringtones a message comes up "the ring tone is invalid". That occurred with both formats. It doesn't matter if I sick the micro SD into an adapter or try to connect my 9700 through a USB, how can I retrieve all my data, and than format? It is a 16GB Kingston HC media card.How do I avoid the format and retrieve my data? Appreciate your help. I did not experience this issue until a few days back and I tried the battery pull mechanism, which only reset the phone.

Its been a couple days but the sample video will show up once in a while too. Its getting so annoying. How do I delete them for good? Also is there a way to delete visual voicemail for good too?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Bold is stuck on the boot screen (at about 75%). I've tried many battery pulls with and without the SIM and it keeps doing the same thing. I've searched what I think are all the threads on here relating to this, but I'm still stuck. I'm able to connect to the device if I run Loader.exe like a user suggested, but I don't know how/where to get software to load onto the device. All the places I've searched for an OS says I need to go into the device to find information about it. Well, I can't get into the device to do that. So, how do I know what OS to download and install? I really want to exhaust all possibilities before I have to completely wipe the device because I don't have a current backup. But, even if I wipe the device, I'm going to need to download an OS which I can't do now.

However I've woken up this morning to find it has rebooted itself and it was stuck on the loading screen about 3/4 loaded. I've done a battery pull twice and it still gets stuck at the same place. Help!
The system seems to be locked on the "Home Screen" (the screen with the picture background). You can hold down the blackberry button and it will bring up a menu where I can read my email and make calls (the trackball works here), but I can't select anything on the home screen, or on the large list of icons.

I can scroll thru the list and open, reply to my other friends, but not the one im communicating with at that moment. I press the trackpad a ton of times and it just wont open. Got my bold 9700 a month ago and finally decided to update to the latest firmware using the desktop manager.
Everything was going all fine and dandy but it is currently stuck on task 12 of 12 (restore device data) and hasnt moved for 3 hrs now...I don't want to unplug the device as it says unplugging may render some data unusable!

View 3 Replies View Relatedi recently got a bold 9700 bought used from someone. it is locked on rogers. I was updating it from os5 to os5, using desktop manager. As soon as it finished loading the os, an error 602 popped up, so i wiped the device on BBSAK so i could reload the os again. now the device is stuck on an error 507 screen. i know that i just have to reload the os, but when i plug it in using a USB cable, since it is stuck on the error 507 screen it cant connect to desktop manager or BBSAK!
