BB Bold 9000 :: New Series - Should Include Trackpad And Give It A Better Camera?
Aug 20, 2010
Does anyone else think RIM should make a new Bold 9000 series keep it the same size as the original with same screen size just maybe improve the resolution, add a trackpad and give it a better camera. Plus more RAM and all the other goods.
I would definitely buy this product. I always feel awkward when playing with a bold 9700 just seems too small.
I would like to upgrade the ISO for better dim situations, and other settings as well.Camera hardware/firmware to know if Apple could enable capabilities like this on the iPhone camera (4S)?
Bold 9700. Is there a way to include the email signature for replies so that it appears after the new text and not all the way at the bottom of the original message?
My Torch 9800 has lost the ability to zoom, either by the trackpad or using the touchscreen. It is also running very slow and freezes sometimes.I am running the most up to date software.
Why can't RIM develop a Bold 9xxx with the body of the Bold 9000 with larger memory, Trackpad, better camera? They've done it with the Tour and Curve. Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.
I love the camera on my phone, and constantly use the focus function with the trackpad. It suddenly stopped working - and I cant figure out why. Went through all the options, did a reboot, removed the battery etc - same result. The trackpad works on the bottom menu items, but it used to be that I could use it to focus in and out (up and down).
Quick question. I am starting a new Job and they are getting me a superbasic Perl. I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. I have read that the Bold 9000 even though it is older, it still outperforms the 8530...
I dropped my BlackBerry Bold 9000 on the weekend and damaged the LCD screen. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.
Not sure where to post this, but my wife and I both have the 9700. Yesterday hers quit working. The phone works and sms works.Anyways my issue is this, I am using it for personal use, but cannot send/receive pin messages, my bbm doesn't send/receive invites, and it won't let me setup a personal email. When I click on setup/email the only option available is to add an enterprise email and asks for the enterprise password.Any ideas as to why this is happening or ways around this so I can use my bbm and setup my personal emails to automatically send to my phone like I had before? Mine still works perfect. Any ideas on what needs to be done to get her email set back up and bbm working again ?
I have a bold 9000 and I can not connect to the internet. Carrier is AT&T and I live in the North East (NYC area). Worked fine up until yesterday (Jan 25). Now gmail, facebook, browser - none work. I've tried the battery pull, turning on/off the network, run a diagnostic test from mobile network options. In the mobile network test i get the volling anomolies "Blackberry PIN-PIN: No" and it says can't connect to my email (gmail).
A few days ago I pulled my phone out of the holster and It was really hot and when i looked at it i realized it was off, and wouldnt turn back on. just a red light comes on like normal upon a battery pull but after it turns off the red light comes back on again once more then stays off for good. unless i plug it in then it comes on and goes off all the time. I got it powered back up yesterday but then it did it again. Today I plugged it in and I saw a picture of a battery come up on the screen showing it as empty, i was hoping that meant it might charge up. but no such luck. My main objective is just to get the phone up long enough to back up the info on the phone.
I have a Curve 9300 with OS 6. I cannot return the device to the original retailer (out of warranty). This is kind of what happens.
1.)Trackpad stops scrolling after backlight switches back on. After waiting 10 seconds it works ok
2.) After an hour or so the trackpad stops scrolling entirely. The "push button" of trackpad still works though.
3.) I hard reset the device. Trackpad stops working entirely (doesnt scroll and pushing it as a button does not work either)
4.) I send phone in for repairs.
5.) If it works after "cleaning and reseating trackpad" my phone works fine for a few days. Then problem starts all over again.
6.)If cleaning does not work, they replace my trackpad. This usually works for a few weeks to a month. Then the problem starts all over again?I am getting sick of having the phone getting sent in for the trackpad to just be replaced again and again.
for the trackpad, 2 functions: cursor & as press button. right now the cursor function is not working, no reaction at all. but the press function is still here. can i certify the trackpad is dead already? I have Bold 9650 and the trackpad works when you scroll it to left and right. However, it can't be used as enter so I'm just using the enter on my keypad.
recently my lock button at the top hasn't be working properly, it will lock, but then won't unlock until he 10th push. Also the trackpad sometimes does not scroll up, only left and right. Also some of my letter/number keys (all the ones under the trackpad) haven't been working the first time I press them! Also the camera button isn't working sometimes, it clicks to take, but doesn't do the first mini click to focus. And lastly my ALT button hasn't been working sometimes. I've done reboots and it doesn't help. The wierd thing is, all the problems are intermittent.
Does your trackpad move down when you press the bottom of the trackpad? Once it's a bit downwards, I touch the top of the trackpad and it moves back in place.
Just wondering why rim decided not to add any illumination to their trackpads? Is there a reason for this? I just got the 9700 the other day.. and I only noticed this when I was in a dark area last night and everything was lit up nicely but a dark spot in the middle.
Does anyone know if this is how all the future models will be like or do you think there will be added light to future models?only criticism i have about the phone... other then that its amazing
I have a Telus unlocked Bold 9900 which I am using on Bell. The phone works fine for different lengths of time, and then out of nowhere the trackpad will scroll on its own. Usually up to the top repeatedly, nothing will stop it. A battery pull usually puts it straight for a little while. I read on Crackberry of similar problems, I find if I clean the trackpad it seems better for a while. Is this a software issue or hardware issue? How can I fix it.
At the moment I have 7.1.0 but does 2061 on orange, recently updated, I did a battery pull but no change, and all my apps are up to date. Before the update I was having trouble with my Trackpad, so I deleted the social feeds and blackberry messenger as an attempt to improve the battery, the battery did improve and so did the problem with the trackpad. But when I did updated my phone software blackberry messenger had come back and I was unable to delete it and then the trouble with the Trackpad started again. If that is the trouble how can I delete it so I can use the trackpad again?
So I woke up this morning to a perfectly working phone then about 30 min later the trackpad started giving me trouble. It wouldn't sense my finger as usual, it was very choppy and I had to repeat the movement multiple times before it responded. I tried a hard reset, increasting the sensitivity of the trackpad, and cleaning the track pad with no results. The only thing that works is to use some sort of fabric between my thumb and the track pad, then everything works perfectly.
I have a Bold 9990 and suddenly my trackpad is no longer scroll rolling in every direction in the main menu, my lock button no longer worked . I am very careful with my phone and I haven't dropped it or gotten it wet at all. The weird part is that the trackpad won't scroll UP on the homescreen but it was working left and right...but not in the homescreen!!!I have done several battery pulls with no results.I
my trackpad on my bold 9900 is not responding to swipes at all, i have adjusted the sensitivity, tried many battery pulls, tried wiping it with paper (suggested by someone on Internet) but nothing is happening, i would say that it is a hardware issue as nothing has been changed in relation to the software and the touch screen is still responding fine.
i can press the pad down and it works, but not to any swipes
My Bold 9780 started having glitches a couple of months ago. The P & del buttons started doin weird stuff then one night the phone switched itself off. I had to do the taking the battery out thing to get it on but it continued to switch off. I searched the net and found a solution. I took the battery out for a while then gave it a long 24hr charge. This got the phone working again. I still had a few problems with the p but nothing to serious. Over the last week the problem with the p started to happen again and 2 nights ago the phone switched itself off again. I did exactly what I had done before and it worked but once the phone is on I cannot scroll the trackpad on the main screen which means i cant do anything. if i push a few buttons i can get onto the search screen and get onto the menu where the scroll works but if i get into certain apps like messenger it doesnt scroll again. it also has been switching itself on and off again. when it first started i could still connect it to the desktop software, now i cant even do that.
I have been having trouble with my trackpad since i downloaded os 6. The trackpad freezes on one icon or refuses to scroll. I end up having to reset my phone multiple times a day. I read online that if i downgrade back to os 5 the issue goes away. How do i downgrade using the blackberry desktop software? is there a better fix?
