View 7 RepliesThe title pretty much sums it up - I have a client with a BB 8830 which isn't receiving e-mail from one single other person in their organisation (Unfortunately it's their assistant - the most important person for them to get e-mail from!). The e-mail system is a hosted exchange system, and they're set up with BES. They receive all of the e-mail fine in Outlook, but for some reason they're just not getting it on their Blackberry. Perhaps I'm phrasing my searches poorly, but I'm not seeing this issue anywhere else on the web. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or tell me what other information, if any, you might need?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been able to read email attachments before (.pdf, word, .xls) but for some reason,I can no longer receive them. There is an attachment which cannot be opened which is a winmail. dat file.To my knowledge, I have not done anything to stop the attachments opening!I upgraded to Version 5 of the software in the hope that this would resolve the problem, but it did not. I can however open .jpg files.I synchronise with Outlook which is still working normally and I can see the attachments OK in Outlook.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBusiness emails that usually show text in the message, don't show up on the Droid's email program. Instead, they show up with a blank message body and an htm doc attachment that can only be opened by downloading it and going into the messaging folder to open. If you try to open through the email they just pull up the Google browser which does not read the file. Is there an alternative email program or web browser that will allow either the message to appear in the email body (like it does on iPhones I have tried) or a browser that can read an htm file?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to OS 6 on my Bold 9700. I'm on BIS. I have 4 email addresses on my BB - 1 gmail, 1 googlemail, and 2 POP from the same domain. I can open attachments (have docs to go and attachment service) on all but one of the pop addresses (''this attachment type cannot be viewed on your device'). have resent service books, registered HRT (?) and double checked I have both docs to go and attachment service. I know it can do it because it does it for the other three..am I missing a simple setting somewhere. Oh, and I've tried quite a few battery re-boots.....

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy 8830 is now falling apart, after being of great service for more than 2 years. I am with Verizon. I cannot figure out which blackberry to go to.
Here is my must-have list:
- Actual keyboard (I cannot type on a virtual keyboard on a touch screen).
- Worldwide coverage. i.e. at least as much coverage as with my current 8830+SIM card
- WiFi
Basically I am looking for something similar to 8830, but with WiFi being the only added feature.
I am actually asking this for a friend of mine. She has the BlackBerry8830 on Sprint. I am a bold user using 5.0 Does anyone out there know if there is a beta release of OS 5.0 for the 8830?

I have around 250 photos and 15 videos in my gallery. Whenever I try to open my gallery its very slow, it takes almost 20 seconds to open up.
I have 2.3.6 Android version, and I have installed MX Video Player to view the video files.
how to avoid this launching Gallery performance issue
I know that "Boost" Mobile has the 5.0 os on their version of their 8330, and yes I know Boost is technically under sprint, but what I dont understand is why sprint hasnt taken the time to upgrade the os on their 8330!
Its not like we can just go out and purchase new phones @ retail when they decide to neglect the older models. But im not crying about it, would just love to know why.
Doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me. A prepaid phone is running better and more upto date software than my contract phone! Go Figure!
I downloaded everything to wipe and reset my bb but it wont load the software!!! why?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from the 8830 to the BB Torch, I wanted to start fresh with settings and auto text so I didn't want to go with the conventional way of getting everything from my old phone to my new one. I got all my tasks, calendar, memo, and contacts by syncing with outlook. My question is this, is there an easy way to import all my old text messages? I use them a lot for reference, and would like to have them available on my new phone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry 8830 may now be a paperweight from trying to update the software. I backed everything up by using Blackberry Desktop Manager. I started the software update process and made sure to include another back-up of everything. Soon after the process started, it hung up for 30 minutes, and since the BlackBerry screen was stuck on "Connecting to Desktop", I jiggled the USB connection a little bit to see if that would work. I have had intermittent problems in the past probably because the phone is old, and I don't always get a reliable connection (when recharging or tethering). That worked, and the "Blackberry Device Manager Properties" window showed that the Blackberry 8830 was connected and the "Updating Device Software" window showed progress as the "Backup" was completed.
The next step was "Erasing Applications" as part of the Install process, and that is where the process has been frozen for the last hour and 15 minutes. I fear that the connection failed again, and so the 8830 was inadvertently disconnected during the update. Now, no amount of jiggling will show that I am connected even though the PC knew that the Blackberry was connected ("Driver Software Installation" recognizes a Blackberry smartphone). I have a dark screen, phone off, and the dreaded 2 x red flashing light every 3 seconds that another forum poster mentioned. I cannot turn my phone on. It is not recognized as a connected device. Obviously the "Erasing Applications" remains frozen at 40%.
My Black Berry Curve 8830 freezes up and I get the Hour glass symbol. I have 6.9 MB orf memory and a memory card with plenty of memory. I takes forever to go to websites..
