This may be beyond the scope of this forum, but is there a relatively painless way to get the contacts out of iTunes into my Photon? The iPhone died and without it, I can't figure out how to get the contacts to sync. Is it possible to plug in an ipod to get it to work? I've tried different methods that I found online but have been largely unsuccessful.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have the iphone4. My laptop crashed back in February, so that was the last time I backed up my phone and was synced to a computer. I have no way of accessing anything on this computer. It doesn't turn on or anything, it is basically just a shell now, so I can't release my iphone from it's authorization with that computer and itunes. I am trying to finally sync my phone to a different computer. I went to both Verizon and the Apple store and they told me to go under my itunes preferences and make sure that the iphone does not automatically sync to the computer, so I did that. I plugged my iphone in and thankfully it didn't sync... but then they told me to manually save all my information and apps and pictures and contacts and what not from my iphone to my computer so that I had it incase everything got lost. However, there is no way for me to do this!!! I transfered my itunes purchases so it saved most of my apps, but I have no way of saving my music and photos and contacts. I'm not sure if I am supposed to backup my iphone to this computer? Or will I lose everything? And I know if I sync that I will lose everything since there is nothing saved to this computer. If someone could please help me that would be great!!! I have gone to both Apple and Verizon and read around on the internet trying to figure this out, but no one is giving straight steps on how to do this. I don't know how to save my contacts and photos and everything manually to the computer like they told me in case the sync loses everything. And this has been 5 months like this trying to get help and figure this out, and I'm definitely fed up to say the least. I also haven't even been able to update to ios 5 yet so I don't have iCloud or any other way of backing up everything.

I would like to know how to reset the password that appears on my computer screen when I try to synchronize, run back ups etc. The password that I recorded when I installed the software does not work. The blackberry keyboard password doesn't work either. I set up a Blackberry ID and that doesn't assist at all. I cant find an explanation of all the different passwords.

Is it possible to print a file such as "passwords" from backup files on my computer?

I have tried to sync my phone to both my old desktop and my brand new laptop running the lastest version of iTunes but I keep geeting the same error. I have also tried deleteing the old backup file from the backup folder I'm trying to backup my old 3GS because my friend game me a new 3GS in perfect condition and I would like to transerfer everything over to it so I can start using it. My contacts, text messages, and photos are the most important things I want to transfer to the new phone. This shouldnt be hard to do but I get the error everytime I try to sync my current phone.

I have looked around online a bunch, even went to the apple store for answers on this, and still nothing.I had a MBP, its dead, i got a new one, its awesome. but now i want to sync my iphone with this new computer, I plug the phone in, it all works and everything, but if i click "sync" on any of the check boxes in say, music. apps. rungtones. etc it says it will delete the data on my phone and replace it with the data on that itunes.
Is there a way for me to jsut transfer all my **** off the iphone so it syncs with that? this is getting really annoying. The guy in the genius bar told me to backup my phone, then restore it using itunes and that iTunes would then allow me ot sync everyhting without first deleting all the information, tried that, and it didnt work, itunes just said the same message about deleteing all my applications and data and blah blah blah.no i dont have the library from the old computer to use as a reference to copy files from.
I backed up my iphone to my computer before going to Apple Store where my phone was replaced. Once home I synced up and my apps were restored but not the pictures and video.
Are they there or were they not backed up? If they are there why weren't they restored and what can I do to restore them?

I deleted my itunes on my old computer, thinking that if I signed in to itunes on a new computer, it had all my info, apps and music. At any rate, now I have downloaded itunes on my new computer and when I go to sync my iphone, it says that its going to erase everything on my iphone. I have read some forums, but I am still unsure what to do.

I'm having trouble with using the backup from my previous Iphone 5S to my new HTC One M8.
I have made several backups and using Itunes I am always able to make a complete restore.
I am on a macbook air. The newest Itunes version.
But using HTC Sync manager I am only getting to the point: Transfer and Backup, Iphone, getting started. I only get the message We cannot find any backup of your Iphone in Itunes.
Anyway, I have a one hr video clip which i need to transfer from iphone5 to my regular non apple computer.
Tried the following:
1) I tried to plug in and transfer directly but ironically, i cannot find that clip looking at the explorer folders.
2) I also noted i can't transfer large files even if i used that auto play to transfer pics.3) I tried itunes but looking at the sync function, it keeps asking me to sync pics from my computer (but i don't wanna sync pics from my computer. I wanna sync pics from my iphone TO my computer)...
Before returning my previous company BB, I saved Contacts on my personal PC as an IPD file.
I now have a new BB (Curve 9300) from my new employers and need to transfer these Contacts from the IPD file to the new phone.
I recently bought a samsung link and discovered it can connect to my pc, but for some reason if i try to send a file to my phone from my pc or visa versa it fails. the message on my phone that appears when i try to send it a file from my computer is Vcard Failure. do i need to compress the files? i have an 8gb micro card in my phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a 16 GB memory card (which actually DOES have 16 GB memory - I ran H2TestW to make sure, having been burned) so that I could take a compressed backup of my data files with me in my phone.
I had one copied over ~ 4.5 GB with no problems, but now Windows Explorer tells me that "the disk in the destination drive is full" when I try to copy a 5.6 GB file to it. "Properties" said there was 10.5 GB free space.
Then I deleted the backup which was on it to create more space (14.8 GB) but I get the same message.
I would like to transfer photos to my HTC One X directly from my computer using the USB cable using the "Disk drive" mode on the phone. When I do that, I need to know which folder on the phone should I put the photos in. I tried putting them in the folder named "Pictures", but then I couldn't find them on the phone. They do not show up in the Gallery.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy USB connector from my Curve has been working intermittently since a couple of days and before running into more problems, I bought a Torch. I realize now that the USB connector from old Curve doesn't allow me to transfer data to my Desktop Manager. I'm looking for a way to transfer the most I have in my curve (address book, emails, notes, passwords, etc..) without my USB cable. I've been trying to hook up the 2 phones with bluethoot, but it asks me some kind of access key number of the new Torch (which I completely ignore). But even if I would have that access key, would this work?I may get a Bluetooth adaptor for my PC, as I have read that we can transfer data to Desktop Manager that way, but would have to buy such adaptor - not expensive, but if I could do it directly from 2 phones?
