IPhone :: How To Read SMS From Backup File On Win 7 Computer
May 12, 2012
I have backed up my Iphone onto Windows 7 and would like to open and read the file. I have downloaded SQLite Database browser. Either, how do I use that to read my messages or where else can I read them? I would prefer not to use a web browser.
Where can I find the backup file for my iPhone on my computer? I have searched everywhere I know and can't find it. Is it in iTunes somewhere? I don;'t need to restore, I just want to know where it is.
I have been trying to open the backup .IPD file in computer documents. One way to open files is with the reasearch in motion desktop manager, but I do not know where this is to open. Is there a free download that will allow me to read the text in the .IPD files?
It says my iphone backup file was corrupted and I was asked to delete my backup file.where could I find the backup file to delete? I've searched everywhere and I couldnt find it.

I backed up my iphone to my computer before going to Apple Store where my phone was replaced. Once home I synced up and my apps were restored but not the pictures and video.
Are they there or were they not backed up? If they are there why weren't they restored and what can I do to restore them?

Before phone recovery (in PC Companion) made backup of contacts and messages via 'backup and restore' (and contacts via 'export to sdcard' too). After recovery complete I tryed restore messages and contacts from SBF file with 'backup and restore' tool. But it alert me 'cant read selected restore file'. How can I extract messages from sbf-file? It's very important for me.
Some reason my PIM.Vol has offically shatter my HTC touch pro. The touch flo dont work anymore. I attempted a jailbreak through jailbreakme.com but it didn't work and bricked the phone. So I restored to factory settings which put 4.0.2 on my phone. No biggie it wasn't that big of a deal to jailbreak anyway so I was just going to go back to my old settings on 4.0.2.
Unfortunately it backed up again real quick after updating and now when I want to restore from the backup it just gives me factory settings. I do have a big 8gb backup dated from before the jailbreak fiasco in MobileSync>Backup but I have no clue how to get it onto my phone.
I have located the backup files on my PC, which is under some geberrish file name in my hard drive. I have two backup files, one from 1 week ago, one from this week. How can I choose to restore from the file that I backed up a week ago?
I tried plugging the phone in and go through itunes, but itune only gave me the option to restore from the backup file from this week (which is no good because the new backup file has nothing in it for some reason, 0MB of file ).
I would like to read MS Access Report file .SNP generated by an internal application. This file is part of an e-mail as attached object. Is it possible to do this with my BB 9000?
I'm trying to restore my new 4s (16g) to my backup, but it will not sync with iTunes, shows I have too much "other" taking up memory and I can't change the settings. Can't restore from backup due to corrupt file??
I've tried soft reset, restarting my computer, restoring the iPhone...exhausted and tired. Ready to return it.
My school uses ICA files to access programs. When I click launch app from the website it will prompt to only download and save the launch.ica file in firefox. I then proceed to click the downloaded file from firefox download window but then citrix gives me a cant read file error.
I currently have away around this by creating a custom .desktop file so that I can launch it using the file manager. Originally the file manager did not recognize what to use to open a .ica file. Not sure why it cant launch the file through firefox.
