I've traded iPhones with somebody I was with sprint and I wanted an gold iPhone 5s so that's what we traded for and I put my son card in the phone and tried to activate it multiple times and it won't activate I also called my carrier to activate it and they said the IMEI number is wrong I can't get past the *HELLO* process it takes too long to activate...

today i was trying to update my iPhone 4S from iOS 5.0to 5.1.1. No problems restoring it, but when i try to activate it,the process fails every time. It seems that Apple Activation servers are down?Im a computer enthusiast and have already checked my home network for issues that can block access to apple servers, also checked from another network and machines, but still no luck. Tried to activate using WiFi on my iPhone, 3G network, and even Connect to iTunes on my PC. I noticed that apple activation server is gs.apple.com. I have an Iphone 4s and it is unjailbroken or unlocked etc just normal iphone, it started last night when it started being unable to identify any servers on my emails facebook twitter yahoo google etc etc, then facebook and twitter would open but not load any pages and there would be a "network" issue. I'm having the problem that some of the sites I use are blocked by ISPs in Denmark - torrent sites. Of course I use Googles DNS servers on my home WiFi - problem solved. I would also like to be able to use Googles DNS servers when on mobile data.
I would much rather change some system file that overwrites the APN settings, than install a VPN or DNS changer app.

My mum bought me an Iphone 4S in duty free in South Korea airport, she was told it was unlocked, however, when I tried to activate it with my Kazakhstan sim card, it said that I had to use sim card of certain providers. I am most likely going to order and have the iPhone 4 shipped to my Apple Store so I can pick it up first thing in the morning.
