I just got a new Iphone5. The phone company transferred data/photos etc during the purchase from my old Iphone4. Now 1/2 my pictures are grayed out and just say loading when I click on them. There are about 200 out of 750 that are doing this. No particular order or dates.

I am getting a replacement 8530 for my current 8530 because my trackpad is off centered and recently I am now able to move it around. I called verizon explained everything and their answer "software problem, we're sending you a new one under your warranty" Whatever, its physical not software, but they are sending me out a replacement anyways so I dont care.
However, how do I put stuff on the new one? I use blackberry desktop manager, and click "Backup" and it backs up. When I connect the new one do I just click "Restore"? Also when I back up, the tab for contacts is grayed out and I CANNOT click it. So I wont be able to restore that, why?
All of a sudden, Ovi Suite only shows my photos as "grayed out" icons rather than the thumbnail.Not sure what has happened. Anyone see this? Better yet, anyone have a fix?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have a media card and I have some pictures stored on the device and a majority of them stored on my sd card. When I click on media and then pictures the folder is completely empty and there is nothing there. If I highlight pictures and click explore and then find my pictures it shows that they are on the sd card and it shows that some are stored to the device memory. I can't open the files because the names have been changed to a .al format. Also my pictures folders even when I click explore, are hidden. I try to uncheck the box that says hide so they will no longer be hidden but it doesn't let me. Howw can I get all my pictures back to normal so I can see them when I click on media and pictures?

Ok look, it is not a hardware issue, why? Because five minutes before updating i was surfing youtube, I decided to go from ios 7 to ios 8.1.1, and then suddenly my wifi is like NOPE and is grayed out and useless. I hear its cause newer ios's over heat the older wifi components, but i can not prove or even look into that. All i know is that freezing it works for about an hour, then its kaput and grayed out again. Funny how my ipod 4 still works after years and years but my iphone doesn't. I have done the whole reset network settings song and dance, all that's left is to dig through the files and force it to work.

I have had this problem with my old iPhone 5 and have the exact problem with the fact same songs on my iPhone 6plus. I will drag songs over and they "appear" on the phone but the are only gray instead of black and therefore they are unplayable. I recently lost my computer to a harddisk failure. Now when I plug my iPhone to my new computer, all the songs are greyed out in iTunes and i'm not allowed to play them. As all my music was on my now broken computer I no longer have the music, so I can't just add it again. The music is still on my iPhone so is there some way I can get around this issue and let iTunes play my music again or maybe a way of transfering the music from my iPhone to my computer without using iTunes?
