I have an iPhone 5s with OS version 7.1.2 (11D257). Recently I noticed that I was missing calls and text messages because the phone didn't ring or give the text alert. There is no vibration either. The phone is not in "do not disturb" mode and the manual sound switch on the side of the phone is turned on. It doesn't happen on every call or text, but the past few days it is more than 75% of them. I find myself checking the phone more often now that I'm aware of the problem. That was prompted by the fact that it has already caused a few problems with customers and employees who have returned my call to them within seconds only to have my phone go to voicemail and me not see their message for up to a half hour or so. I'm going to do an update right now just to be sure that I have the latest and greatest Apple patches.

It just sits there with Set ring tones/Alerts highlighted but doing nothing? It used to work ok and I have used it to change and set ring tones in the past but now nothing happens. I have tried changing the ring tone by going to Contacts, selecting the contact, and changing the ringtone listed under Custom Ring Tones/Alerts for the contact. My Sound and Alert Profile is set to normal. I have also tried going to Sound and Alert Profile and clicking on Change Sounds and Alerts. From there I have selected Sounds for Contacts and tried to Add Contact Alert. After doing this my phone still rings with the ring tone for the Normal Profile. How can I ensure that the ringtone for the custom alert comes up for these contacts?

I don't want the invitations to trigger an alert, I only want the actual meeting reminders to trigger an alert (if they were programmed to do so). I can't seem to turn off the invitation alerts without also turning off the meeting reminder alerts. Is there a way to stop invitations from triggering an alert?

I spent 2.5 hours at the Genius Bar in our local store. They finally gave me a new iPhone as a replacement to my 4. Guess what? Three days later and my phone won't ring on incoming calls. So, I reset the phone using the standard "General Settings" Reset and now it rings again. However, I can't assign ringtones to any of my contacts. Wonder how long it will work this time? Cannot locate it.Also, after I perfomed the update, all of the preloaded and my downloaded ring tones are not recognized. Now my phone won't ring, or alert for SMS or email, or direct connect.Video camera also appears not to be functioning. Getting an error message of "Error Playing. device media processor is busy." when nothing else is running.
I am using a ringtone that came installed on the phone. I have vibrate set to off and I am in the loud profile. When someone calls me, my phone rings once and then there is a long delay before it rings again. My daughter has the Bold and she uses the same ringtone and doesn't have this problem. About a week ago my iPhone began to give indiscriminate alerts, CONSTANTLY! What's even more strange, the alert sound is not found on any of the alerts that my iPhone offers. It's a type of chime with three beats. It doesn't chime on the hour or around texts, voice mail, etc. Sometimes it will chime everytime ten plus minutes for three or four times. Then, nothing for three or four hours. Then one chime. I had to turn it off at night because it would start singing in the middle of the night.

I have my work email account in Office 365, I have configured the account in my iPhone 4 running 7.1.1 & it's working fine.
But i have a problem here, i use outlook at Work & i have created folders & folder rules for different people working in my office the folders have been synced to my iPhone but when i receive a mail from a specific person for whom the folder is created i don't get an alert & if the mail comes directly to my inbox everything works fine.Â
I have to manually go to the folder & update it for syncing the emails. I am missing some of the important emails which i shouldn't have missed.

One of my biggest complaints with the iphone is that if I have a voicemail, I only get one alert. If I'm not in the same room with my phone, I wouldn't know i have a message unless I continue to check my phone. It seems you should be able to set your phone to remind you every 5, 10, 15 or however many minutes you'd like.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tried everything: In Sounds I turned Vibrate off, turned Email alerts to "None", and still when my volume is up I get this two-tone alert every time I get a new email. Even in the Apple store they didn't know what to do. I use my phone as an alarm clock but it keeps me up all night with this alert.
A possible cause: It's a personal/work phone, and my work installed an Exchange account on it. I also installed a separate Exchange account to sync with Google. So I have two Exchange accounts running (the alert only seems to come for the personal emails).
Is there a way to modify the calendar alerts on my iPhone 4S? Because of the schedule I work, I would like to add some additional options, e.g. 6 hours before, 8 hours before, 4 days before, 1 week before, etc.

I did the most recent update for May23, 2012 and since I updated the phone I no longer am receiving sounds on alerts or incoming texts. Also when i type on the keyboard, there is no sound. My music works no problem and when I test the ring tones, they all come up on the speaker, but my phone now only vibrates when there's a new text. Has anyone else experienced this problem? My birthdays from contacts show up on my calendar and in the notification center, but I don't get any alert on my iPhone 4 (iOS 7), although I switched everything on in notification centre options, and also set default alert time for birthdays under calendar options on 'day of event (9:00)'. Other calendar events show up as expected, only birthdays fail. Also, birthday alerts do show up on my Mac, but I need the reminder on my iPhone - just missed two birthdays today!!

My iphone5 alerts are way too soft, and I can't hear them. The ringer is set to max, but I can't figure out how to set the calendar alerts to high. When I do a hard reset it works for a while (less than a day) but then goes way down in volume. I need a good, loud alert for appointments. I've set it to vibrate, but it's not always in a pocket so I can feel it. I think it started after the last iOS update, but it seems more recent than that.
