I spent 2.5 hours at the Genius Bar in our local store. They finally gave me a new iPhone as a replacement to my 4. Guess what? Three days later and my phone won't ring on incoming calls. So, I reset the phone using the standard "General Settings" Reset and now it rings again. However, I can't assign ringtones to any of my contacts. Wonder how long it will work this time? Will Apple solve this with IOS 5 .1.1.1.1.1?
Since the last os upgrade my phone does not ring anymore i've changed the the ringtone types and still don't ring my alerts work fine the phone lights up when calls come in an will vibrate also ...

With the latest software update (V5.0.0.807), my Yahoo icon is gone. Cannot locate it.Also, after I perfomed the update, all of the preloaded and my downloaded ring tones are not recognized. States ""invalid ring tone selected, please make another selection" for every one.
Now my phone won't ring, or alert for SMS or email, or direct connect.Video camera also appears not to be functioning. Getting an error message of "Error Playing. device media processor is busy." when nothing else is running.
I am using a ringtone that came installed on the phone. I have vibrate set to off and I am in the loud profile. When someone calls me, my phone rings once and then there is a long delay before it rings again. My daughter has the Bold and she uses the same ringtone and doesn't have this problem. I have Sprint and she has AT&T if that matters. Thank you for any help you can give me.
as the title says, when someone phones me they hear music instead of the standard "ring ring" that you would expect to hear. It starts of with someone saying "to download ringtone" then just plays annoying music. I've tried a hard reset but it's still there!

My current situation: I am on a family plan with a total of two lines. My line is not eligible until 7/23, so all I can get is "early upgrade pricing". My mom's line is currently eligible for "full upgrade pricing". I am planning on using my mom's upgrade to get an iPhone 4. I want to preorder the phone from Apple.com on the 15th, and hopefully receive it the afternoon of the 24th. From my understanding, the microSIM that ships with the phone will be programmed for the line whose upgrade was used. However, the iPhone Upgrade Guide makes it sound like I can call AT&T once I receive the phone (and before I activate it), and have AT&T switch the microSIM from my mom's line to mine. Is this possible?
I have a message in my settings telling me that i can upgrade my IOS, but i don't want to upgrade at this time. How can i get rid of the red message mark?
Seems like after the last update, the phone won't ring for incoming calls and text messages. It appears lots of other iPhone users are having the same issue. I am just out of warranty on the phone and I wasn't going to purchase a warranty because I was waiting for the new phone to appear. The alarm works fine and the ringtones play when I try to select new ringtones. This is really a problem...I never had this kind of problem with my older iphones!
Wife is looking at getting an iPhone. Is it possible to have only the phone ring? Silent for everything else. She is an RN and is on call at night. Third part app is fine. She is used to a BlackBerry which does this natively. Also, any way to have different alerts for sms/mms and for multiple email accounts? I have conflicting information on this and wonder if anyone can shed some light.
Apple 4 phone. Phone will not ring when called. Vibrate works. There is a phone handle symbol in upper right corner of phone that is on. It shouldn't be on . How do I turn it off?

Is there a way to have the iPhone set to ring at night without having to turn off all the notifications one by one? Forgive me for bringing the Blackberry into the conversation but it did have an option for phone only, as well as silent, vibrate, vibrate with sound and so on.

Iphone works well, I can choose ringerphone, but when receiving a call phone doesnt ring. Already did a hard reset, changed ringer phone, turned on and off vibration, listened to music through Itunes - all works except ringing when receiving a call. Also no click sound when turning off.
so wanted a new ring tone, went into the way apple tellls you to through the setttings sounds then into ringtone and buy more tones so searched and found my desired tone but it wont be a tone now its only playing in my music app
My iPhone 4S won't ring or make any noise for that matter!!! I've checked and it's not on silent/vibrate. I don't even get sound when I switch to speakerphone.
Since the latest iOS8.1.1 update done my phone is not working properly. When ever I get a call, I am not able to hear the ring sound, phone turns to silent & vibrate mode. After this observation I have tried these many options to resolve this issue...Â
1. Did Rest all settings 2. Did Network all settings 3. Spoke with Apple support > suggested to do phone restore through itunes> but no issue problem still exist. Â
I have extremely poor hearing and none of the ringtones are louder than a whisper, even my gf who has normal hearing comments on how quite the ringer is. I'm sure this is a 101 type question but can anyone help me find a way to make my ringer stupidly loud? I still have the 1st gen iphone. Waiting on the g4 to come out.
when I plug my phone in at night or charge it, it will not ring it only vibrates if someone calls or texts me it will only vibrate. I have checked the slider button on the side its not stuck on anything like that, the sound settings are fine i have a ringtone for both calls and texts. I have called apple and they suggested to do a back up and restore which i have done that and the phone will ring with a call but not a text so i'm still having the same problem.? My husband has the same problem & we got the phones at the same time, ( we thought it was a setting and we weren't familar with them yet) I have looked online and havent managed to find a resolution to this issue yet.
