Going on a cruise next week that has GSM roaming on it. I plan to leave the phone off unless I need to check in with someone in US.I know that the voice rate will be $4.99 per minute, but how do I turn off the data portion of the phone to not rack up crazy roaming data charges. I do have unlimited international email but suspect the cruise ship does not count.

I listen to Pandora on my iPhone while jogging with my headphones. I despartely want to turn off my phone from ringing during this activity. I turned off the phone notification center and left badge alert on only. If I turn on airplane mode, I won't be able to listen to Pandora. There has got to be a way to temporarily shut off the phone ring coming through the headphones!
Ok, this is a very basic question. I'm currently an Android user. Does the data connection turn off after some time when iphone is locked/sleep mode or does data connection always stay on?

When I turn on the cellular data option the personal hotspot function bar appears with the wording "Personal Hotspot" and the wheel appears and goes around and around forever. If I turn the iPhone off and back on (with cellular data turned on) then the personal hotspot bar appears with the wording "Set up Personal Hotspot" and not wheel spinning. When the wheel is spinning I assume that processing is going on and using battery, not good! By the way I do not use the personal hotspot function.
I am using a C5-03 as my company phone and the company phone plane doesn't include data. May I know how to turn off the data connectivity such that there is no chance ever of me accidentally going on 3G internet networks/GPS/any data transfers at all?
I have just returned from holiday, I turned my mobile data off while I was away by simply dragging the top bar down and turning it off. Oddly since I have been back the option to turn it back on is greyed out!

I recently bought the Xperia play 4g but seems to have trouble connecting 4g. how to turn the 4g on so I could get access to the internet w/o having to use a wi-fi? I am unable to turn on my GPS Data Source. When I go into Location Settings if I click to change the GPS Data Source from 'none' it comes up with a black box round the word none. The same thing happens when I scroll to Location Off, it just comes up with a black box and does not offer any other options. The Location Data is Enabled and it will also let me change to Disabled or Disabled while Roaming. how I can switch my GPS Data Source on. Maybe this is why I cannot access the Facebook Places application??
