IPhone :: When Turn On Cellular Data The Personal Hotspot Function Goes Into A Loop In IOS 5.1
Mar 16, 2012
When I turn on the cellular data option the personal hotspot function bar appears with the wording "Personal Hotspot" and the wheel appears and goes around and around forever. If I turn the iPhone off and back on (with cellular data turned on) then the personal hotspot bar appears with the wording "Set up Personal Hotspot" and not wheel spinning. When the wheel is spinning I assume that processing is going on and using battery, not good! By the way I do not use the personal hotspot function.
My question here is,if I have the unlimited data plan on my iPhone 4S,can I add the personal hotspot feature without changing my data plan? I know that personal hotspot is an extra charge but i'd like to keep my unlimited data while still being able to use the personal hotspot.
what does this mean? i just got my iPhone 4 today and i was on the road (apple store is an hour drive from where i live) and i was texing my friends, had:
celluar data: OFF enable 3g: OFF data roaming: OFF
and i kept getting this response "turn on cellular data or use Wi-FI to access data" anyone know how to fix this? am i suppose to leave Cellular data on? i turned it off because i thought it would be wasting data. (got 200MB plan)
when i turned OFF the cellular data network, i can't receive/sent message/make a calls...i do same on my iP4 before, but it doesn't have any problem like this..
I would like to know if it's possible to turn my Torch 9810 into a personal wifi hotspot. I'd like to connect my iPad to the internet using my BB provider (as a "router").
Can I turn off phone capability of any iPhone and continue using cps and cellular data, practically using the device as iPad? Is this going to be possible with iOS8 or iPhone 6 Plus?
I just bought a Nexus 5 a week ago, its not rooted and runs Lollipop 5.1. After I've setup everything, I noticed whenever I turn off WiFi or leave the range of my WiFi, the cellular data doesn't kick in automatically, simply displays an exclamation mark on the network icon. I need to go into settings and tap on the access point in order to have the cellular data started. It's been very inconvenient.
I have an Australian Iphone and an ipad from australia, and as soon as I put an o2 sim card in my iphone the "personal hotspot" setting has disapeared from the settings menu.
i have a iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, i have an issue regarding the "Personal hotspot". Both are iOS 5.0.1, "BUT" my iPhone 4 has the Personal hotspot and my iPhone 4S doesnt have it... i tried to reset the phone, reset the network settings, but still i cant find the Personal hotspot on my iPhone 4S..
As a t-mobile user I used the personal hotspot for about 18 months without any problems till end of february! Yesterday, after a holiday break, it refuses to work!
I switched to w-lan hotspot, this worked! Could it be that iOS 5.1 caused this?!
The existing KB article on troubleshooting an USB connection to a Mac makes no sense to me on Lion with my MacBook Air.It says to mark the ethernet connection inactive. I've got the Wi-Fi and the iPad network connections and marking either inactive and then active has no effect on the USB tethering.
The iPad entry says cable disconnected even when my iPad is connected. iTunes starts and can sync to the iPad and tethering works over bluetooth or Wi-Fi, but I'd like to get USB tethering working so I can shut off my Air's radios completely and tether to my iPad 3.
With assistance from someone in an AT&T store, I set up a personal hotspot to tether to my IPAD while traveling. It works great ,but, there is no password spot to enter a password and it doesn't ask for one, how do I add one? I have read many tutorials and it says they are required,my screen looks like those it he tutorials but minus the password spot?
