My iPhone display is showing all my apps and text about 4x bigger than normal. It's a ***** to try to move around the pane and especially to do my pin if I turn it on. Tapping three fingers on the screen doesn't change the zoom.  I managed to get into Settings to check if the display was zoomed and it was set on standard. Resetting the phone doesn't work either. This has happened on my older 5s when my hand has been on an open display when the phone was in my pocket.  I think this last time my hand was on the screen for more than 10 seconds.
If you enter the word LUNCH or DINNER as part of an entry in Google Calendar, the event shows differently, with the time of the event displayed. Normal events do not show the time, even though it was entered. How do I get simple events to display the information.
How can I make the fonts larger in the Homepage? The icons are big but the font are super small. I know how to make fonts bigger for email, calendar, messaging, etc.  It would be nice that Apple fix this little issue so that users can have the accessibility to change from small to larger size.
I just got my first iPhone, the 4s. v 7.1.1. I'm familiar with Pages on the iMac…but Pages for the iPhone - I can see how to change text that's already been written, but how do you choose the font size before starting the document? In the document manager, I'm selecting "Blank", to start. Once I start typing, the font is big enough to read, but to just open and read the document would be impossible, it's that tiny. Â
Also, in Document Manager, the document titles are totally impossible to read, and I cannot find a way to change their fonts.Â
I'm an engineer, and a collegue of mine has a friend (tedious link I know!) who works for a mobile phone manufacturer as an engineer. His take on the whole atenna issue is the following:
1. Sticking your hand over the join between the atennae short circuits them (we all knew this!)
2. The short circuit causes the two small antennae to form one much larger one (obvious I know...bear with me!)
3. This larger antenna has a different frequency to the small one.
4. The phone detects this and switches between frequencies.
Sounds simple in practice, but apparently it takes an age for the software to switch between the two frequencies. My guess would be this is to prevent the phone from hunting between signals. This could indeed be what Apple were talking about when they mentioned that the new phone placed lower demands on the network.
For the sake of making things easy to understand, have a read through the two artciles on Wikipedia and HowStuffWorks:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cell_site

Basically, a Cell Tower has a finite number of frequencies it can use and assigns your phone to one of these frequencies. As you move around however, you'll be assigned different frequencies on different towers depending on what's available. As you can imagine, if a phone is super sensitive to variations in signal quality, it can reach a point where it jumps continuously between cell towers, placing high demand on all the switching hardware in the network. In reality, the user wouldn't notice any change in call quality if it stayed on one tower. By placing a delay in the frequency switching on the phone, your call will no longer be shuffled around towers constantly and will instead stick to one cell tower for longer, reducing the amount of juggling the network servers have to do and hence reducing dropped calls.
Here in lies the problem. When you change the length of the antenna on the phone, you cut out it's ability to see one segment of frequencies. The phone then starts looking for another available frequency. This now takes forever. Although the frequency may well be avaible, by the time it's found it, the call has been dropped as the slightly weaking signal it is expecting as you move away from the original tower has completely dissapeared.
The design of the antenna is undoubtably a fundamental design issue, which has somehow been overlooked or ignored. Let's not get into the politics of that here. What this does highlight however is that, if the delay between frequency switching is removed, reduced or in some way made smarter, the switch will be so quick, it won't have any noticeable effect on your call as it will just be another frequency switch similar to that between a towers.
I just switched from the default Samsung calendar app to the Google Calendar app. Events from my primary Google calendar, "Personal", appear on the Google Calendar app on my S5, but the calendar itself doesn't appear as an option when creating new events or in the Settings page. As a result, I can see all of my events that I enter via my PC browser (correctly under the label "Personal"), but I cannot add new events from my phone to that specific calendar. My other, less frequently used Gmail calendars (Birthdays, work, a few shared calendars) appear.
I'm finding that when I use the magnifying glass when writing a text (so as to move cursor back to edit) my phone freezes. The only way to unfreeze is to lock the screen and go back into messages. Sometimes the text I have written will disappear and I'll have to start the message again.Â
I have re-started the phone a few times but the problem still persists. This is a new issue and didn't start immediately after a software upgrade.Â
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me where I can get this photo without logo and writing? IMG_0171.PNG. Its on the new update of PS Express released and its beautiful
I just upgraded from iPhone 5 to iPhone 6. I restored all my settings. I have version 8.1.1 installed. When I am typing a text out, the phone is speaking it back to me. I do not want that turned on so I can text in silence. I am not referring to speaking and then having the phone relay what I am speaking into a text. How do I stop the phone from speaking what I am texting to someone?
I have had a rather random note added into my notes application on my iphone 3gs 16gb. I didn't write it and no one else had access to my phone at the time. It read like an personals advert, seeking sexual partners! Are there any viruses that are capable of doing this? if so, what else can it do? and how do i remove it?
When I go on eBay and I go to the first page on items I'm watching the writing is fine as soon as I go onto the second page everything goes so small I carnt see the writing at all it just goes really small I've tried enlarging it but it's still stays small
I downloaded an App from Blackberry App World named "larger picture id's" thinking my contacts picture id's, when they call or text, would be bigger for the outside of the phone..but it only works if i keep my blackberry style phone open...is there an App available for this for my style?
After updating my software I have lost the option of selecting the larger (and easiest to use!) qwerty keyboard, I only have the option of mini, alpha & handwriting? how can I get it back, incidentally the full size option is available when using the internet
As I hate to wear my glasses, is there any way to enlarge the FONT on the HOME SCREEN? Or is there a good "THEME" that someone can recommend that will allow me to change the FONTS on the HOME SCREEN? I have enlarged the FONTS on the rest of the screens ( emails, text's etc) but am stuck with the microscopic fonts on the home screen.
I sent you an email and you sent me back a App, thankyou for the great App but its not what I was chasing or if it is I cant find how to increase the key pad size.
My fingers are to large to type when I am sending messages, etc etc. I need larger letters and numbers when typing.
I need to purchase a larger capacity SD card.I want to keep all the contents on my installed SD card and transfer to the larger card.how do I go about this process.
I find the profile icon difficult to read and I like to ensure it is on silent but cannot do so easily. My Curve had a larger icon and said silent when you hovered over it.
how i can make the message text larger on my desire so it is easier to read ? a friend of mine has a wildfire and the message text was a lot bigger than it was on my desire.. also my phone keeps deleting all my messages about every 8 weeks, is this normal ? i do send a lot of texts and very rarely do i delete old messages, is it possibe to have your text message memory full?
I've had a 1520 for a few months now, fitted with a 64GB memory card. It's got pretty full as I install all my apps, games, photos and videos on it.
Decided to get one of the new 128GB SanDisk cards... Turned off the phone, took card out and copied all my data off the old card onto the new one via a PC, even made sure the new card had the same name as the old one. However when I put the new card in the phone and turned it on, it saw it as a new card and asked me if I wanted to use it to store stuff on. I said yes... but when I went to the photo gallery there was nothing there...
I put my old card back in and all was fine again... the 128GB one is definitely not a fake, I bought a few directly from SanDisk through the place where I work. Incidentally I upgraded the card in my Surface Pro 2 following same procedure and it worked like a charm.
