Dec 1, 2011I've just moved to an S2 from a Samsung i8910 HD. On that phone the next events in the calendar would appear written on the home screen. It was a very useful prompt of what was happening next.Is it possible to get a similar display on the S2's home screen?

May 13, 2011I have two calendars on my bb torch, from email and facebook. Today, out of the blue, 3 birthdays popped up on my home screen, as if it was today, but the dates are months away... and 2 of them are from the same person (but both came from facebook...). I clicked on them to see and hoping they would clear from my screen (just as messages do when you click to read them, when you close it, the notification of the message dissapears...) but they didn't... i tryed deleting one of the birthdays from my calender but it still showed the notification on my screen (it disappeared after about 20 min)! And the options of the event are all correct with the right dates, and the notification of the events are set up for the day before each birthday.... but it stil shows as if it was an event for today...I then tryed entering a task for next week... it also showed on my screen! Does every event you enter shows on the screen no matter what date? how do i get them to only show on the day they are set up to notify me? The alternative would be not to use the calendar at all... how do i alter the option of having the calendar sincronize with facebook? Or to have it not notify me about anything.... because i tryed selecting the email calendar only but the selection is only for visualization purpuses, it doesnt stop facebook sincronization.. and it doesnt give me an option of saving a task on the blackberry only.. i have to select the email or facebook for the reminder... cant i just use the regular calendar?

Dec 2, 2014I just switched from the default Samsung calendar app to the Google Calendar app. Events from my primary Google calendar, "Personal", appear on the Google Calendar app on my S5, but the calendar itself doesn't appear as an option when creating new events or in the Settings page. As a result, I can see all of my events that I enter via my PC browser (correctly under the label "Personal"), but I cannot add new events from my phone to that specific calendar. My other, less frequently used Gmail calendars (Birthdays, work, a few shared calendars) appear.

Sep 24, 2015I've posted this problem earlier. My Birthdays in my Contacts, do not carry over to Google Calendar. I don't have access to a laptop to go on the Web, to use the web version of Google calendar. All advice has mentioned Gmail. I don't use Gmail for email. It's not loaded as an app, but I used to use it. Is that the reason why contact birthdays don't show on Google Calendar? I have added birthdays as a recurring event, but it annoys me that it doesn't work.

Why is it NOT possible to have birthdays in the contact list? why I am writing this thread - I just don't understand why they do NOT integrate this, even my old Nokia E52 managed that...I am synchronising my Mini Pro with my MacBook Pro (with SyncMate, i don't want to use Google) so I have all birthday in the calender (because I have them in the Mac calender) and now I installed Ebobirthday on the phone so the problem is kind of " bypassed". But I think it's weird that there is no birthday field in the addressbook!

Oct 17, 2015Lately I've been noticing that the displayed time on my home screen widget is inaccurate. A simple tap on the widget seems to rectify things but it's weird. I'm using Transparent Weather Clock but I also noticed the same thing using the 3D Flip Clock widget.
Interestingly, my wife is using the Note 2 and she's having the same problem.
As this is happening with multiple widgets on multiple phones I feel safe in assuming that it's not related to the devices themselves or the widgets per se.
Galaxy S6 :: Faulty Display On Samsung Phone Home Screen
Jan 8, 2016A new problem has developed with my phone. It's hard to describe but it looks as if there is fluid under the screen (I don't have a screen protector btw). You can push the bubble of fluid (if that's what it is) around with your finger and see it move under the screen. Most unsettling. I'm at a complete loss to know what to do. MY PHONE AT NO TIME HAS GOT WET OR EVEN SPLASHED - I'VE KEPT IT COMPLETELY DRY. I HAVEN'T EVEN HANDLED IT WITH WET HANDS.
The problem is only visible on the home screen and it's not affecting the functionality of the phone in any way. However, it's a bad problem because now I've lost all security on my phone - it doesn't ask for a fingerprint swipe any more so anyone can immediately gain access to my phone merely by touching the bubble.
Interestingly, the problem disappears completely if I run the Samsung Galaxy S6 4G in Safe Mode.

Jun 15, 2015I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. It seems the newest update cleared all the saved appointments on my calendar and when I try to readd them it says they're saved but they are not. I don't know which calendar this is. It is the one that came as a default in the apps section of my phone. Do I have to sync it with a Samsung account or is it a Google calendar. I only want to save to my phone not have a million accounts everywhere.

Apr 19, 2015I used to be able to see the actual events on each day of the month but now I only see a green dot indicating there is an event. You have to click on that day to see what the event is. It was much better before when you could see at a glance your schedule for the whole month and not have to look at one day at a time. Jul 8, 2010I saw a few sync issues with third party softwares doing a search, but could not find my issue.I don't sync my mobile with any third-party software such as Microsoft Exchange or anything.
But I entered birthdays an anniversaries in the contacts.For instance, I create a new contact, his name's Bob.
"Add detail" ; birthday, say 09/07/1990.
On my oooold Nokia 3200, tomorrow, I would have a reminder in the calendar (it would even say Bob's 20, but I saw in my search that this was no longer available)
On my E71, nothing. If I entered a birthdate in the contact, maybe it means I suck at remembering the dates.If I used a downloaded App on the Ovi store, I would understand, maybe DLed apps don't have access to the contact data. But here I use the Nokia Calendar, and the Nokia contacts.Is it just me? Did I forgot to set something? Am I asking to much? (Come on, a 3200 could...)
