I Had blocked someone. Now I have unblocked them, but I still cannot send or receive texts from this person. I have been through every setting. I have deleted the contact and re-added them and still nothing. They keep texting me. But nothing is coming through.
Two nights ago I thought my phone 4 had been stolen so I had it blocked, only to find it the next morning. I unblocked it and was told it would take 24 hours to go back on. However I was able to use it after a couple of hours, sending texts, going on the internet and ringing people. Then yesterday all of a sudden I am getting no signal. People have text me yet I havent received any and when I try to ring someone it instantly says the call has failed. I've already tried resetting my network settings but that hasnt helped, ive also left it off for several hours.
Is there a way to turn the text-to-speech options on only for caller ID and text messaging? I don't want the phone to tell me every button I push or screen menu that I'm on. I want it only to read me texts and say who the call is from before ringing.
So i have tried entering in all of the information for MMS, I can send a picture text to myself, but I still cannot receive a picture text from a different caller
I had the tour first and since upgrading to .732 since the BOLD has the same software and i now have the bold 9650-verizon. When my phone rings the last callers name will come up first then automatically change to current caller.Has this been happening to anyone?
I liked the way the phone could be unblocked in Android 1.6. But after updating it to Android 2.1, as you know, it is done differently. Can I fix the old method in my phone?
When I got a connection via car bluetooth handsfree system (skoda - VW) my Z2 smartphone unblocking screen. When I have it in my pocket, It's been touched via pocket and starts uncontroled connections, somethimes during previous talk, somethimes after, somethimes it ends connection during talk. It very annoying.Where can find this setting in my Xperia z2 and prevent this situation?Inphone bluetooth setting doesn't contain setting like "leave screen blocked during connection"
I have my (stock) phone app set up to announce an incoming caller's name (if a contact) or phone number (if not). Lately (ever since the update to .83 I think, but I can't be 100% sure) this has gone weird on me, announcing "Call from <caller's name or number>...head north...head north...." Because I always do what my phone tells me to I am now seriously considering moving to Canada. It's an inconsequential problem at worst, but I just thought I'd report it here. It is always the same: two repetitions of "head north." Note that Navigation is not loaded or running when this occurs (according to both "Manage Applications" under Settings, and also Task Manager), and GPS is not on. Clearly, something in text-to-speech is corrupted. [Edit:] The problem continues to occur after reboot.
This is my first bb and I love it to bits...I have noticed that today whenever i receive a call I have the same caller id showing as the first person that rang me after I switched my phone on this morning...and that was my wife...so I have been answering "hi gorgeous" to everyone all day!
My iPhone 4 which is appx 4 years old with latest iOS has developed this problem last week. After a hello on connecting a call with anyone, it just goes blank. Neither am I able to hear any voice from the other side nor the person on the other side is able to hear me. I hVe to disconnect the call and use SMS or whatsapp. Is there anything I can do to correct it?
Just bought a 3GS and very pleased with it but is there no way to get it to announce the caller id?I'd imagine this is a commonly requested function but when i've got my phones in, i like the fact that it mutes my music and allows me to engage the call but there's no way of knowing who's calling without assigning custom ringtones.. I'd really like it to announce the caller id, is there not an app for this? i'm aware of the garageband trick but i'd rather this only work when the headphones are connected.
I updated iPhone 4 to 5.0.1 and since could not hear caller unless i used the ext speaker. Apple Store at Southland said to update to 5.1 and it should fix.....It didn't?
I just replaced the LCD and the screen on my iphone 3G. It's all back together and working great - except there is no sound from the phone speaker. I can hear it ring and I can listen to messages. And the caller can hear me. But I can't hear the caller. My guess is this has to do with connection no. 3 because I had some trouble getting that one back in and may have damaged it. I've taken it apart and re-tried several times. When I flip the clamp the male end is secured. But it has never felt to me like I got the male end all the way seated back in the female end.
I just bought a 4S for my wife and when she sends me a text in iMessage it comes up with her email in the caller id. On my iPhone 4 I can go to settings/messages/receive at/caller id and select number or email. On the 4S under settings/messages there is no 'receive at' option. Any other places to go and make the change?
I used to be able to set my caller ID as hidden for making calls but now it appears that I have lost that feature. The respective menu is showing as ON (settings, phone, show my caller ID - ON) and greyed out, so I can't disable it. How can cancel it and have my caller ID back to hidden?
Is there anyway that we can block our phone number from displaying to customers using facetime? We've tried using *67 but that completely blocks the facetime application from even running. The other idea was to forward from our google voice number to the iPhone but that still displays our personal numbers when we intiate facetime.I know when Apple offered the Facetime demo their phone numbers were blocked when facetime opened. Is there some option we're missing that will allow us to block our number when using facetime?
I just installed a Sony XNV-770BT in dash Nav/Receiver with bluetooth capability in my vehicle. Both my wife and I have the iPhone 4S with AT&T. The caller id name/number will show up on the iphone, but will not pass through to the Sony unit, until after you answer the call. (This of course defeats the whole purpose of caller id!) Before you answer the call it says "Withheld", which is the Sony term for blocked, I guess.
It seems that there are quite a few issues with various iphones not passing the caller id info through to bluetooth devices, but I have not been able to find a solution to my specific problem. I called Sony and they offered to send me a new unit after I remove the one I just installed and return it to them, because they said the caller id feature is supposed to work with the iphone 4s. But this is a lot of trouble to go through only to find out the new unit acts the same way and it is really an iphone issue. The caller id pass through does not work with either mine or my wife's phone - I did the recent iOS 5.1 update and my wife has not. Here are the bluetooth profiles that the Sony unit supports:
Compatible Bluetooth® Profiles : A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile)1.2
AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile)1.3
HFP (Handsfree Profile)1.5
OPP (Object Push Profile)
PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile)
We also downloaded our phonebooks into the Sony and and it does not make a difference if the call comes from a phonebook contact or not...
The caller voice volume has become low on my iPhone (I think it's a 3G, not sure how to tell). The ringer volume works fine. Is there a setting to raise the voice volume?
