IPhone 4s :: Two Copies Of Some Songs After Syncing With Laptop
Aug 23, 2014
I bought a new laptop and synced my phone to it. I carried over the old music to my laptop and now there's two copies of some songs ONLY on my iPhone. I tried manually deleting them but when I sync my phone they come back. I tried unchecking the albums to prevent them syncing and resetting it and that only removes some of the doubles. Just to clarify, they do NOT show up in iTunes as doubles, only on my phone.
I attempted to sync my music to my iPhone 4S (iOS version 7.1.1) a while back and iTunes on my computer froze mid-sync, forcing me to quit. When I unplugged my phone and checked my music, several albums had two copies of the same song or entire albums were split apart. One in particular was split into 4 different albums, with only one containing the entirety of the song list.
Whenever I try to sync my playlists onto my MotoACTV from Itunes only half of the songs make it. I received a message stating that "662 files are protected" so they did copy over. How do I unprotect those songs? I have looked in Itunes and cannot find out how.
Whenever I sync my iPhone to iTunes, it keeps copying over the same 104 songs to my iPhone. Day after day, it copies the same 104 songs again, as if they were missing or deleted. These songs are there and can be played from the phone. This is a 64 gig iPhone 4 and a unibody MBP 15" purchased in mid 2011. My iTunes Library is about 20 gigs and the settings are set to sync my entire music library.
I have purchased and downloaded (through iTunes) six songs from a particular artist, and added these songs to two different playlists on my iTunes. However, five of them will not sync to my iPhone. They are checked, and I am able to play them through iTunes on my computer without a problem (Windows 7). However, on my iPhone, only the one song shows up.
I have deleted the songs and re-downloaded them, but they still won't sync. I also tried unsyncing all music, and then re-syncing, but they still don't appear. My iTunes and iPhone iOS are both completely up to date. These songs worked fine on my iPhone 3GS, but ever since I got my 4S, they've never shown up.
I hate this iTunes sync complication as always! it just *****.
I have synced my iPhone in my previous work computer because my iTunes in my mac is no longer complatible.. now, I have returned the computer at work and it's no longer with me.
i can't update songs to this phone without reformatting it first. it ***** because i hate starting back from scratch i have a lot of apps now.
how to make them available on my laptop? I can see them all in the music (or tones) library but there is an exclamation point by all of the ones I didn't purchase on the phone with iTunes.
I have purchased a new laptop. I need to sync my iphone to this new device. Before I jump into it, I would like to know if I will experience any problems or loss of data.
I just want to know how to put puctures from my laptop to my iPhone 4s.. for some reason i cant drag pictures from a folder on my laptop to the iPhone like i could do with my previous iPhone.
Recently received a replacement 4s. I restored through iCloud and it worked (slow) but great at restoring all settings, pix, etc except for my music. My laptop recently crashed that I used my iTunes with. I transferred all music via thumb drive to a new computer, and then transferred the music into iTunes. I am now trying to sync my music onto the replacement phone, but only about half of the music is syncing. All music is showing up in my iPhone but half are greyed out? The songs are able to be played on the computer through iTunes but remain unselectable through iPhone. I deleted all songs from iTunes and from the iPhone twice and replaced them twice, still no change? I tried clicking and unclicking sync all music. I tried clicking sync manually. PLEASE HELP. Had no trouble with this with my first iPhone 4s. This is turning into a headache and I am getting frustrated. The replacement came from Apple/Verizon so it is not from a random Joe Shmoe from Ebay.
when I plug in my iphone 4 into my 2012 GMC Teriian It shows doubles, some times tripple of songs. It only does this with my phone, there are not doubles on my phone. did a restore today still doing it. I have 94 songs on my phone... shows I have 207 in the Terrian? Why? Called Apple they said if there are doubles only in the vehicle then the problem is the car radio..... dealorship says its my phone.....
I just bought 9 songs from Amazon music download and added them to my iTunes library. I've done this before and my previous Amazon purchased music has always and still plays fine. After syncing my new music with my iPhone I found I couldn't play these 9 songs (they play fine on my Mac in itunes, just not on my phone). They have the red square in red circle symbol next to them (see screen shot) and when I tap on one to play it just skips to the next song without the red square in red circle.
Info: iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
My iPhone4 and laptop have stopped communicating/syncing in terms of emails. IE: If I delete an email on my phone, it used to automatically delete on my computer, and vice versa. Now, nothing.

I have the new desk top version 6.0 ( for my 8520), unfortunately it does not have the easy Roxio program, with which I used to navigate to my LapTop to find the songs I want to copy to my BB. Version 6 has only media sync, and I can not reach the songs in a specific folder on my LT , to copy to my BB. The mass storage support is ON, yet version 6 reach/ see only my BB> Do I have to put those songs in a specific folder in my LT?
When can we expect more maps for the rest of the world? E.g. Asia? Australia/NZ?On Motocast USB, I only see a way to sync entire iTunes playlists to the device. How can I select individual songs? And what if I don't use iTunes to manage my music? There's a post titled "How do I load music on my MOTOACTV", which states that there should be an "(NO NAME)" drive on my desktop when the device is connected, and I'm supposed to be able to just drop songs into its "Music" folder, but there is no such device appearing on my desktop/finder. I only see a device called MOTOACTV, but I don't see an obvious "Music" folder there.
Just got the Bold from my employer. When I make calendar entries on my office computer they synch immediately to my Ipad and Iphone. However, I cannot get the same calendar entry to synch with the Bold. Emails and Contacts are not a problem and synch to all "units".
I'm trying to sync my BB with my laptop to backup the info. It gets to - Back up in progress - Says: Backing up smartcard options 1 of 1 record, when it gets to this point it stops. why?
I use iCloud for my calendars on my iPhone 4S.However, there are 28 Birthdays calendars listed under "other" on the phone that I cannot figure out how to delete.I have already tried turning off iCloud syncing and deleting the calendars information. This has no effect.I have seen similar problems addressed here, but not exactly this one. Please help, it is an exceptionally annoying situation.
I use notes quite frequently to write down ideas. Everytime I start the app and add to a note, another copy of the note is saved. It's getting so I have 10 and 12 copies of some notes.
I do not have sync notes on iTunes checked and I don't think it's happening becasue of my iCloud backup becasue I have notes switched OFF.
I had to restore my iPhone, but the day before I made a backup. When its finished with the restoring process I get this screen on the iPhone:Â
1. Start as a New device
2. Restore backup from iCloud
3. Restore backup from iTunes. Â
I'v tried both restoring the backup again and starting as a new device. If I do that I'll get all my old apps but none of the information that was in my backup, photoes, contacts, notes etc.Â
I've located the backup folder, and I can see that the photoes etc are there, the folder is at 7Gb. Strangely enough each time I try to restore my backup it just creates a copy of the original backup folder.Â
I deleted songs in my iphone on the music app but when I sync with the computer the songs disappear. How can I delete songs on my phone but keep them in iTunes?
